Mythdoll Mini discussion

Mythdolls are strung really differently from most other dolls, if I remember correctly, so that might be a problem... don't know about sizes or resin matches though.

 

I got my first BJD Leroi Snow from Mythdoll. She is charmed. She is made of a very good quality resin. That is why the weight is not as heavy as others. The skin is just the color I dreamed, like milk. And the most amazing thing is the variability of posing. She got such wonderful balance. That made her pose very easily! From their website, you can find boys or girls if you prefer either one. But Leroi Snow is just an angel without gender. I heard that they have a big breast girl doll named Diya That's all I can tell you. Hope they are a little bit helpful and wish you good luck to find your love doll.

 

I'm not sure if the resin would match... I know the resin was entirely different for my Mythdoll Diya in comparison to my DOds and other dolls :S

 

Both the Mythdolls seem to have very differnt resin tones, i had the Diya, still have the Twin and my bf has the regular Leroi kit and all were f=different T-T; The lighter the better though.. They seem to be more yellow, where as something like the DODs is more pinky toned.

Of course, Mythdoll has just changed their resin to a new UV resistant type, so the colour might be different again. ^^'' I think myself and a few others on this forum are going to be some of the first to get the dolls with the new resin. Who knows, it might be a better match, it might be worse :P

 

Hi, I've heard time and time again, that any shinyness on some of the dolls is just mold release- a little washing and it comes right off.

The Angel bodies on the site are genderless (Leroi Snow has paper-white skin, Leroi's Twin has "Pure Skin", and Little Leroi has regular skin, the Lerois all come from the same mold, just have different skin tones, I asked on the Mythdoll forum)
I think all the other dolls have gender specific bodies.

I've heard LOTS of good things about Mythdoll quality, posibility is excellent, and the resin isn't cheap.
If you want to see some of the posing these dolls can do, go to their site, click on 1/4 Doll, then Angel, then Little Leroi. At the bottom of his page you can see two images that show you the amazing posibility this doll is able to do. (There is some weird marks on the doll in the image, that's because it was a prototype doll)

I owned a Wujee briefly. I'll agree that they're beautiful sculpts (although I didn't bond with mine; she was sold); the shininess also comes right off. This may apply only to Wujee, but she can't pose nearly as well as she did on her prototype pictures, although she probably could if she were strung well and then wired/sueded. She was still a darling though, and while I think her poseability was at the bottom of most dolls I've met in person, she could stand unsupported and hold her arms in the standard positions. This is probably less of a problem for the 1/4ths, as I think her major problem was that she was really gangly (and thus tough to balance). Nonetheless, Mythdoll quality isn't at all to be doubted, and I do trust the company wholeheartedly.

Ahh, the pictures of Leroi snow are rather deceptive, it actually comes paper white. Really REALLY white XD

I was wondering about differences in face sculpt between the Lerois, so I asked, and they told me that they're the same sculpt, just different resin colours and come with different things.

All the Lerois also come as 'angel bodies' which means that they are genderless bodies.

Yue and Jue are both girl dolls (their mesurments are on their pages) 41.5cms
Honestly, I have no clue as to why Jue is so much more then Yue.

 

There were some theories that Yue came out cheaper to encourage people to get her, since she's the new doll. It may be as simple as Jue has a sleeping face, and she requires more work to make her presentable :: shrug ::

There probably isn't any great mystery about it or any secret hidden reason. If it wories you, just don't get her.

If you do decide to order from mythdoll, PLEASE give them some time to get their act together and spare yourself the agonizing wait! If you are wondering what I mean, there is a thread about it on the Incomming Doll forum.

I ordered August 16th, the site said 2 weeks until delivery, and then they had some problems with piracy.... So i was promised October 10th. Then I was told around the end of October. Turns out, I got my tracking number and she wasn't posted until the 4th of November. Just hoping that the doll is worth the wait, as it was a bit on the side of rediculous as they would not reply to anyones emails. I would seriously seriously if you are thinking of ordering a mythdoll just wait a while. supposedly they are a good company and this happened? Perhaps they were just a bit overwhelmed with everything, still no excuse really... I will post a few pics when Leedah arrives, with my serendipity sharmin (Miral) although I won't get to post many as she is being put away for christmas.

 

It seems to have happened around the release of Yue that they got really backed up... I think they wern't prepaired for how many orders they got. I ordered her a little while ago (not as long ago as august but still over a month ago) and right after noticed all the posts about people not getting replies. I seriously think it's just overload from releasing such an inexpensive doll and suddenly becoming more popular because of the arrival of the first wave of dolls. That and if they really are the same as Wishel I think they should have held off on even putting up the site for wishel. Since that might cause them to take even longer. If they're behind already they shouldn't be releasing things that will give them even more work.

 

I can see where you are comming from, but in the past some companies have started up sister companies, took people's money, put it all into the new company, then refused to fill the orders saying it was the problem of the other company.... All in all it is not good business practice.

But on the bright side, my doll just arrived! My camera is at my mother in law's atm, so I am setting up my webcam (or rather trying to) so I can take pics to show everyone. the free gifts they included were the wig from the promo pics, and a pair of white and black goth loli boots which are adorable. She is so cute though. I need to find a bit of double sided tape so i can attach this wig for now. That and I need to order some MSD sewing patterns so i can make her some clothes!! hehehe

Hello. I have a L. Leroy. He's a bit taller than normal MSD size dolls, and also thinner, so all the clothes are a bit wide for him, and also I can't dress him with long trousers

I was wondering if there are clothes more suitable for his size, like... maybe clothes for Sharmin? or any other BJD? ^^ Thank you!

 

Hmmm I think he's like 1cm taller than standard MSD, like 44 or 45 cm.

 

Traditional MSD is 40-42cm I think? Narin is 44cm.

All of Narin's measurements can be found here - see if your doll's measurements are similar. Narin can wear a full Tonner Matt suit and it looks like it fits perfectly.

My DZ Megi is wearing pleather pants from the Dollfair's Bliss line. They are a good fit for his long legs. I also bought the white shirt and the black and grey sweater. I am very please with them.
