Lovely girl, Lil Spark! I'd like to introduce my Michelle Momocolor Michelle von Icequeen's world auf Flickr
trinlayk, your Sango is so cute! I love her little dress. She looks like she's ready for a tea party. What kind of doll is Galadriel? She's gorgeous!
I'm making a wig for my Girl of the Alps Sophie. Hopefully I will be able to share a photo tomorrow - if it is passable!
She's an Asella Choco-Raspberry, she just arrived recently from Jpopdolls. She's such a different shape from everyone else around here, making clothes is being an adventure.
Hey guys, I have a question. I'm considering getting a Momocolor(hybriding it with a Soom Smokey head) and I'm kinda worried about their poseability. I was going to look for a Chibi Unoa, but I fell in love with the momocolor 29 bodies! How are they to handle? I saw a review on youtube and they seem..loose. Can they sit properly? Can they hold their arms out without any issue? How is the resin? Do they break easily? EDIT: Forgot to ask, does normal YoSD clothes from various stores fit them? =)
Is there a Momocolor 29cm resource thread somewhere? I'd like to know what clothes and shoes won't fit....
I'm pretty sure most Yo-SD clothes would fit. The most you would have to do is find longer pants for her.
Well, they are a lot less expensive than a Unoa Chibi, so that's a plus right there. The 29s are beautiful, but I've found the hip joints on mine a bit of a challenge...the legs want to rotate to the back, so she's not as solid a stander as she could be. This could be fixed easily by sueding or wiring, I just haven't had it done yet. The resin is very nice, no brittleness at all (though, to be honest, I've never had an issue with any resin doll breaking "easily"). Clothing...pants will be short, but I've never had anything not fit widthwise. Arabesque by clochette62, on Flickr
In my experience (which is admittedly not huge) my Momocolor 29 cm Lucy poses GORGEOUSLY. She's a solid stander and her arms, while single-jointed, can bend pretty far. Her arms definitely will stay if positioned out straight. She's not able to straighten her arm completely - it's more like the angle you hold your arm just before you lock your elbow - but I think the angle is very graceful. The tops of her thighs have a kind of oddly shaped string hole/slot (it looks like a plus sign) which does make her legs tend to twist around, but I hot-glue sueded the insides of her thigh cavities and it's helped immensely. If you do get one and hot suede there, I'd suggest one continuous line of hot glue, because small dashes of glue tend to get caught on the string slots ^^;; I do think my Lucy can sit pretty well, especially if I make sure her legs are positioned correctly (so that her strings snap into the string slots on her thighs). She poses like a dream in comparison with my RS Mei, who (in spite of restringing, sueding, and wiring) still can barely stand. Normal YoSD clothes fit except that the legs on pants are a little short on the 29 cm body. She just looks like she's wearing pedal pushers :3 Sometimes shirt sleeves are a bit short too (they look like 3/4 sleeves) but I have a sweatshirt I got on Etsy where the sleeves came down to the YoSD model's knuckles, and it fits perfectly on my Momcolor doll. The resin is so lovely - it has a nice tooth and a velvety sort of texture.
