1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Momocolor Tiny discussion part 2

Jul 23, 2013

    1. Thanks for posting that link Little Spark...I recommend anyone thinking of ordering to read that thread.

I am coming out of lurk here...
I had two orders with MoMocolor a year ago.
The first for a 29 cm body only...shipped in a timely manner. I requested but never was given tracking.
My second order was for an expensive limited...another 29 doll. I wrote and begged for tracking three times...I was never answered. The doll just showed up, thankfully! In about four days when they marked my status shipped.

I have only owned dolls with 29 body. They are beautiful and graceful to look at at. They are more mature but still fit in many clothing items bought for YoSD size kiddos. I mostly was annoyed with the elbows as they were never fully straight unless I popped them out of the joint, do you know what I mean?
The thighs ...that joint will spin unless you glue/ suede. I also filled one of the four slots ( I think the back one) so the elastic would not go there.

I have adopted both of my dolls out.

    2. I'm still doubting if I should hunt for another upper body + head for my mermaid tail. Somehow I still hope they will pop up out of nowhere one of these days.

    3. I've always liked Momocolor sculpts and I wasn't aware they were having issues with delays and customer service. I ordered Gaon in early December and it looks like I should have done more research first.

I'm prepared to wait of course but it's never the wait that bothers me... it's the lack of communication! I've just been through an almost one year wait with D-Storic and I don't want to go through that all over again :(

    4. Hate to say it zelie, but if you're still in the 45 day period for a PayPal claim, I suggest trying to get your money back. If you're not, then you might have a very long, communication-less wait ahead of you. And that's assuming they'll eventually send any more orders at all. Seems like everyone has tried and failed to contact them.

    5. But you can all get your money back, right? I mean, otherwise it would count as scamming I think.

    6. Most of us are past the PayPal claim period, so no.. If enough of us try to open disputes anyway, paypal may choose to do something, but it probably won't mean getting refunded unless momocolor volunteers to do so. And right now they aren't responding to anything. They may send our dolls eventually, in which case it wouldn't be a scam, but we have no way of knowing... :atremblin

    7. I just randomly looked into this thread, and I'm sad that Momocolor is treating their customers this way. Something similar happened to me back in 2011 with Ringdoll - no communication for 5 months. I did eventually get the dolls (and I think everyone else did too), so hoping that the same happens for all of you. When I ordered from Momocolor last Spring, I never had any replies to emails, but I got my dolls without problems (except they sent the wrong color fist hands).

    8. I was frustrated with the really poor service I received from MC when I ordered my Sophie at the end of the year. It's really disappointing to hear it's got worse. I don't know if this has already been done, but once you are beyond your waiting time period it might be worth mentioning it to one of the mods and leaving company feedback. DoA certainly won't want MC advertising new dolls if they are not shipping their existing orders.

    9. I feel bad for all of those who haven't received their dolls yet. I think I was lucky and got my in before Momocolor started down this road. I would definitely leave feedback so that others are aware of what's going. I really hope things get better and Momocolor will start sending out dolls. These dolls truly are wonderful and I would be really unhappy if I haven't received my doll after such a long time. I think a lot of people will end up hating their dolls because of what they had to go through to get them. If anyone wants a Momocolor girl, I advice buying secondhand.

Here's Melody spam to cheer everyone up. She hopes you guys don't have to wait much longer.

    10. I actually contacted the mods last week about it but didn't post because the answer is still pending... I'll post their response when they do. Smudge, would you mind if I asked when you ordered? Most of us who haven't received our dolls ordered October or later. Melody is soooo pretty Stokiaci. Hopefully we do end up getting our dolls so we can have some as pretty as her.And thank you everyone for the sympathy.

