1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Miriam first, I am so fine--new from Roxy Doll

Mar 29, 2007

    1. I don't like her (namely because she reminds me too much of a close friend that was a cutter), but I wouldn't begrudge anyone if they liked her. She would imo, make a great doll for a Halloween fan or a gore (etc) fan... neither of which are me. <3?

    2. EEK, what next-a doll with cigarette burns all over her body? I have a friend with Bi-polar and other disorders who is a cutter and a burner--although meds usually keep her in check. I think this doll is awful, and she makes me sad and also angry. It's like exploiting two things--mental illness and violence against women. JUST MY OPINIONS.

I like sweet and pretty dolls. They are my escape from the "real" world.

    3. Eh, I like her. Then again, I'm a fan of pushing the envelope, and a company releasing a doll like that is certainly pushing the envelope.

I see that the page says the ordering period ended June 15th, but you can still add her to your cart. If she is still available, I may seriously consider ordering her. She'd make an awesome ghost.

    4. Ooo, let me know if you end up with one! I was curious about the ordering too, since the date is long since past. I can't imagine she sold well, though I really love her. I thought my girl was the only one on DoA, but just found out that there is one more, she just hasn't been added to the database yet (plus there is at least one miriam second). The sculpt and painting are gorgeous, but she's really kicky and twisty. I haven't done anything to fix that with mine, but she could use some wiring or something.
I'm in the process of making a costume for Vesper, as we have a Halloween meet-up and theme is "Dark Fantasy". All of my other dolls are sweetness and light. They couldn't pull off dark fantasy if they tried. So Vesper is dressing up and representing for the group.:)

    5. I love her! I find her disturbingly beautiful tbh. Tho i dont think the cuts are entirely realistic.
My problem is, i can see other people finding her very disturbing, so i dont think id ever keep her out or admit to other people that i own her. So i dont know.

    6. She's available now on the Notdoll Lab site again as a nude non-LE, and you can choose to order her with faceup (without face scarring) or faceup (with face scarring) for no additional charge, and the body scarring is about $40 extra.

So an option for those who love the doll but not the makeup, but those who liked the makeup can still get a chance to get her. (Miriam Second's also available...I can't tell if it's the original LE, but her description indicates she doesn't come with clothes...so make of that what you will)

    7. I just noticed today that she was back as a nude on NotDoll. I was hoping they would eventually offer a non-scarred version of her (apart from the Miriam II fullset). I've brought Vesper along to several meets, and many people love her sculpt. A lot of folks have said that they would love to have her, if only they could get a less-ghoulish version. It really is a pretty sculpt, the photos don't do it justice. She's very delicate, and her face is just beautiful. It would be great to see more Miriams around, particularly since I don't sew, and I'd like to see NotDoll eventually make dresses for her. (Ulterior motive revealed! :sweat) )

    8. I think she's going on the list, second to a Delf Art doll I'm currently saving like mad for XDD I actually kind of like the scarring for her character concept (she'd be a companion to a demon lord), but I have plenty of time to mull over my decisions until I get the chance to get her ^___^

Heh, I'm sure it would be nice for more clothing to be released for her. She's kind of an odd size, isn't she?

    9. She's surprisingly small for such a mature sculpt. She's too small for 1/6 scale clothing, but a little too large for some of the other tiny things that are out there. I wish she'd come with little slippers or shoes of some kind, as her feet are super teensy, and I haven't found anything to fit them.

    10. i would love to have that doll (with the makeup) but I don't get along with dolls that size.

    11. I have both Miriams and love them. They where ment to be the heroines from a book, twin sisters of which one was said to be a witch. The other was a nun, but took her place and was tortured instead.

But when the second Miriam arrived, she decided to be Snow white instead.

    12. Bump for this thread because I am really intrigued by this doll. I'm not a fan of gore or ickiness, but I don't find that Miriam's cuts are stomach-churning to me. I rather like the creepier more morbid dolls that this company puts out. I like beautiful, feminine, girly dolls as well but there is something about Miriam and the princess doll (it's the 2nd one, I think) that I find interesting. I don't own one yet, but I would not rule it out in the future.

    13. I love Miriam...but not with the cuts. I have scars and I don't hide them all the time but I still see that doll as glorifying torture (self mutilation) and I don't understand why she's allowed on DoA at all. I'm glad that at the least they made the rules such that she has to be clothed.

    14. Yeah, she is not allowed to be depicted unless she is clothed. I think it glorifies violence as well, so it is not my cup of tea.

    15. I love her sculpt, I didn't realize she was a tiny at first.

Though I do like it a little better without the scars. I don't find them creepy, in that they look a little bit like raspberry jam to me. They just look...out of place.

    16. I only found out that such a doll exist yesterday which is horrifing..I mean, because I looked so hard to find a small scale doll (30 cm max) with the perfect joints. I ended up buying a Soom Mini Gem Aren which is beautiful but now I really regret it. I want a Miriam Second Edition! To further increase drama..my Aren didn't even get shipped yet so now I have to wait for her to get here so I can sell her and get a Miriam. And I spent 400$ on my Aren so that she'd get a custom face-up and body blushing.. -_-

    17. Miriam has such a lovely body sculpt, she's gorgeously curvy even at such a tiny size... it would be great if NotDoll would put some pictures of her without the body "painting" if you call it that - up on the site.... I think she'd sell to a lot wider range of people if they werent so distracted or off-put by the depiction of cutting....
