1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Marina Bychkova's Resin Enchanted Dolls Discussion Part 1

Dec 19, 2012

    1. I assume that the book wouldn't start shipping 'til the end of June or beginning of July. That's why I said 'summer'.

Your girl looks so cute. Here is a photo of Moira, wearing a kimono I bought off Ebay ages ago.

    2. pooh How I love Marina's dolls!!!! Just discovered that it was possible to order a resin one last year....but still not anought money ....But I jumped to order the book yesterday !
      Your dolls are wonderful!!!! :D

    3. Here is an update that has already been pointed out on the ED forum but not here: Marina is no longer accepting new people for the resin wait list.

Hopefully this means that she will try to make a commitment to filling orders for people currently on the list, her long-time patient fans. My jaded brain fears that it instead means she is giving up forever. We shall see.

I wish I could just get a blank doll! It's so frustrating. I like the Angel Egg dolls too, but the hands and feet are so small, and the head is so big compared to a resin ED. The EDs really are so lovely and perfect... :(

    4. Funny you should say say that about AE hands. I have one ordered and am afraid the hands will look so small. They do in the pictures. My ED resins so are perfectly proportioned. And like you said the AE heads are fairly large. In the comparison picture that has been posted, AE, Popovy and ED are all about the same size but heads and hands are so different. My Popovy looks good with her wig on but the picture of a bald one makes the head look like a pea. Marina definitely got her dolls right but to get one you have to be very lucky and sometimes rich.

    5. I have handled an Angel Egg doll in person, and the hands did look small to me. I wished I could swap them out for better ones, lol! But other than that the doll was very high quality and beautiful. I would not be sorry to have one at all. She posed very nicely with her hands and legs. So I think you will still be happy. :)

I don't mind the Angel Egg proportions for a stylized Dentelle body, but for a natural body I 'd rather have a doll with better proportions. I agree about the lucky/rich thing. Hopefully we will both get there someday!

    6. I have a feeling the lucky and rich may not happen with regard to the porcelain dolls. One can hope though. I did order the Dentelle body, the latest version so I am sure I will be happy. I am getting two different faceplates as well. They do look like good quality and I think this doll will fit in quite nicely with my two ED resins and my popovy Cuckoo. I am really liking this size of doll now. All my other resins are being quite neglected right now but I still want to keep them. Might have to think of selling a couple though if I don't feel crazy about them. I have trouble parting with any of my dolls. When I see the price of ED resins climbing I think that money would really be nice but I just can't part with them because they are my favourite dolls at the moment.

    7. I have a Popovy Magpie and three Angel Egg Dolls. I like all of them since they all have their own charm. I really want a resin Ed but think that dream is dead. In my opinion if you have ED dolls you might want to keep them because I don't think you will ever get to replace them for any sum of money.

    8. Has anyone received their new book yet from Marina? I'd like to see how it looks :)

    9. I received mine last month. It's a lovely book with lots of pictures of her work. Certain dolls have their own pages with information and sketches. Other dolls are just featured on the photos without an explanation.

Here is a pictures of Moira with one of the page, featuring Marina's shoes.

You can see more photos of it on my Flickr.

    10. Oh wow!! The book is exquisite!!!!! :D Now I wish I got a copy, dammit! Would've been a nice read on the different characters! :)

Marina's shoes have always fascinated me! They're made of metal right? I'd really love to give it a try for my MNF, and design my own <3 Moira's dress is pretty as usual, I love floral patterns, who doesn't? Did you make it yourself?

While looking at your Flickr photos, with both resin girls next to your Porcelain, Arya, I honestly find the porcelain quality and aesthetic incomparable with the resin dolls. Nothing beats the original, eh? The resin girls look pretty nonetheless, but they lack this little spark in their eyes, and the small details on their skin. Arya has freaking 'nanometer'-sized freckles <3 I love them xD

    11. Ho wow, I didn't knew these dolls and they are so wonderfull ! I just can dream to have one one day, maybe, in other life when I see the price... But well, they worth it !

    12. While Marina's artist editions have sold out, I did find her book on Amazon a few days ago. I have the first edition, and if you are a fan of her work, the book is a wonderful thing to have.

Eiko82 and Kapiszonka, your dolls are lovely! Their faces look so gentle and sweet.

    13. Thanks for sharing SilverAsh.....just grabbed one from Amazon! :o

    14. I'm just curious, if one of these dolls were sold on the secondhand market, how much will they cost?

    15. There is currently a resin ED doll on Ebay which had a starting bin of 3000 USD and a BIN of 7000 USD. It's at 5000 USD right now.

    16. They are beautiful !!!

    17. I have a feeling that she might have given up on the resin (or got bored of doing them). I sent a polite request just to see if I was still on the list or if they were still being made a while back, and did not get any response...

I just bought Suok2011's AE Blue Rose doll, she is so lovely- I kind of what to make/buy a little lacy skirt for her, just to cover up her lady parts... I wonder what would fit?
