1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Marina Bychkova's Resin Enchanted Dolls Discussion Part 1

Dec 19, 2012

    1. More doll accessories would be great news! Especially if art students were making them- imagine all the unique styles they would come up with! It could be the equivalent of the miniature Dior collections!

    2. I know! I really think that the market for fabulous doll accessories/high end jewelry is a market just waiting to be tapped- just have to convince the art students of that :)

Speaking of inspired by Marina- is anyone familiar with the InspireDoll artist? Her dolls are really lovely - they seem to be inspired very heavily by Marina's look.

    3. Oh, I think she would post about the resin dolls if she had made any, since she makes and orders them in batches last I heard. And Chad has insisted several times that the line is still going, but people are still full of doubt. So I think she would not go a year without posting about resin dolls if she was actually making them. I think she is just focusing on other things. And who can blame her with the fabulous porcelain beauties she has been creating?

Yes, Inspire Doll is very pretty and I can see the influence. There are actually lots of other artists I am interested in now, some very similar to ED, some not. Alina Ivanova has been doing very well. Her latest porcelain doll sold for $20,000, and she is putting another resin on eBay soon. I saw a photo today that makes me think she has another porcelain in the works.

It's an exciting time in the artist doll world!

    4. Lovely girls hanging out in lovely dresses and lovely shoes on a lovely couch! *perfect* :D

    5. Lovely photo! I love their shoes and tights!!

    6. Someone is selling a resin Enchanted Doll on ebay- apparently she was purchased only this year- at a February 2015 Moscow doll show. So Marina is still making resin dolls, but since Marina herself said that she only makes as many as 6 dolls a year, I think it is not always likely we will hear of each one. Like this one, I had no idea she existed.

It makes me sad to see the doll on ebay so fast after the owner purchased her. I wonder if the thought of doll flippers makes Marina not want to turn out very many resin dolls?

    7. That doll was bought from a gallery at the show, not from Marina, so we have no idea when it was made. I still think if she was making them she would post about it.

    8. Looks like another 2 Enchanted resin dolls up on ebay- based on a peak at the Enchanted Doll forum, it appears the owner picked them up (unfinished) earlier this year- and sent one head out for a face-up by another artist. The artist did a good job.

I guess part of the danger of being on a waiting list for many years, is that you might not be in the same situation or have the same interests as when you first got onto the list.

Luckily for me, I am still interested! But I would prefer Marina to do the face-up. Although maybe there is a better chance of getting a doll if you order them blank?

    9. I forgot about the doll that was for sale last week so don't know how much she went for in the end. Does anyone know? I see the two recent ones are up to $10,000. That is quite a bit for an unpainted doll and a faceup by another although that faceup is gorgeous. The body is unpainted though but not hard to do yourself. Because Marina does so few porcelains and appears to have stopped doing resin, that drives up the prices like crazy. Maybe mine should go in a vault. Too bad Marina wouldn't do another of batch of resins for the people that have had their name on the list for years and have waited so patiently (or impatiently). She did promise that batch a couple of years ago but it never materialized. People will only wait so long and then they move on to something new and that may not even be dolls. I have seen this happen time and again.

    10. I am still on the list, but to be honest - I got tired of waiting and now I am an Iplehouse addict . They do male dolls as well - which was something I really wanted. However - if I ever do come up on an email - I probably would buy an ED.

    11. I was watching both auctions. The 'Moscow show' doll went for 7.900 USD. The two resin doll auction went for 11.200 USD.

    12. Thanks Eiko. That is a good amount of profit. That is in U.S $ too so for me that is worth about 25% more. Since I bought direct from Marina I paid Canadian $. It makes it really tempting to sell my two dolls but unless I need some life saving surgery that is not paid for by health care, I will be keeping my dolls. I really like them a lot and know if I got rid of them I would regret it. Hopefully they retain their value and there may come a time I am ready to part with them. I wonder who bought the most recent dolls. I guess someone who thinks the "list" will never come alive again.

    13. Resin ED's are certainly commanding very high prices on the second hand market! Makes me wonder if indeed Marina does produce any more in the future, whether their price will remain the same as when they were first released. Just as the porcelain girls sharply increased in price, as their popularity grew, I can't help but think that the same could happen with the resins.

    14. I can see why Marina doesn't do many of the porcelains what with the time it takes to make them plus her other things she starts learning to do but I just can't figure out why she would not do more of the resins she has made elsewhere. Either it isn't worth it to her money wise or she doesn't want the market flooded with her dolls in resin. I know she does paint some but she could sell them unpainted but there again she may not like other people painting her dolls. I can see that as an artist who wants to control every aspect of their art. I wonder how many hours she spends painting her resins if it is something she has done before and not making up a new face.

    15. Well she is definitely a super-creative who gets wildly inspired to do different things and to move from one project to the next- I think resins are probably just not very inspiring or fun for her, that's all.

    16. Hi all- I have a friend on facebook who has come up on the waiting list for a resin ED. It has been put on hold due to Marina's new project - but it looks like she is still making them. This person has been waiting for about 5 years though. Sigh- I guess I still have a chance!!

    17. Wow! Exciting news that it's still happening (not that I'm on the list, but want to see more of these beauties!)

    18. Actually- make that 6 years- I just double checked!!

Yes me too!! I cant wait to see a new one on the loose lol! I am on the list, but I know my name won't come up for ages- it's only been a mere two and a half years!

    19. Wow! That's awesome. They must have been on the porcelain waiting list.
