Marina Bychkova's Resin Enchanted Dolls Discussion Part 1

Yes, perhaps she may have been! Unless she was saying that she had been waiting six long years since first seeing and wanting one! I know she is super excited, although it must be hell to know it's just around the corner but not knowing exactly when lol! But it has restored my faith in that the list is alive and kicking!!

 

Oh Bibarina, I hope the list is still alive! Are you sure this person isn't the winner of Marina's birthday contest? She was told her prize doll would be delayed due to Marina's current project.

 

That doesn't seem likely if she was waiting for 5 years...

I never thought to ask if she was the competition winner and as she never mentioned it I assumed it was the waiting list because she said it had been so long!! Only one thing for me to do, and that is ask!! I will kep you posted

Even though I signed up way late, I'm still super excited to hear this! If my turn ever came, I'd have to move mountains to afford it - but I'd do whatever I can to get a resin ED directly from Marina. But if my turn never comes, I'm still happy and excited at the prospect of seeing new dolls arrive to their owners. Never can have enough Enchanted Doll

 

I feel the same way!! I am on the list too, but I have a feeling that I am one of the last!! I can't wait to see my friends girl!! I just have to persuade her to join the forum now if she has not done already!!

I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I don't think we should get all too excited about the prospects of people getting more resins in the near future unless we hear it directly from Marina. This Person that is possible getting a resin(she doesn't have it yet) may be something other than the list people. Marina has not even hinted about the list. She is working on that new carved doll which looks very time consuming. I could be wrong about this, I hope I am, but?????? I was on the porcelain list years ago, was told it would be started soon and I am still waiting. I know I won't get one and don't even think of it any more. I do have my two resins though and they keep me happy.

 

Shashy, I agree with you. There is no reason why Marina should start REDs when she's working on a new porcelain doll.

 

My friend was on the waiting list, and Marina has contacted her to let her know that her name has come up and she will be receiving her RED. It has been put on hold whilst Marina works on her new project.

If Marina does make some more resins, it might come as a bit of a shock to those who paid over the odds for dolls on the secondary market. People have paid 500% of the original price - probably in the belief that there would not be another opportunity to buy. Having said that, I don't think anyone should regret doing that, because if you really want one then it's better to be safe than sorry!

Even if Marina doesn't make a formal announcement, maybe other people will reveal that they've been contacted too, which might confirm things

 

UPDATE!! Marina contacted my friend to advise that her doll is being shipped today!! So excited for her!!!

 

WOw!!!!!! Did your friend order a blank doll? Do you know if she was given any choice over hair/eye colour and whether it would be Asian/European mold?

Please please please - even if she doesn't want to join a forum - would you ask her to share photos with us somehow!!

 

Aneemal of course I will ask her to share photos!! I need to persuade her to join all the forums too! She is not a doll collector normally- she only ever fell in love with ED! In answer to your question- she ordered the Asian mould- I think with faceup and a white wig! Not sure which faceup she went for, or eye colour- will have to ask her!

If she doesn't want to join the forum I will ask her to send me some pictures to share...

 

I think that Marina is making them on her own time (very slowly and infrequently) and because they aren't very exciting projects (for her) I doubt she will make blog entries about them.

I saw that a couple of people got a little demanding of her over on the EnchantedDoll forum a couple years back now, and she got very irritated at a few entitled accusatory comments- and sounded very frustrated and explained that she never promised to crank these out and would not be pushed or forced into making the dolls. So I'm sure that like she's promised, she hasn't forgotten the list, she will just get to it on her own time, and maybe some more people will get dolls if they are still around a year or five years from now, if she hasn't moved onto other things. Nobody has a "right" to her dolls after all, they are art not products.

That latest doll is really lovely...

 

I agree Galacticat- Perhaps Marina decided to do a few extra as she is already making one for the Birthday Contest winner- the timing fits in with this and it wouldn't encroach on her time too much to make a few together rather than just one- killing two birds with one stone so to speak!
