Narae/Narin 43/44cm Mini Discussion Part 7

I ordered 2 pair of Eyeco eyes today for Bitna. Hopefully at least one pair will be the right color. Eyes and wigs are such a crap shoot! You never know until you try them. A bag full of eyes and a drawer full of wigs!

 

I've definitely got a collection of wigs and eyes starting to pile up, lol. So if course I've already got another wig on order for the new girl. I think I'm gonna start adventuring more into natural fibers since I know a lot of people swear by them.

Also I still have no idea what I'm gonna name her yet!

 

It's fun to see Bimong's live videos! The latest one shows some dolls apparently for the April order.

It makes me kind of nervous-excited for the May order dolls though. I really hope that even though another company is casting the dolls that the resin colors will be the same as expected and that they will all receive Bimong's careful inspection! Plus I've been reading through all the old Narae threads (to help with the archive project) and all the problems with Dollfair D-Storic, etc. make me paranoid!

But I'm so happy to have made it into the May order and I know the dolls will be beautiful, I'll just be very relieved when I see some of them finished and ready to ship.

I'll go back to thinking about eyes now.

 

Don't let the Dollfair and D-Storic problems bother you! The Dollfair meltdown was a complex issue. D-Storic did a final order period and accepted far more orders than they could produce. At least Bimong is smart and got help to deal with the final order volume!

 

@StellaMarigold you are working on the Narae archive? I was given the 40cm archive and have most of the Wiki completed.
As @nancy_schroeder_ca stated, D-Storic stepped in an honored orders at their cost in an effort to help out Bimong, who had honored orders without receiving money.

And to help you think about eyes... how about telling me which eyes you prefer? Logically, for an Asian character I would think the brown eye(s). But I think it is just lost in the small eye socket and the vivid eye makeup. The grey eye is lighter than I thought it would be but I think it complements the eye makeup.

I'm asking opinions... help me decide which eye color for Bitna.

@nancy_schroeder_ca - I know you're right! I shouldn't worry at all, and I trust Bimong. You're right that he was smart to get help with this large order!

@coleen - Yes, I was working on the Narae40 threads, and I added some information to the Wiki. I didn't see any marked as "Adopted" when I first looked, so that's why I thought they still needed a volunteer. So please feel free to change whatever you want! I was reading through the Narae 40 threads for information on clothes and shoes, so I thought I might as well help with the archive project at the same time.

Your Bitna is so pretty! I especially love her eyebrows!

I have a 6.5" Dandelion on the way, and I would really like her to have amber-brown eyes, but the brown eyes you have here do seem a bit dark. Maybe if more white was showing (smaller irises) they would look better? So with this size eyes I prefer the grey option - although they look green on my screen. The grey eyes seem to have more life and depth.

 

I was lucky enough to buy rianne's Mio yesterday. She is on her way. So excited!!

rianne can I keep the name??

coleen I love the soft eyeco eyes and must get some. Your dandelion looks good in both coloured eyes. Perhaps, as she is a part time model, she could change colours by what she is modelling?
Also I think the face ups on both your dandelion's are fantastic!!

I saw bimong's latest message. I expect my Narae legs won't be made until they make the bodies. Looks like new legs for
Christmas!

 

@Kiwiana - Oh, you're very lucky to buy Mio! She's gorgeous!

 

@StellaMarigold - you need to contact one of the moderators if you want to help with the archive project. I was told to contact AirimirOfGondor. They are tracking who has what thread. If you click on the Volunteers Needed! link you will see who has requested what thread and has been assigned. You didn't see Adopted on the thread because I had already been working on it.

I bought 3 pair of 10mm Enchanted Doll Eyes. They were too small. I bought 2 pair of Eyeco 12 mm eyes. The iris is 6mm. Argghh. I wonder if I should order 10mm Eyeco. At this rate, I will have more in eyes than the doll!

@coleen - Okay! I actually did contact the moderators, but I obviously made a mistake. I'm sorry about that. I hope it didn't cause you any problems.

I'm sorry about the eyes - that is one of the frustrating parts of the hobby. And the nice ones are (relatively) expensive! I hope you'll find something right soon.

 

@coleen you may want to try yovankablack/SOULinaBOXdolls eyes (on instagram or etsy). They make really beautiful urethanes, are a good price, and they just started doing small iris eyes.

 

I like the look of these! Do you think I should get 10mm or 12mm for Narae N402?

 

Finally got myself together enough to take a quick shot of the twins. September and Rowan are both n402s. ^^

Have just checked her tracking and she left San Fran yesterday. Not long now!!

Yay! I just got a shipping notice from Bimong. I only have a classic body coming from the April order. The body is for my Dandelion Bitna!

Congratulations to @nancy_schroeder_ca and @Kiwiana! I will be most anxious to have the classic body to start making some clothing. I am sick to death of eyes. I've bought 7 pair. Still not feeling the love!
