Nipples - I'm not a fan

Oct 23, 2013

    1. If it comes down to an elegant dress that can't be worn with a normal bra, why don't you pad the cups of the dress? A lot of dresses nowadays have that built-in-bra so that the dresses can be styled however the designer wants. That way you can hide her nipples and still have a cute dress. Hope this helps!

    2. Interesting! I had no idea dolly bras were so effective. :o Well, I've had making undies and bras on my to-do list. Maybe I'll push that up a little. I'd much rather adjust her clothes. The thought of sanding her nipples makes me cringe.

    3. Like a previous poster, I also gave up wearing bras. I find them itchy and uncomfortable. If I'm wearing something clingy, I'll put a camisole under it. But a little outline of a nipple is no big deal, IMO. We've all got them, and I don't think it's necessary to completely hide their presence as people did a generation ago. The same goes for dolls.

    4. I was glad to see your post as I have an angel of dream doll with the same problem and like you the thought of sanding her nipples does make me cringe. I will be making a bra for her and see how it goes.

    5. How about pasties? Like those little stick-on modesty daisies you can buy to put on under backless dresses. Stick on a piece of fabric over the nipple with one of those glue-dots. Or just fabric adhesive tape.

A doll wouldn't even have to take a shot of whiskey before pulling the adhesive off, either. :XD:

    6. A bra is the last thing I put on and the first thing I take off and if I can get by without one I do. But, material these days is pretty thin & even a freckle shows through some of it, so I can understand how it would be bothersome to some.

I think nipples are here to stay and are part of life. I think I would get this girl some undies, or line the clothing. She's too young for plastic surgery.

    7. A bra for a doll huh. I've seen some seriously cute lingerie for dolls but I don't think I'll ever but my doll under things that cost as much as mine! Especially since I have no desire to ever have my doll sitting around modeling it. Naked when stored, clothes when displayed.

I haven't gone to sanding yet but I try to pick clothes where you won't see the little nips poking through. Thicker fabric or looser styles.

    8. Yeah, I don't like pointy niples, but dolls with niples are soo strange O.O
I think, as many people said, the best options are the gentle sanding or the bra. If you are insecure to do the sanding, use the bra, it's safe and you'll always have the original body of your doll (you never know when you can change your mind about how she looks like...) =D

    9. Super pointy nipple are unrealistic reall, I sand them down to soften the look...but I absolutely hate when dolls with large boobs have nipples that
looking east and west! I mean really? I know women might be like that to some degree..but honestly they look like they could look around corners..lol ..it looks very cartoonish to me.

    10. JennyNemesis's post made me think, if your doll is SD-size how about using some of those small round bandaids? XD They're small, padded & adhesive and shouldn't damage your doll~

    11. My girl has nipples that could easily kill a man. :| Making a little bra helped a lot, though I've also wrestled back and forth with the idea of to sand or not to sand--the only thing that's kept me from doing it is my lack of will to go to an Ace or Lowes or Home Depot to get sand paper and a mask to do the sanding with. But yes, I've found that having a bra has helped immensely! Depending on the top she wears over it you can still kkiiiinda see a little bump there, but it's usually not noticeable enough to make a big deal out of it, at least it's not as noticeable as it is WITHOUT a bra... I'm not kidding when I say her nipples are like... tiny daggers. >>

    12. I loathe erect doll nipples, but it's worse when there's none at all! The best example of nipples I like sculpted best is how Fairyland did the subtle nipples on their F60s and Minifees. Enough shape to get the point across, but not too much sculpting to show how cold their resin is. ;D

    13. I like to buy the immature bodies for this very reason. I stick to the more flat chested females so I don't run into the overly big chested females. Sanding is a very scary option to consider if your not very technical with your dolls and like to do sanding, face up, or piercing.

    14. Hmmm I am a bit undecided about this...
On one hand I think that constantly visible nipples are a bit unnecessary. I mean they usually aren't!

On the other hand, I am a nipple fan so I like them on my dolls and if a doll body has "ugly nipples" like those nub thingies that look like round little balls just stuck there...eww... I am talking about boys only here though, I cannot say how I'd handle this issue with girls.
If nipples on a doll I owned were ugly or too visible I'd probably sand them down~

    15. I prefer very subtle nipples that cannot be seen when the doll is wearing clothes. My new Soom girls' nipples stick out of any outfit I put her in and it's really annoying trying to hide it. I'm going to have to try tape/bandaid or a doll bra.

    16. I don´t really like nipples on dolls. If I was braver I would sand them down XD

    17. I have not encountered this problem yet since the dolls I pick are very youthful, but I love the bra making idea. Bras are not hard to make at all. The wrapping with gauze idea is a great one also....so is using eye tack.

    18. I dont like the idea of visible nipples. I like idea of a bra though!

    19. I'm always blown away by people being ashamed of nipples. I don't care if my doll's nips are visible through their clothing. They're nipples. Perfectly normal part of the body.