    11. Gosh, Melody is just so adorable. It still leaves me hope that the dolls will be shipped out soon. I haven't bought anything besides shoes for her so far, I wasn't sure if I'm even going to keep her or not. But that picture of Melody is just so gorgeous. Maybe my girl will be too beautiful to part with. :)

    12. I ordered at the end of July and paid of my layaway at the end of August. I can't remember exactly when she arrived but I know I had some dolls arrive in October and she was just a bit before or after - I can't recall which. Actually, it wasn't too long to wait compared to Lati but it was the lack of communication that got everyone worrying. Hopefully, it is just a communication problem and you will still receive your dolls. I'd try not to worry about it too much. I did and consequently couldn't bond with my Sophie.

    13. I'm really sad that Momocolor has dropped the ball with orders, as I've been yearning for a Sophie or Lucy for a while now, but hopefully there will be opportunities to pick one up second-hand. Wow. It is really too bad. The company seemed so responsive at first. Good luck to all of you still waiting on delivery.

    14. Mod discussions take time, since we're not all on at the same time or even every day, and everyone has to get a chance to see and participate. Our consensus is that we will keep an eye on Momocolor, but there's nothing for us to do at this time.

Frankly, nothing yet from an October/November order is not that long a wait for those of us who have been in the hobby for many years. Even bigger companies like Soom have had wait-times up to six months or longer, and Dollshe took over a year or more at one point. Then there was CustomHouse, who kept running half-off specials with many News blurbs, even tho their regular orders or orders from previous specials hadn't shipped out yet and wait-times were over seven months. They were masters at making promises of shipping in their Q&A that were repeatedly broken, but in the end, all dolls were delivered. LittleMonica and Ringdoll had lengthy delays and bad communication.

We are a fan-run forum; we can report on doll companies and host discussions about those companies, but we do not and can't possibly dictate how those companies run their businesses. We're not a specialty consumer protection organization and as per our ToS, the forum (and mods) don't arbitrate disputes between two members or between members and companies (look at all the mentions of Fairyland's periodic customer service/doll quality complaints).

It looks like the company sabotaged their own reputation by being able to ship out relatively right away around the time they started up, at the end of 2012. They may have started the company with a first-casting-order of dolls in their inventory and ready to go. But that quick turnaround time is not at all common, especially from ongoing companies. We don't know how big or how small the company is - it may well be only 1-3 people. However, their website is still there, their FB page is still there, although edited, and an attempt at communication was made (the mass email in January). It does look like dolls are going out, although at a terribly slow pace.

I will put a post into their most recent News item (mid-December),with a warning and a link to the Waiting Room and Discussion threads. Their previous News blurb was only from last October, and then some from back in September.

If the issue isn't resolved after a lengthier period of time, as in their website and FB page disappear, and they no longer contact anyone, even via a mass email, and no more dolls are sent or money is returned, then we can ban the rep and/or company. But, as I said before, at this point, it's really not a unique situation in this hobby, unfortunately.

    15. I am really glad I happened to look at this thread. Late last year I had intended to buy a Momocolor doll but got really turned off to purchasing anything when I had a doll deal go bad. Otherwise, I would be right here with the rest of you. For the time being, I am going to monitor this thread and stay away from Momocolor until I hear that the situation has improved. It's probably little consolation to those of you who are waiting, but I really appreciate the info.

    16. It's good that the mods posted a warning on the latest ad page. So now anyone who clicks through there will have an idea of what they're getting into. And the mods think there is still a chance our dolls will eventually show, so I'll try to still have hope that our orders will eventually arrive.

    17. Hello.
I am a Russian intermediary Momocolor.
Last time responded to the my letter on 13 January and sent 3 trackers order.
We are all very tired too, that Momocolor rarely answers on emails.
I do not know anything about their problems, but I'm sure that all orders will be shipped sooner or later.

    18. Hiiii there~!
I'm getting a Bonnie in a few months! So excited!! And I wanted to know if the 29 body (the one she has) poses as bad as people told me D:

    19. If you just ordered a doll directly from Momocolor, you might want to consider opening a Paypal dispute...
