    2. This is Moswen. He's a tanned AoD Chi and he's 46cm tall.

      This is Jaiseki (without a face-up). He's a normal-y AoD Min and he's 46cm tall.

I think AoD has some of the most mature MSD sculpts out there and while Moswen and Jaiseki are very pretty, I think they're also quite masculine.

    3. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.

I haven't even received my first doll and already I'm wanting more. Geeze. :doh Eventually I'd like to get a male doll in MSD size. I've noticed that a lot of the male msd's are more feminine or childish then the SD size. While I don't mind that, I'd personally like an MSD sized male doll that's more masculine than what I've been seeing (dollzone, dream of doll, bobobie, etc.). I kind of like AOD's "Chen," but I'm not sure if I like his eyes or not. Any suggestions for a company with more "manly" looking msd's?

    4. I find that I've got the same problem with the aesthetics of Male MSD-sized dolls. I prefer 'mature' looking males but most of the ones I've found are really girly looking, or look like kids.

Personally I like the Iplehouse JID Ryan, though he's a good inch or so taller than a MNF-sized girl. I've also been looking at Minifee Karsh or Luka.

    5. I'd recommend the MNF boys from Fairyland. Though a lot of them look feminine on the company website, they are very easily made manly through the use of the right face up. There's a few you can check out in the database threads and you'll see what I mean.

    6. Planetdoll has just released their 45cm MSD boy, Dandy. He has washboard abs, and possibly a cheaper option if you're looking for other than Fairyland.

    7. PandaGirl- the shape. Its a neat shape but I like more expressive eyes.

I don't mind if he's a little taller. My girl msd is 43cm, so it would be kind of neat to have a boy that's a little taller than that.

I'm off to check out Fairyland and Planetdoll.

    8. The MSD Narin is a nice boyish looking sculpt, especially the new Dragonfly version. And the Lati Blue Line boys are quite masculine with washboard abs.

    9. Orientdoll Dae, Limhva Limho Mono seems masculine enough.
Iplehouse Ryan have a beautiful male body.
Leekeword Wien (with proper faceup) may be interesting.

    10. Oh, do get an AR Cien! There can never be too many Ciens on the board!
[/ end of speech of Cien ambassadour]

Here I have my manliest boy Jyo, a Dolkot Yun on an JID boy body. You don't get more muscle than this (although the MiniFée are a fair match!)

Annnnd one of my two Ciens just because I think he's quite manly =3

    11. darkawaii- what brand is he? I like him.

I'm not so much concerned with body sculpt, as he'll be wearing clothes. I want a manly looking face.

    12. I'm looking for a masculine looking male sculpt - I like DiM Happy New Boy Body (he's 47.5 cm tall) but my problem is finding a masculine looking head to go with the body!

I think what would take MSD male dolls farther in looking typically male is finding a head with a stronger/squarer jaw line, and less rounded cheeks - more planes an angles. I am tempted to start ordering round cheeked boy heads and start filing them down...

    13. Okay, I can appreciate the pretty-boy look that most of the male BJDs have these days, however that is not the style I'm looking for in my upcoming Mei's partner. Are there any MSD male doll faces/bodies that look truly masculine? And . . . erm, are there any out there that don't cost more than $300? :sweat

    14. I second this request. :D

But sadly such dolls are few and far between. Lati Blue boys might fit the bill though, I believe they are $250. Or perhaps one the AOD mini boys, which are $165, if you prefer a more stylized look. Both are around 46cm if I recall correctly.

    15. iplehouse has some pretty masculine lookin bodies but they have baby faces

    16. Angel of Dream are a definite for masculine body molds. They have some serious abs. As for the faces they can lean for either feminine or masculine depending on the face-up. It's not just face-up though that makes the doll masculine it's also the way they are dressed. I find there's a lot of "masculine boys" wearing feminine clothes and it really does take away the boy look.

Here is my own AoD Chen, he's exactly 46 cm:

    17. AoD has awesome bodies for their minis (I have 2 of their boys) and I think both my boys (a Chi and a Min) are quite masculine.

    18. I have to admit I've been . . . um . . . admiring the body molds of the AoD males. There are 2 or 3 faces I might consider as well, especially with the right faceup.
