Narae/Narin 43/44cm Mini Discussion Part 7

Can't wait to see pics as our dolls arrive. I was hoping for a delivery today, but none. So, I am definitely hoping for tomorrow!

 

Bitna's body finally arrived today! I tried to fix the fwangy bags on her wig by boiling water. Unfortunately, it made the wig curl so I threw it in the trash. So, new wig ordered today.

 

Awww sorry to hear that coleen. I did a terrible job on an expensive wig I bought and kicked myself afterwards. Another wig bit the dust.
My Narae's clothes have arrived. So just waiting on their boots.
Climate here in NZ has turned so cold. No chance of face ups yet on my Narae's or Dandelions. Can't wait to do those.

 

So I finally got my hands on a (very) old golden beige n402. She's taken over as September since I missed my girl's old vibe.

 

She's a classic beauty!

 

@rianne Love your new/old September! Do you still have your other September, and if so who will she become?

The new Monique Debbie wig I ordered for Bitna arrived yesterday. It is different than I thought it would be, but I can make it work. I still have a short fur wig from Miyoni enroute. It should be here this week hopefully. I'm still waiting on clothing and shoes from Bitna so she is standing nude in her wig. I love the Classic body; she stands like a rock!

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca Thank you! I realized as soon as I got this doll that I'd been aiming for that platonic ideal of 'classic' narae we all know from the old days. :3

@coleen The old doll is already in the process of moving to her new home. Even I have my limits on how many I n402 dolls I want haha!

I need to adjust her eyes, but ahhhhh I love this girl. I need to make teeth for her, so I'm testing shapes with putty. XD

rianne Thank you so much for allowing me to adopt from you again. So excited. She will be my first Ivory Narae and n402 ( I thought Bailey was an n402 but she is an n404 ).
I am trying to think of a new name for her and as she is albino and it is very cold here at the moment, I am thinking of naming her 'Winter'. What do you think??

@Kiwiana Ooooh, I didn't realize she was your first n402! I'm clearly biased, but I think you're in for a treat. This sculpt is magic.

rianne They are stunning and look very happy together. My friend here in NZ still has her Golden Beige n402 French resin from Dollfair days. I don't think she will ever part with her.

 

@Kiwiana Thank you! Aww, that's actually pretty heartwarming. And I get it: there's something really precious about the old French resin girls. I cannot believe my luck, getting both an old tan and a golden beige French resin n402, and I can't imagine parting with them.

 

I guesss @Kiwiana has started a home for @rianne's wayward girls. I love the french resin girls. I have an SD Narae in french resin, but never collected the 40cm girls until the new body. I got Bitna's short wig yesterday and I love it. She's still standing here naked. When she gets some clothing I will post pictures!

 

I also have an old Tan French resin from the Dollfair days, and she doesn't seem to have yellowed much at all. Here she is with a French resin Butterfly Narae from D-Storic...

 

I think the tan resins held their color better than the pinky-white.

 

I have an old tanned girl from the Dollfair/Dollmore days and she is as yellow as a banana. Well, I ordered a tanned girl back in 2007. I'm still not convinced that I actually got a tanned girl given how pale she was in the beginning.


For the Narae-pro's, what colour do you think my girl was originally?

 

Definitely Tan, cause my Tisa was tan when she first arrived from Dollfair back in 2004/2005. She has changed or aged in color, but I am still debating if I will upgrade her or just keep her, my hubby is very attached to her. As you can see in this old pic of her and then Pinky White/ Milk White Narae Dreamer head, don't know what head this face is under now, but Evie does not look Pinky White now, she too has aged.

@MB Lilac You've kept your girls in stunning condition!

It's true that pinky white ended up yellowing more. that's courtesy of the extra red pigments as far as I know, given that they oxidize quickly. I think there was a paler/pinker tan batch too, which is likely what you guys are seeing in your dolls.

My tan girl from the dollfair days is mildly 'greened' but has mostly held her color.

 

I have a third Narae, who is Golden Beige French resin from 2005. She is quite yellow, especially compared to my other two. But she's still gorgeous when photographed on her own...
