1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Marina Bychkova's Resin Enchanted Dolls Discussion Part 1

Dec 19, 2012

    1. :* Thank you my friend. Kasia is very busy, I think she told me that she won;t take any more orders this year ! As for my "come back" , I am geting everyday emails with this question - when? I do not know myself :( But I am sure I won;t be able take any commission for a month yet. I need to finish few things first, that I haven;t done before I delivered. I think I will start in November from my wait list that is really long ...

    2. Oh November is fine, you need to take care of you and your baby first :)
In France mothers have 3 months of no work after birth.
Do you know any other really good artist for face up ? But may be January will be fine for me after all.
Any idea if Kasia takes January orders now or if we must wait till January to send her an order ?
Thanks for your help I do appreciate :)

    3. I think you should just contact her. But be patient, she is quite busy and she told me she has not enough time for replaying, so she could back in a day or two.

    4. Well, when you are back Ursi & have the time, could you please add me to the waiting list for a complete outfit, including shoes for my doll if that's OK? I'd love to own a complete ensemble made by your amazingly talented hands?!
Oh & by the way, congratulations on the birth of your new baby boy! :thumbup

    5. Oh My! She is just so beautiful! I have always admired the face up artist you have used, too bad she's not in the USA. Can you tell me what year your ED was made & purchased in? I am curious as to whether they have a yellowing tint to them from age now? Thanks and your fashions are so wonderful!! Congrats on the new baby too!!

    6. I am lucky to have Kasia near :)
I bought my ED 2 years ago, exactly 2 years ago for autumn. In fact I haven;t checked which production year she is. I will check it out and let you know :)
Thank you for your kind words.

Yes of course, I don;t know if you are not already on my list. I will check.
So nice to "hear" you Delphi :)

    7. Oh, that would be so awesome, thank you sweetheart! I've designed an outfit that I think will be interesting & cool for you to make. Something simple but sophisticated at the same time. Well I know that what ever I come up with you will definitely be able to do it justice, considering all the other gorgeous outfits you have made over the years which speak for them selves.:love
I have watched you create some of the most beautiful doll clothes I have ever seen. And so if you can put me on your waiting list, well I'd appreciate it very much & I'd be ever so grateful. Unless, I'm already on that list as you say? :cheer

Oh, if I could afford such a doll I would be so happy!:drool:abambi:

    8. Thank you D. :* You are always so nice to me ! I haven;t much opportunity to make any more couture things for Enchanted Dolls. People usually wanted for them casual clothes, don;t know why.

So, I don;t know where to check when she was produced... lol, is there somewhere a place where i can find that info?

    9. It's kind of strange that no one had commissioned you to make some extravagant couture pieces for their ED! Could possibly be because most Enchanted Dolls are quite innocent looking & so maybe that was why? And so people wanted something girly & very pretty, kind of pre-pubescent & in-between child like & young woman. And so perhaps couture did not enter their minds? Can you recall how many outfits did you make for peoples Enchanted Dolls? :)

    10. I did not count, but some :) For me ED girls are rather like a sophisticated princesses, should be spoiled with beaded gowns, robes and silver accessories. I always think of these dolls like they should look rich and glamour. All porcelain dolls remind me of such vision of doll. I know we do not;t speak about porcelain, but just wanted to shear my thoughts.

    11. Yes your right! they do conjure up that type of visionary!
Considering the delicate material that the first ones were made of. Porcelain dolls, I feel are so fragile that I couldn't imagine playing with them, but I'v been told that porcelain is just as strong as resin if not stronger, I think?
Do Enchanted-Dolls have high heel feet? From what I've seen & I can only remember Marina making flat feet, not sure if she did any high heel feet. The Enchanted Dolls were the first modern BJD Dolls I ever saw & I fell in love with them immediately! But at the time I just could not afford them & so I would admire them on google image search & as I do still these todays.
Did you say you have two Enchanted Dolls, one made of resin & one made from porcelain? Are you interested in selling one of them, are you Ursi?

    12. I don't know, I thought when she offered the resin in 2018 January, she had "found a box" and I was wondering if that box was from her early production a few years before?? Which would mean they would be more than 2 years old? Or did she do a new order of them, it was a bit confusing I think as to what year this last lot she had found were actually made.... Maybe someone else knows?

    13. I know from her first owner - she was bought as one form first 100 quantities, lady got her in late 2015. Mine doll is not mine anymore, she found a new home :)

    14. Oh then the mystery of what year they all came from continues! Congrats to you!! :cheer

    15. Has Marina ever indicated any plans to put the REDs back into production again? I feel it is so difficult to find one on the second hand market.

    16. I think she has specifically said she will not - but it isn't too hard to find one these days- many people who had them are selling them off.

You can post a want add on Enchanted if you like- there always seem to be at least one person selling there. Just keep an eye out.

Marina is actually taking orders right now for new shoes which is amazing! I managed to order a pair- I can't wait till they get here :D

    17. I really love the earliest resin ED dolls with the huge painted eyes- I wish I could get one! The ones with small more realistic eyes are pretty of course, but they don't have that magical illustration quality that the ones with big cartoonish eyes have...

As for porcelain, I can tell you it is definitely NOT as strong as resin. I have a fair number of porcelain BJD dolls and have lost fingers and knee caps just from gentle posing or a topple over from posing. That NEVER happens with resin resin is tough. The upsides to porcelain are only that the paint gets fired on so it doesn't get rubbed off or damaged- and they never yellow. And of course the look. High quality porcelain is pretty.

But it is so freaking fragile there is almost no point to a porcelain BJD. They are NOT fun to play with like resin as you are always in desperate fear of losing a finger or something...

    18. Thank you so much! I thought that forum had gone away. I must have last checked when it was moved over to the new site.

    19. Hi everyone! I'm new here.. I was a big fan of Marina several years ago and joined the waitinglist but then changed email addresses and didn't even think about my spot. Now I'm returning late and hoping to save up for one. I'm here to shamelessly request spam and ask how everyone displays their dolls? I want to say that marinas reds are uv resistant, but I'd still be scared to leave it in indirect light in my office.. thinking maybe a uv resistant glass case

    20. I think they are UV resistant but they are still basically plastic- so eventually they may yellow. I think humidity plays into it a lot. My girl still looks beautiful. I keep my art dolls in a cabinet in a couple of places in the house that aren't touched by direct son, they seem okay.
