1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Momocolor Tiny discussion part 2

Jul 23, 2013

    1. Oh wow, I'm really not all that shocked by this change. Did Momocolor sell the entire brand, molds and everything? I really hope that it's not just some clever name change..Shame on them if that's the case..if not...Does anyone know if they be making sure that everyone who is waiting on orders receive their dolls?

    2. Girls with Russian forum got trackers on December orders.
I think it is necessary to write to the company, True now site does not work, the word at all ((

    3. I really love my Emily that just arrived! Hope momocolor will get it together because their dolls are fantastic.

Unfortunaly I messed up the faceup when I was sealing it*_* No name yet...

    4. I am a bit sad to hear the reason for the name change was that Momocolor was sold, but I cannot say I am surprised by it. The newer dolls on their website (The new Lucy, Matilda, and Michelle) do not have the amazing face-ups the company once offered, but something more simplistic. They also do not appear to be doing business with Enchanted Doll eyes anymore, either. When I had placed my order back in December, I ordered a pair of ED eyes through Momocolor. When my order shipped, they stated they could not get me the eyes, as they were not in stock. They had since December to place the order, so I am wondering if they lost a contract to sell ED eyes over this whole mess. It took them nearly a week and a half to refund me that money, and just as long to figure out what doll they sent me (as she did not look like Gaon).

Despite the mess, I absolutely love my doll. The engineering behind her makes her pose really well for a single jointed doll! My girl is on the Momo26 body. I notice dthat compared to my other Yo-SD sized dolls, she has such tiny and dainty looking hands. It can be an issue with some long sleeve clothing, but it looks perfect for her. I also love the fact she can tilt her head in a more natural fashion that most other dolls. If I knew that everyone had bought there dolls finally received them and they were trying to communicate better with their customers, I would have kept the Gemma head that I got with my order. As of right now, I just do not wish to deal with Momocolor/Momotree ever again... Even if their girls are gorgeous.

    5. I won't deal with them again, either... I love my 4 Momo girls but I won't get any new ones. Especially since they are really rising the prices...

    6. The prices look the same as before, blank doll-wise. But the prices for a face-up went up by $10, and are not worth the price adjustment! Now, if the face-ups were like the older ones, then I could see why it would go up. But these new face-ups in the promo pictures are just... meh, compared to them. I would only but a body and more sets of hands are this point, but I am hesitant because of the hell I was put through for my doll to begin with.

    7. More hands would be fun, but if the company changed hands they might change the resin. I feel lucky to have gotten four lovely dolls from the secondary market. I may just stop there!

    8. I don't think I'd buy anything from them again either. While the new management seems promising and I love the girl I already have I don't think there is anything else I could possibly want from them, unless they made different option hands.
NicoleWagner, your new girl is very cute! I'm glad that you love her, even despite the terrible journey to get her. You say the 26 body is well-engineered? I have heard that it was a significant improvement compared to the 29 body (I think when they started they only had the 29 body?). My Lucy is on the 29 and while she looks graceful I can't say she actually is. I can see how they were trying to make her hips awesome and really pose-able, but its a mess and consequently she doesn't do much of anything well. If I ever needed another taller-than-standard and thin body I think I might try SQ Labs

    9. The Momo26 does very well, so far. My only issue is that I need to suede the bottom of my doll's head to work properly with the + cut in the neck. She either tilts her head all the way to one side, or the other. Getting it to stay facing forward or slightly tilted to one side is a challenge! The ball joints in the thigh I found to be REALLY useful! They really add to all the ways I can pose her legs, and the thighs have a mobility joint of sorts that make her legs look more natural if I were to pose her feet turned inward a little. It takes a bit to get used to the leg jointing on the Momo26, but when you do, you can really do some amazing stuff! Though I imagine the Momo29 looks better in jean shorts than the Momo26. The Momo29's legs look so nice, but I heard the ball joint in the thigh (Which is similar to the Momo26) caused many issues. With the 26, they added small pegs in the ball joint of the thigh. This way it does not twist around without warning.

I also love the fact that the Momo26 feet fit Volks shoes with socks on really well! They can even wear Volks brand dresses, though their little hands make the tops of dresses or shirts look too big at times. I do not mind that, as it just makes my girl look more cutesy in dresses.

    10. I had trouble with my 29 body standing until I rotated the top leg piece so the little bump fits in the groove in the hip piece. Then stood the first time I tried!

    11. Nancy_schroeder_ca I can see how that would have been a problem for standing! The bump is in the groove on my girl, it's just the + in the hips that really makes me crazy.
NicoleWagner yes, the + joints really are a blessing and a curse all at once! I love the posing options it gives, but my girl's head is always slightly to one side too, like a confused puppy! The 29 legs really are beautifully sculpted, they are so pretty I keep her in shorts and dresses so I can see them.
Yes, you're right, it is the ball joint in her hips that causes all the problems. There is a huge + carved into them, like HUGE, and when I pick her up the legs just fling all over like a jellyfish. I can't seem to find a functional use for any of the slots except the longest one in the front which is for sitting. All the other poses I could dream of are achievable with just that slot. The hip sockets and full bottom prevent any ballerina action from going on, though I've come to terms with that. I've considered several times the option of filling all the other slots with Apoxie so she'll stop flinging around.

Shoes and even clothes aren't terribly difficult for the 29. I have a pair of cheaper shoes that fit her well both with and without socks. Unfortunately, I don't have any other shoes to try on her as almost every other doll in my crew has hooves, lol. I have her in a strapless dress made by Nurlindae (I'm not sure if she's in this thread, but she was in the waiting room) for Yo-sd size and while slightly short on her long long legs it actually fits really well. I was most nervous about the fact she has what I would call "newly blossoming boobs", but they don't affect clothes too much. The dress is tighter so you can see them, but when I put her in a Spampy t-shirt for Yo-sd you really couldn't even tell they were there.

    12. I'm really surprised to hear about the change at Momocolor, but hopefully it will be for the best and people will see better service. I just wanted to share a photo of my Sophie as I don't think I've done so since she arrived last year! Poor girl is terribly neglected. [IMG]

    13. How many opinions appeared intersnyh))) I like the new girl at the firm, but I need only the body until))) The second head haunts me)))
I agree with obsolyutno opinion about chic sculptor feet and hands, and what that strange hinged legs. I overtighten Karina and her long limbs treated her, trying to understand the idea and realized that I was not given. For all my ideas, feet have been interchanged with those of propylene and stoppers buyout they have))) So I collected it as it was taped and it's not much help, but now she folds her knees inside, like a child who wants the toilet and shooting takes more time to eliminate this defect)

    14. Hi girls!!(and maybe boys!)
I FINALLY have my little girl with me!! I am really in love with her, I sometimes thought that I may wouldn't like her, but not at all!!

Her name is Quenya(the name her first owner gave to her) and here you have some photos of her! I hope you like her as much as I do! Even if she needs a lot of work before being the "tree spirit" she is ^^

    17. olusy; Korinn is adorable and I love her dress!

    18. The Momo sculpts are so gorgeous, even the new ones but I hate the new and way too pink default face-ups...

    19. I agree LilSpark. I do wonder if Momotree is any better, but I'm too scared to order from them. I really like Hazel's wig.

    20. A few days ago, I noticed that ViYa was doing the faceups on the new Limited Editions at Momotree. I love the faceups she did on the Bambicrony's in the early days. So I signed up on their site. The next morning I had an email from Yoon at Momotree. Here is her messaage:

I always got great service from Bambicrony in the early days and decided to put some trust in Yoon and ViYa and I have ordered Windy in tan.
