@Luckyl your Fang is gorgeous! Excellent choice of colours on her, they go so well! I'm curious what eyes you have in her?

 

Thank you! Yes, the resin match is pretty good. I got really lucky because I got the Fang head in hope that it would work with the Maskcat body that I already had. I also can't wait to see what Jatzu does with your girl. I am living with my girl's face-up for a while before I add anything because the sculpt seems to be telling me that less is more.

Thank you so much fansea! The wig color has driven all my styling, eye color, and face-up choices so far. She looks good in black wigs also, but so far I am loving this silvery mixed one on her. She has 14mm Kok Doll Collection eyes in. They seem more like 12mm compared to other brands, but in the style I ordered they don't leave any gaps so they work well for her.

 

I have plenty ideas for both Fang and Ophelia, I can't wait to get them started properly i.e. actually get my hands on fang and get Ophelia a face-up and body!

This might be a very basic question, but I was wondering about wigs, I'm guess it's awkward so 8-9 is too big and 7-8 too small? What have you guys found?

 

Have fun getting your girls together! It is so interesting to see how the initial visions play out based on trial, error, and what you can find for them. My Fang does best in 8-9 wigs. All the various size 7-8 wigs I tried were too small.

 

@Luckyl thank you! I'm selling two of my older collection and I'm really looking forward to working on new girls I haven't been this excited for dolls for a while!
Thanks so much for the wig info! It has prevented me from buying a 7-8 wig xD Helpful though as I have other 8-9 girls

 

Fang was packaged very well, so I'm not sure what happened. I've contacted Nuria, but I believe she's still on holiday? I'll get a reply as soon as she's able, I'm sure.

Anyway! @kamia I tried her in one of my 8-9 wigs, which I use on my Soom Heliot, and it actually fit very well, even though it's a hard cap. I also had an old 7-8 wig on hand that isn't a hard cap, and it does fit, but I can't figure out if it looks just a little off because it's an old wig (some of the hair is out of place, sort of) or if it's because it's just a smidge too small. I wish I had some pictures for you but the 7-8 is black and nearly impossible for me to photograph right now. I might be able to throw one up of the 8-9 soon though.

@ThrowMyFaith Wow soooo prettyyyy! I love the little fist hand so much Can't wait to see mine :P Ooooo now I might have to buy the 7-8 wig again because it would be peeeerfect for Ophelia... Still undecided on what Fang will need :P Thanks for the info on the eyes too Always handy to know what people are using. I have a pair of 14mm I thought might suit her but maybe she'll need new 12mms

Is it cool to talk about Olathe in here? Because I ordered her. So excited!

 

I actually just heard back from Nuria! She says I'm the second person to contact her about a broken fang (!), and she's going to talk to the casting company to see about replacements. I really hope they agree! I feel so bad for the other fang owner as well. My break, at least, isn't visible from the front. I hope theirs isn't worse.

I don't think there's a reason we shouldn't be able to talk about Olathe! Same company, same size doll, right?

 

@Cydril I think it's okay to talk about Olathe and Ophelia here. I know Merry has her own thread. Ideally they should merge? I'm not sure. I've been talking about Ophelia :P Congrats on ordering Olathe! She's fantastic. Did you get Cookie Olathe?

@ThrowMyFaith Eeek! Kinda scary this happened more than once. Do we know if it's just the caramel resin that's impacted?? I'm kinda worried now that my second hand one has to be shipped twice more before she gets to me :/ It must be happening in transit right?... Because they obviously weren't sent like that! Yeah, whilst it's terrible to have a damaged girl, at least it's somewhere covered by a wig I guess.... But still is upsetting! Especially now as you may have to wait for a replacement and of course as it's part of the head then you'd need to re-do any face-up work you wanted to get done.... I want to send you a hug!

 

@kamia , thanks! Yes, I got cookie skin. Ive been looking for a doll to play an older woman for a while, and I think Olathe could be a really badass 50 year old, with the right faceup, and maybe a grey wig

Thats good that maybe youll get a replacement @ThrowMyFaith . A broken head of all things really shouldn't be acceptable.

 

@Cydril I can totally see that working for her! Olathe's face has some wisdom carved into it for sure, I can't wait to see these plans develop ^_^

 

@kamia Most likely only the caramel, yeah. I don't want you to worry though!! I'm sure yours will be fine.

I'm imagining a cooking skin Olathe in a grey wig with an older faceup and that...sounds awesome. I still have no idea what color wig I want for my girl, . I like the idea of a dark red or purple, to go with her eyes, but finding that without bangs is proving difficult.

 

I think it would be good if we could combine all the threads and just make a Merry Doll Round thread. I assume someone would have to contact an admin about it but I'm not sure exactly.

 

My Fang now has a name - Khulan and her own wig! She's still waiting on her eyes and will be off to the face up artist tomorrow !

Ah! I´m so happy this thread is alive once more! A friend of mine recently gave a new faceup to my girl Holly, it´s very subtle but I really really like it.

 

They both look so good!!
