1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Even with fairly tall male OC's you run into problems.

With a few exceptions, male 1/4 bodies are mostly grouped into 45cm (180cm or 5'11) and then you jump to the sort of mature MSD's like Iplehouse, SartoriaJ, Model Delf's and Granado's smaller men who are between 49cm (194cm or 6'5) and 52cm (208cm or 6'10).

The character I wanted to shell was 6'2. Which is 47cm and that was kind of hard to find, although there are more 47cm bodies coming out. I got lucky and a company released a brand new body that works really really well for him so that's sorted.

    2. All my dolls are completely character driven, and I recently created a fantasy character as an homage to the BBC’s television show “Midsomer Murders”. This summer was the hottest on record, and here in the high desert of Arizona that’s really saying something! We started watching Midsomer in the evenings to help us get through the brutal heat…immersing ourselves in a world of pretty English cottages and cool, dark woods to give ourselves a bit of psychological respite from the heat. It helped! So I was determined to have a character who could fit into that world, reminding me of all those happy viewing hours, and that is what my little forest elf, Brambles, is meant to be…without the murders of course! I wanted a doll who could be a British-based fantasy being who could overlook all those English countryside shenanigans. She’s being shelled into a Fairyland Realfee Toki because that sculpt has the perfect quaint, old-fashioned, curmudgeonly face for this purpose.:)

    3. I'd have been unable to resist calling a Midsomer-inspired pixie Badger's Drift. Or Midsomer Worthy.

(Yeah. Midsomer-watchers over here, too. Though Mr. Bright has taken to calling it "Midsomer Massacres" given the usual body-count of the average episode.)

    4. I was watching a 2nd hand sale, and it was supposed to last a week, the price was reasonable, but I didn't really know if I wanted the doll. I figured I could think about it, and if it sold to someone else in that time, that was fine.

The next day, the doll's price dropped $10, the following day another $10, I was thinking this person must really need the money to keep re-posting and relisting at a lower price. I figured it would be sold by morning, but nope another $10 off...

I couldn't take it, I had to buy the doll because I couldn't stand to see the seller lose another penny on it!

    5. A pre order just went up for a Maydoll Lemoncat. I already pre-ordered one but this one is just so sassy and you can only order a male body. This made me think to pre-order him and make his character a femboy or male who likes to cosplay as female characters in honor of a recent LGBTQIA+ manga i just read called Love me for who I am. I highly recommend it if you're part of the community, especially if you're trans or non-binary. Its a manga about a non binary character named Mogumo journey of self discovery as they're brought to a crossdress maid Cafe by a classmate (their older sibling owns the cafe) who believes they'll find more like-minded people via the employees.

Even though I'm not trans or non-binary, I loved the manga and cried at the end. Its very heartfelt while also covering some hard subjects like disapproval from family. If I do decide to preorder the doll, ill probably name him ten-chan, after one of the cafe employees from the manga.

    6. I currently only have three BJDs, two MSD and one SD, but for a time I also had a fourth who was intended to be a Doll Chateau-Resinsoul hybrid. I got her solely for the reason that — don’t laugh! — I was worried my lone SD boy would be lonely. :XD: She ended up not working out, and now I just try to give my boy lots of kisses to make up for it. ;)
