Jolene got a new look. Once I get through all of my commissions she's going to get repainted, again.

    2. Hi ^^
My Shia (MK Lawrence) has just arrived. I love their dolls, I think that I order another one, yay xD All dolls here are amazing โ™ฅ

    3. Hi, I just wanted to share a photo of my MK Eileen. She's just moved in here - she used to live with Kamia (thank you for letting me adopt her!).

    4. I like how you've styled her!

    5. I wanted to see if Eileen would look good in darker clothes. I bought her a new outfit from Dollmore (Another Space). I'm quite pleased with the result.

    6. Hello!

I'm thinking of finally getting my first SD sized bjd and have searched all the other companies and really like the MK sculpting style. So far Ellis is at the top of the list -he's gorgeous.
I just have a question about finding clothes and shoes. Is it easy?
I have other smaller bjds who are all odd sizes and finding them outfits/shoes/wigs has been a nightmare. That's why I'm thinking of going SD, as I see lots more options for everything -and I am able to find the styles I like everywhere, lol. I have read lots in the SD forums (always lurking), but am a complete noob regarding this size. Any help would be greatly appreciated in helping me to decide if I want to take the plunge and get one for myself. Thanks!

That's interesting, because whenever I'm looking for clothes for my SD boys, I find the opposite to be true for me--I have trouble finding SD sized clothing that I like, because they're usually MSD-sized, haha.
Anyway, I haven't had my MK Lawrence for that long, but I bought a cardigan from Alice's Collections, and it fits quite well. However, it IS meant to be a bit loose, so, hmm... I've also gotten shorts from Alice's Collections for my Lawrence, and although they look a tiny bit big, it's not too bad. I bought both items in SD13 size. It's a little difficult because I think MK SD bodies are slimmer than other SD bodies (or at least, the male ones are). I've also ordered something from IamSunnie on Etsy, but that was custom-sized. However, (and I'm not sure if she does this for all custom requests, but) Sunnie was super nice and didn't charge me for custom. So there's that, if anything. I'm sorry that wasn't too helpful....but good luck with finding clothing. I love MK sculpts so much, I just went ahead and got one anyway, even with knowing that it might be difficult to find clothing. XD''

    8. Tengu -Thank you, your information does help me! I was suspicious the the MK boy were on the slim side -I am drawn to 'slim' in any scale it seems, so no real surprise there . I'm glad the SD13 seems to be a good fit, as I was hoping I could use that as a guide when searching for clothes. All the SD terminology and sizing is new to me, as I'm used to yosd. Yeah, the MK sculpts are fantastic!

My Miri got a new face up today. The name Jolene doesn't suit her anymore though, so now I need to figure out her name again...

    10. Ohh that's a pretty cool faceup, I likey! Did you do it yourself? She still looks like a Jolene to me though.

I'm waiting on my Leona's faceup.

    11. Thanks! And yes I did do it myself, and yeah... so far I still call her Jolene since that's always been her name. Can't wait to see your Leona when she gets back!

    12. I'm thinking about getting Eileen or Leona as my first doll and I just had some questions for you guys.
      1. What size eyes and wigs do you use for your 1/3's?
      2. Do you think this would be a good first doll?
      3. on a scale from 1 to 10 how much do you like the Mystic kids 1/3 dolls.
Sorry about getting knit picky but she would be my first ever Bjd so I want to make sure she is right for me.

    13. Hi there! Don't worry about being nitpicky, perfectly understandable!

      1. My girl (Miri) wears best either a small 8-9 or a large 7-8 wig. The wig she has now is a bit big at an 8-9. Eyes are 16mm.
      2. I think she'd be a great first doll, just a thing to keep in mind is that she's rather slim for an SD. Angell-Studio clothes fit great!
      3. I'd say about an 8 to a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. Mainly because she likes to fold into a sitting position, but that can be remedied with sueding. I haven't sueded my girl yet and she does fine.

Since you're in Minnesota as well, we could meet up at a mall and I can bring my Miri so you can get a feel for the size and the body!

    14. @Raven64 I adore what you've done with her! I am so happy you adopted her.

@IzabethS Your Miri is so cool with that face-up. I haven't seen many custom MK dolls.

@kitkat828 Eileen was my first doll (ordered from JunkySpot because she was instock and marked down for the UK - I'd also had a bad experience with a UK dealer so didn't want to go back there!) In terms of your questions
      1. I bought a custom wig for her (mohair), and had a DZ60 wig, which is also for a smaller SD head. I never changed her eyes!
      2. She was a fantastic first doll. She is very solid, and very well made. She also has lovely aesthetics. She also stood really easily and never had any issues with her posing.
      3. It's hard to give a number. I'd had a previous bad experience, so when I got her and she was so perfect etc. I was over the moon and would give 10, however, as you can see, I sold her. This was because in my current situation an SD was too big for me and I had nowhere for pictures. I guess the other reason was because I thought her boobs were a bit big >.< Haha! Angell Studio clothes fit okay, but the coats can be a bit bulky. Post #203 shows my ex-Eileen in an AS set, and looks lovely!

Anything else please ask! It's nice to see this thread more active.
I will also say Eileen has SUCH a sweet face. It really was hard to part with it!

    15. Thanks kamia! It's a pity that not very many people repaint their MK dolls, but I understand why. The default face ups nice and almost impossible to get off! I literally had to soak Jolene's head in alcohol for the better part of a day to get the default face up to loosen.

I really love my Miri, even if she does have some big knockers, and is hard to dress. But the Alice Collection jeans fit her nicely at least, as do the Angell Studio tops. My girl right now is wearing a Doll Heart skirt and a custom corset made to fit Peaks Woods dolls. It doesn't close all the way on her, but it does look lovely!

Plus a random bonus picture of her!

    16. kamia Thanks so much and I'm glad she found a good home!

    17. 1. I forget what size eyes I have. But for wigs I feel like 8/9 is too big and 7/8 is a lot better.

      2. I'd say yes but it can be frustrating finding many things that will fit. I had a hard time with my first doll but I was new and didn't understand anything. So... maybe? Depends on how much you love them. Look at user pics and see how you feel :)

      3. I'd say 8 or 9 for likability. I have a YoSD from MK and she's fantastic as well. I'd actually not mind having an SD boy. There's just something special about these dolls :) My only complaint is slim SD stuff isn't quite as easy to find. And my Leona's default faceup was way lighter in person than I was expecting and that made me a little sad.

    18. I use 16mm eyes for Eileen and 8-9 wigs. I've had no problems finding clothes to fit her - AS Worsted fits perfectly (my favourite outfit for her so far - see photo below). Oufits by Violet Fern, Amelie Taylor and Dollmore fit well too.
I really like her, she poses great, stands secure and has such a pretty face. I'd give her a 9 out of 10 - there are 10's out there for me but I can't afford them right now:roll:

If you're not completely sure, wait a while and look around at others.

IzabethS: fabulous face-up, really stunning and different

    19. I have a favor to ask from anyone who can help. I would like to see a color comparison between the Mystic Kid's pink normal and yellow normal resin. My first doll is the pink normal and I'd like to see it with the yellow normal before I buy my second doll.

      Thanks
