1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Modding - How Far are You Willing to Go?

Dec 21, 2010

    1. I'm not comfortable with major mods.

I've considered them... thought of dyeing bodies and shaving off toes and such... but have not done it so far and am hesitant to get into it.

The most I've done is slightly opened eyes--and this on very rare and expensive heads, so it's not as if THAT bothers me...

I am just the type that doesn't feel the need to really alter a doll. I buy dolls that I really like already, and with all the variation coming out these days, I have found that companies will eventually cater to my tastes and make the perfect doll for me without me having to mod anything! :)

    2. It depends quite a bit on the doll. I would love to add a 'mobility joint' on the thigh of my Amber for her human legs. However, seeing the rarity of the cream white female bodies nowadays, it's highly doubtful I will ever get the guts to do it. Otherwise, seam sanding and eye beveling will possibly be the only mods I would be capable of doing.

However, one of the girls I will be getting in the future has some scarring on her hands and arms. This will be done.

So call me on that line of 'what needs to be done, but within the personal comfort level'. Aka I'm mod-shy.

    3. As far as needs be in order to achieve my desired goal. I have a Heliot on a Souldoll body and he's being modded heavily to include a jointed reptilian tail, has a jointed mechanical arm and is going to have bone protrusions as well as be hollowed out through the chest further to support a series of green LED lights to produce an unsettling glow. His hooves are going to be modded to look cracked, peeling and wet. I think it all depends on what you want.
