Narae/Narin 43/44cm Mini Discussion Part 7

I know I definitely want to order light tan as I will have 2 in normal skin. I am undecided on the head. Can anyone tell me the difference between 402 and 404? Other than the upper eyelids?

 

I got a 404 with my last order. I will compare it to one of my 402s.

 

They definitely have different mouths. The sides of the 402 upper lip are thinner, which gives her a cute little pucker/pout mouth (at least to me!). The 404 seems to have a more full upper lip.

I'm torn between 406 (smaller eye sockets might be better for the smaller eyes I prefer) and 404 (love the lids without creases).

 

Has anyone received a Narae or Narin in the new olive skin tone? What do you think of it? It looks lovely in Bimong's photos on Instagram but I've yet to see owner pictures.

 

@taixonay I may be wrong, but I believe the olive skin was just offered on the April ordering period. Therefore, no one will have received their doll.

I pored over Narae photos on Flikr and Instagram and I have decided on the 404 head. Now I need to decide her name and character. My Octavia is studying ballet at the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts. My Bitna is a part time model and is studying design at the Academy. Bitna's head is currently getting her faceup at @rianne Her body is still on order.

Does anyone else create characters for their dolls?

 

@coleen I thought Bimong introduced olive back in November. Maybe I should ask in the Narae60 thread if anyone ordered a doll in olive skin.

Regarding characters, I do a little bit. I'm trying to get more in-depth with character and world building with my dolls. Some are more concrete than others.

If I do get a Narae during Bimong's last order period, she'll be a friend to my JID Benny. That's all I know right now.

 

There is a color comparison in Instagram dated Nov 9th where olive is listed as a new color. So I think it was available for the January order period.

@coleen - your characters sound like they have wonderful opportunities for clothing, photographs, and fun accessories!

If I buy a Narae I have a character in mind for her. However, the character most closely associated with her in the story has the condition acromegaly and is extremely tall. I have always planned to make a doll for him myself, whatever the scale, since I've never seen a doll that remotely resembled his particular face and body structure, but if I make him to scale with a Narae he may be 36" tall! So she may have to be someone else

 

My girls are witches. I tend to think more in terms of personification and aesthetic and symbolism than character, but it's similar in a way.

@StellaMarigold Thank you for those links. I mostly searched on Flickr and couldn't find anything for olive Narae.

I'm hoping to get a n404. Do we know what type of order period this is going to be? Is he doing full doll order or head and body separate?

@StellaMarigold Yep, n406 with severe greening from light exposure. I think I managed to work with it though ^^ She's been in the works for a bit.

It will probably be head and body separately. So you choose the body you want and the head(s) you want. If you order a head and body, it will come assembled as a full doll except for the Dandelion set that ships separately.

 

@rianne - I love the personifcations of your foursome. All my SD dolls were named after various God & Goddesses and used their powers to bring about good. My MSD dolls all ended up being students. I have 2 DT girls who are orphaned, live and study at an English boarding school, and are amateur child sleuths.

@nancy_schroeder_ca - wait, can we buy the Dandelion set in the May order!? I thought it was limited!!

If you can buy the Dandelion set, is it $300 for both the heads, or just one? If possible, I would love to buy the small original-style Dandelion head on the new Narae body.

@coleen I didn't see your question before, but they're definitely different heads. n402 kind of has a kitty mouth with upturned corners and a subtle edge. n404 has Cupid's bow lips with a defined fullness to them. The eye shape is different yes, but n404's eyes are also somewhat larger and wider. I have n404/n402/n406 side by side in my insta stories right now if you want to look.

Also, my big dolls are all gods. XD they don't know that though.

 

@rianne I was poring over your pics on Instagram! I liked the kitty mouth (great description!) on n402, but decided I wanted the cupid bow lips. I'm all about the lips!

I saw you wiped September's faceup. I can't wait to see what you do. Your Mio is quite different from your other ladies.
