It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Mirodoll Robert Downey Jr Minimee Discussion Thread

    1. Yay :dance Doodle_Penguin you and I both got in so she will be doing them at the same time! It will be fun to see how similar or not our guys turn out. I got some 10mm eyes at the market today (had to use green putty) and there is a small gap but they will do for now. The 12mm iris just looks way to big. My brown fur wig has been shipped so it will be here when he gets back from his trip to New York.

Edit: added pic with the 10mm eyes (and green putty!)

    2. Very nice Kavarr! Very nice! I ended up getting a lighter brown pair. The dark ones I ordered ended up causing me Nothing but trouble. The sent me green ones and are now telling me That those are what I ordered.

    3. Did you use paypal Doodle_Peguin? You may be able to claim there for being sent the wrong color. They only had a much lighter pair at the market and they were golden looking so I knew they would not work. The dark ones can disappear a bit into a dark dot but I will see how they go and eventually get ones that fit better. Either way our boys are in with AngelToast so we know they will end up looking amazing :)

    4. Exactly. I'll get it all worked out with the eyes. But Kavarr I gotta ask? AngelToast confirmed my spot but I've yet to receive an invoice to pay her? Have you got yours? Maybe she's still sending them out? I'm getting a little paranoid!

    5. Shapeways sent my shipping notice Sherlock's arc reactor watch fob is on it's way!
I'll have to post him with it when it gets here.

    6. So so Jealous SteamWitch! I'm Still waiting for them to ship mine!!

    7. Don't worry Doodle_Penguin I haven't got my invoice yet either. She take a few days to work out different costs etc... and send them. Also she may wait till she has a few to send off. Don't stress she will not forget you.
I too got my shipping notice for the arc reactor today SteamWitch! Now I need to pick up one of those cheaper drill bits and start modding his chest. I look forward to seeing Sherlock with his fob watch. I think he will have a very steampunk look happening.

    8. I got my arc reactor in the mail :D Need to do a second order Just In Case, but I'm holding off on that until next paycheck. I did find a wig on ebay that will stand in until I can save up the money for a custom short wig for him (or figure out how to make one myself) and a tank top to go with the jeans I already bought. Still need shoes, but I'm waiting until I have him for those. He'll just have to go barefoot until then... I'm really hoping the 12mm eyes I bought work, after seeing what issues everyone else has been having!

    9. Which arc reactor did you go for mysoultokeep? The eyes you got may be fine. I find there is often a slight variation in iris size so yours may just work out. The 10mms do leave a little gap which is a pain.
I got the invoice Doodle_Penguin and my boy is off to AngelToast. It sure adds up with the shipping cost from here but he will be worth it.

    10. Oh that looks cool. Particularly in that color it does look steampunk to me. He is looking good!

    11. I Don't Know Why I'm SO Nervous!! I shipped my boy out today. We had issues the other day but those turned to be in our favor since the wig I ordered him as well as the eyes came yesterday! So I just sent them all to AngelToast! But for Some reason I have all this Nervous Energy!!

    12. They look great SteamWitch. I'm quite excited as it's will be the first thing I have ever had 3D printed. I am amazed at what can be 3D printed and all the endless possibilities.
I think it's excitement Doodle_Penguin. When you have something like this being completely custom it is exciting! I can't wait to see how our guys turn out. I didn't send the eyes along but you are getting the eyes modded for size aren't you?
I need to get that cheaper drill bit and start making some test holes! I got my money back for the expensive one but was in a hurry that day so didn't get the other.

    13. I have gotten 3D printed wings for my Michi and they are okay, they aren't smooth or particularily well done but with paint they work.
I can tell the difference between those wings that they print themselves (probably on an older printer) and these from Shapeway. I am very happy with the metal fob in particular, just amazing, the heft of it is great.

    14. 3D printing is not yet a truly useful medium. Apart from the print quality (which is usually appalling on home owned 3D printers), the learning curve is very steep, and the medium is very demanding of the designers.

But I'm glad you like the fobs, SteamWitch. I did try my best to find the best printservice in town. And Shapeways printers cost in the millions, and as they say: you gets what you pays for.

On another note: All but 2 dolls have arrived, and the rest is in transit, so happy :dance

    15. I'm so thrilled right now! I got my boy yesterday and the 12mm eyes seem to work okay. I put the jeans I bought for him on him, but oops, I should have washed them first, so now I'm giving him a rub down with a magic eraser... he'll be naked until the jeans stop bleeding colour so bad (they're on wash #3). Can't wait until his wig comes in and then when I can send him to buffdolls for his face up (in two weeks). While he's getting his face done, I'll be working on his arc reactor. EEEEEEE!

    16. Your probably right Kavarr. I was a Nervous wreck in the post office!! I was terrified to mail him! Which made me feel ridiculous! He wasn't even leaving the U.S.! I mailed my other babies half way around the work for face ups!! I was just Ghahh! And I sent both his eyes and wig for AngelToast to use if she needed to. I figure his wig would be good for cope matching his beard. And I ended up with the same eyes SteamWitch got. They fit really well but I still asked AngelToast about maybe shaping the eye wells just the tiny bit. But she never got back to me so I have no idea if she is or not. Now I'm waiting on his reactor! They Finally shipped it out! But it's still out in New York! So in the mean time it's time to start working on cloths!!

    17. Well, I think I've gotten the jeans to stop bleeding colour. Rubbed them on a bit of white cloth and no colour transferred, so I'm going to try them on Tony again after I hotglue suede him. Need to get some wire so I can wire him up too.

Did anyone else play with his elastic so the knots were in the body cavity instead of in the head? I had to so I could even get his head on! Took some tugging and pulling, but I managed!

    18. Yes, I restrung him so the knot was in the cavity, it was a bear getting his head on with the knots on the hook so I didn't try. His first day was spend mostly in pieces. I wish I'd sueded him then but I will probably do it next week.

I used a 12gauge solid copper wire but it was like I had done nothing. I was hoping the suedeing will help if not, I might have to use a 10gauge wire. ugh.
