Movie Character you would like to have as a bjd?

Dec 24, 2014

    1. Really? , i love the movie sadly it went so underrated, my twin dolls are slightly inspired by the Sharpe
it would have been great to see that dolls

    2. Y'all I'm so hyped for the Black Panther movie, the costume designs are just stunning. And I love the way they incorporated textiles from so many African cultures, I'd love a doll based on anyone from that film. Even the background characters (in the preview) look amazing.

Oooh, that would be amazing! Victorian clothes look so nice on dolls, they're so regal. That movie was really underrated.

    3. Bill Nighy!!! Especially how he was looking in the movie Underworld <3

    4. I think Draco from Harry Potter would make a great BJD! Then I’d be tempted to create all the other characters too lol

    5. Not quite from a movie but I think Ryo from Devilman Crybaby would work really well as a BJD. Any character from Houseki no Kuni would be really cool to see as well, especially if their hair managed to seem gem-like. I bet Jojo characters would probably look real snazzy with Araki's clothing designs and all.

    6. Right now, I am contemplating whether I need Black Panther in my crew. A kitty and an Avenger...I think I will wait for the movie. If I like it, I have my next project (as if I hadn't already enough).

    7. Not movie but TV - recently I seem to be growing increasingly obsessed with a Minbari doll. As in trying to figure out how to form the bonecrest on the headcap in a way that the headcap still remains operational, how to deal with the part of the bonecrest that covers the back of the neck, etc. *mumbles* Stupid idea ...

    8. Ah - Babylon 5! I quite liked that series.

One point is that this bone formation covers the head in such a matter that you have to make it in two parts (at least) anyways. So you might as well make the separation where the head cap line runs. You can't make it all in one piece (except you 3D-print it in a flexible material), because you can't get it around the doll's head. It would break.

    9. Yes, that's the conclusion I've come to, too. It would probably be way easier to make a human-Minbari hybrid (like Delenn, for example). Strong magnets in the doll's temples, sculpt a "headband" and clip it on over the wig - done.

Edit: On second thought - a third magnet in the head cap, at the back of the head, so the "headband" doesn't sit crooked or slides down (or is pulled down by its own weight) ...

    10. A while back I posted on here that I wanted Deckard from Blade Runner (1982). Well, after recruiting Namonaki to do a sculpt for me, he’s finally gone for casting! So I made my wish a reality. He’s also the last on my original list of dolls I wanted, so I can stop spending for a while... :XD:

(He may also be Indiana Jones since it I’d just mean changing clothes and hair... and finding a hat...:doh)

    11. Ooooh, Deckard! Don't give me any ideas - Roy Batty would be awesome, too ...

    12. Ha ha ha... true, he’d make a cool bjd. I’d just end up re-enacting the ending, though...

    13. "I've seen - things." ... coolest movie-monologue ever. Even cooler after I found out Rutger Hauer improvised most of it. *siiiigh* They don't make 'em like this anymore. :)

    14. Does it have to be a movie. As I got some anime characters in mind. I like Bruce Lee. but I feel the figures etc don't do him justice.

    15. @VampireAngel13 The funny thing about "will never happen" wish lists is sometimes you get what you wish for! It's happened twice for me, so I hope you'll keep a tiny ray of hope shining for your heart's desires. Life is surprising and sometimes astounding!

    17. TOP sculpt would probably make me want a male doll :D I know it's not a movie character but I don't watch much tv :(

    18. John Wick.

    19. My favorite movie characters are Kylo Ren and General Hux from Star Wars VII and VIII. I've shelled them into dolls already, as a couple :3

    20. Oh, any character played by Emily Blunt, really. (Though Rita's fullset would be the best! :love)
