1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Matching Your Clothes with your Dolls!

Apr 7, 2018

    1. I saw some threads about dolls in cosplay, and I was curious specifically if anyone has done corresponding costumes for both yourself and your doll (either cosplay or halloween type costumes)

What would be some fun characters for that kind of pairing? Bonus points if one is actually tiny in the source material

I only go to one anime convention a year but I want to think about doing this for next time :whee: It would be so cute!

Have you done this with your dolls? What matching costumes would you choose if you could?

    2. I think a Peter Pan and Tinker bell would be fun! I mean, back in the day Peter was played by a lady lol

Or maybe Coraline and her doll? Just have to put on the buttons with putty.

    3. I've dressed as Joy, with a blue-skinned doll as Sadness; unfortunately, I don't have pictures or the doll anymore. It's a lot of fun to put together matching costumes!

    4. If I had to do it I would probably pick something not very glamorous like Ash and Pikachu. Team Rocket costumes are often a crowd pleaser.
Or Alice in Wonderland and Cheshire or rabbit mad Hatter (lots of choices I guess). Any magical girl and her weird little companion would be fun (western media version might be Sabrina and Salem)
Those are all kind of the same concept in way :sweat

I don't think I have any great ideas because it's not something I would realistically do (since I hate being looked at) but it's always really fun to think up.

Possibilities are endless. Like: waitress and Hamburger :XD: I can already imagine the tiny hamburger costume.

    5. This one might be a little silly but you could always go as Sylvester the cat and Tweety bird! You could also go for Monsters Inc. with a younger doll dressed as Boo or as Mortician or Gomez from the Addams Family with your doll as Wednesday maybe! The last one I could think of was maybe going as Ariel and Flounder haha

    6. I love all these cute ideas guys! :love

    7. For a long while I was working on an American Mcgee's Alice: Madness Returns. There is a whole dynamic in the second game where Alice is half way in Wonderland and half way in the real world as she deals with stuff (Gothic Horror with mental health). I wanted to do Alice's Traditional Blue dress that is her starting dress for the game, and I wanted to dress my doll in her 'real world' dress, that way I could take pictures of the Wonderland Alice carrying the broken real world Alice.

    8. This is such a cool idea!! :D I love Alice: Madness Returns. Are you still working on the project?

    9. I put it on hiatus, though I did find the horse shoe necklace I made for myself for the cosplay... I might do it again since I have space and time!

    10. I think Pipimi and Popuko from Pop Team Epic would be really fun!

    11. Ash from evil dead and his evil minis would be humorous.

    12. I sewed myself a skirt, and with the left over fabric, I sewed my doll a skirt in the same style!

    13. I did when I went to resin rose! Me and my very first doll I ever bought had matching strawberry lolita chords on. I got so many compliments on it. I often will match with my doll of the day and their aesthetic if I can in some way.
