1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Mystic Kids 1/3 doll discussion

Apr 11, 2013

    1. My MK 1/4 poses just fine, I never had any problems with that, and their resign is super smooth.

    2. Hi,
I've bought yesterday my Amy head. I cant find much pics. And it confuses me that there is a 1/4 amy too. This makes finding pics hard ^^
I want to make a hybrid with a mirodoll body. Did anyone here got the 60cm Amy and can spam some pics?

    3. There's a sculpt named Amy?

    4. Oohh okay.
I think Alina was a good choice, she's such a cute sculpt!

    5. I got my first MK last month. Human Elisa. I looooove her. She's got such a cute little smile.

    6. I got my 70cm QingCen Fox this weekend, and he's awesome - even the outfit, which is just beautiful and is amazing quality! I can't wait to send him off to Angel Toast for his face. :) The only things I'm not happy with are his aardvark-looking ears, which I knew I'd hate, so I had already bought ears that actually look like fox ears, and...he is strung so tightly that I can barely separate the wrists enough to unhook the hands. He's in for a full restringing this weekend, and I'm not looking forward to it. Plus, aside from being horribly kicky, I'm afraid he may not be able to stand up by himself, so I may have to wire him as well. Sigh. Does anyone else own a 70cm MK boy? I'm curious if this is a common issue.

    7. I have two of the 60cm boy ones and they don't stand the best on their own, either, so maybe it's just their style with the joints? I wired one of them, and sueded his ankles, and that seemed to work well enough to help, though.

    8. Yeah, mine almost seems too heavy for the joints to support him as they're constructed. Oh well, wire it is, then! Thanks for sharing that. :) I think I may end up buying him my first doll stand ever, too.

    9. lol, this is kind of a dead thread, isn't it? Oh well, I have one last question in case anyone else wanders by. Do Mystic Kids always come without any sort of COA? I realized this guy is the first doll I've ever gotten that didn't have one, and I just want to make sure that's the usual thing for them.

    10. @celga Don't know about bigger MK dolls, but minis and tinies come with a plastic card as COA with the doll's photo front and some text at the back of it. There are fields like doll's name etc. but those usually aren't filled out by the company.

    11. That's the COA?? D'oh! It's so small, I thought it was just a promo card, the way some companies throw in with their dolls. :XD: Thanks!

    12. Yeah, the COA is just the little plastic card that's the same size of a credit card. I was kind of confused by it at first, too, hah, you're not alone there.

    13. Hey guys! I'm new to the thread. Which skin color for MK do you guys like the best?

    14. @mikkimikka Hey! Welcome to the thread. :)
I personally prefer Pink, it's quite pink when just fresh from the company, but it mellows nicely into a natural looking flesh color. The fresh NP is difficult to match for hybridizing, it is very pale compared to other pinks, often confused with their White in photos, and has a lot of pink pigment in it at the beginning, but much easier since it mellows. Got a new Dollzone head shipped to me by accident recently that was in their Normal Pink, was a very good match to one of my MK boys in Pink, a year old or so.
Yellow is a cute color, too. Cannot say much about its change over time though.
White gets quite yellow over time, but so far I've seen their dolls in white that were very much played with, outside too. Got a feeling it just slowly shifts to their yellow, not so bright though. :)
The color change that I've observed in MK resin is even, sometimes unnoticeable. But that's if you take care of your doll and don't leave it sunbathing in clothes, in this case I think it'll yellow unevenly like any doll would.

    15. @Riin thanks so much!

I am getting ready to order a miri. i was about to order from junkyspot because she is in stock there but then i realized white skin is the one in stock so I thought to ask. I think I really want pink though from your description. I never had a white doll so it intimidates me.

i guess i will order from alice collections especially since the event spring will end soon

    16. @mikkimikka oh, Miri is a nice choice! She's on my wishlist too. :) Good luck with ordering her!

Well, white is not a color to be intimidated by. This far into the hobby I don't think that any is, actually. :) But white is often a tiny bit more difficult to handle than pink, since it has a tendency to attract dirt... Simply because dirt is more noticeable on white skin. :) So having a magical sponge somewhere nearby is a good thing. And yellowing is a bit more noticeable on white since there's no red pigment to go away. But white getting more creamy or buttery in color over time can also be cute. Just depends on the owner and his preferences.

    17. @Riin i think i need to see a white doll in real life to really decide. I have very limited experience with other peoples dolls. Anyway I've filled my cart and am going for pink skin miri! So now it's time to wait!

    18. @Riin thanks! I am getting excited just by looking at all the pics in this thread
