Narae/Narin 43/44cm Mini Discussion Part 7

I measure the version 1 new body at 44cm and the version 2 new body at 42 cm. I will try to get a comparison in a few days. Remind me if I forget!

 

I saw them! I'm just not sure if they are that accurate (I have heard company measurements can be off). The height listed for the new body is 43cm, and for the Classic body is 42 ("without head" it says). I would prefer her to be closer to 43cm than 45cm!

But I guess I'll see for myself pretty soon.

I want her to have a MNF A-Line + Unoa hybrid friend and was trying to visualize the height comparison. Some height difference is good, for contrast, but because of the Narae's character I don't want her to tower over her friend.

Edited to add, I'll also need a body for the other head I bought, and I really like the look of the Dollzone B45-012 body, but was worried it would be too short (it is 42cm tall with a head).

 

I do have a very old original Luts Minifee Soo that could join in the pictures.

 

I'm excited to know their feet size is similar to a-line! That means I'll have a few shoes that should fit anyway, lol.

@StellaMarigold You sound so prepared! I wish I was better at picking colors and running with a set style, but I'm really not, lol. I gravitate towards bold solid colors, and they don't always go well together.

I've got my new girl some cool galaxy eyes and a purple ombre wig that I'm a bit iffy on. Her faceup is gunna be the "natural" style that may or may not still be popular in Korea (pinky chorals and puppy eyeliner).

As for clothes? I have no clue! Probably a lot of cool color tones to go with all the purple.

 

@Samsally - I don't know the feet are the same size for absolute certain, but in these photos they certainly look the same:

And I am really not that well prepared haha - I just decided to start with a basic set of shoes that would go with the outfits I like to see on other dolls. I don't really know if this doll will accept them - and I haven't even been able to decide what hair/eye color she will have.

I am fortunate to have a fairly consistent style preference - I like Mori-style muted colors, pure white outfits, pure black outfits, a bit of Steampunk, etc.

Galax eyes are beautiful, and purple and cool tones sounds really nice! Purple and teal/mint look great together - maybe that's an option?

I definitely think purple with teal or mint will look really cool. But I know what you mean about dolls sometimes surprising you! I like to let the doll inspire me and it's taken me in some crazy directions.

 

You're welcome! I find Flickr to be a fantastic resource for comparisons, information on resin colors, etc.

 

I do like Flickr, but I have the hardest time finding anything on it. Is it more about finding the right people to follow or using the right search terms?

 

Well, all I do is search for terms like "unoa hybrid" or "minifee shoes" or things like that. It does take a bit of dedication to find the good references out of the many that are not helpful and don't really match your inquiry. But I find that if you are patient and search for the same thing in different ways you can learn something.

For example, if I want to see photos of minifees wearing shoes, I might look up "minifee shoes" or "a line shoes" or "minifee boots" or "slim mini shoes" or similar terms. Often I can't find any references - but it is wonderful when I can!

 

Oh gosh I didn't respond, I'm sorry! That's good to know, I'll be sure to try that out next time I'm curious about measurements.

Also I've now paid off both of my Naraes on Layaway! I'm probably getting the second hand one next week or the week after that. :3 I'm very excited!

Ack, I totally missed this shoe convo. Shoes made specifically for MNF don't fit the classic body at least. They're really really close, but no banana basically. This is for newer custom made shoes like you'll find on etsy. There's a reason many sellers list narae/unoa and mnf separately. Bigger general-purpose slim mini shoes and fashion doll shoes will typically fit. TBH, naraes are easy since in general, Tonner 17 boy flat shoes and American model 22" heels are sure bets (I think there's a subtle difference in the new heel feet arch, but they still fit; someone correct me if I'm wrong).

I'm totally noob at Bimong dolls, discovered them not so long ago (i'm only one year in this hobby). But I love how Bimong's dolls looks, they are stunning!
I checked his site, but can't figure out how to order. Do you order body and head separately? As I understand it's preorder on body, but I see many heads free to buy...
So how do I make order of a complete doll an what doll would you recommend ?
I quess Minifee clothes fits his standart body?

Bimong said he is going to stop selling his Narae/Narin 40-43cm range dolls - this may be temporary (he has a larger 52cm doll he is working on for next year and he mentioned maybe later returning to the 40-43cm range), but he has had problems with his hands. He had one "final preorder" in May, but then he decided to offer a final final sale just for the month of October. I thought he said in his update that he was limiting this final preorder to existing customers, but I could be wrong about that. You could send him a message on Instagram - he responds quickly and is really nice!.

You are correct that you have to order a body and a head separately, but unfortunately, it looks like the bodies have sold out. They were available on this page:

And extra parts (like feet) can be found in the "Parts" section.

Your best bet may be to wait for one to come up on the secondhand market. The latest orders should be arriving with their owners in the next few months, and some people may change their minds about keeping the dolls.

As far as fitting MNF clothes, Naraes are slightly larger than MNF (and the new Narae body is larger than the older Classic body). Several clothing stores I've seen on Etsy have a slot for MNF size and a different one for Narae size. Check on Flickr and Instagram and you should find several size comparisons.

I'm sure there will be some available in the market place. He was accepting orders through the end of October and everything is now out of stock. Now that he has a casting company, he may change his mind a do another order in the future. The 52m Dandelion is scheduled for January.
