1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

No More Dollshe From Iplehouse or Luts?

Feb 11, 2008

    1. The thought of them not making Dollshe boys anymore is horrible. Their some of my favorite dolls. I have my money tied up so I can't just panic and get them. I am looking forward to some of the confusion getting resolved so we know exactly what is happening........... :(

    2. Hey!!.. I'm really sad about this
I was saving money to buy a dollshe hound..
that mold will be discontinue??.. O_O..
      it can't be... O_o....

    3. From my reading of Dollstown's page, this was a new decision that she made for her dolls, but it shouldn't affect Dollshe dolls. It sounded like Dollshe already used the U.S. Smooth-on resin while she used a cheaper Korean resin, but talking to Mr. Dollshe, she was convinced of the benefits of the U.S. Smooth-on resin and decided to switch to that instead, even though it was more expensive. Therefore, Dollshe dolls, which have been using the more expensive resin for awhile, won't go up in price, but her dolls, which are just starting to use it, will.

Of course, that's just based on my reading...

    4. I wonder, when Dollshe says they're only going to be selling certain heads, does that mean they're only going to be selling the heads that are offered as option parts right now (like hound, im hound, sa hound, afghan, ect.)? Or will they still be selling all of their heads (like bernard and saint, which aren't sold seperately)?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. :/

    5. You know, I think they're slow in replying because it IS the Korean Lunar New Year. I think the celebrations last for about a week then after that they all get back to business.

Anyway, I do not have a feeling that they will completely phase out the regular sculpts for the heads, maybe just the body. But that's just my interpretation of what I read in their homepage. I definitely can't speak Korean let alone communicate in Korean so I really don't know the context and/or nuances on how the information was translated.

If they're saying "new and improved" or "better" dolls, then I just expect that they'll definitely come up with more beautiful and more perfect types of dolls before completely phasing out the current versions. I'm sure that I'll fall in-love with whatever they come out with sooner or later.

As for the status "Preparing to restock" I also noticed this on several of the doll clothes, too. That probably just means that they're taking a break because of the Lunar New Year festivities and then resume production after their long holiday. :)

If they stop making dolls altogether, I may as well panic and use my tax return money to get another SA Husky.

    6. Okay, I just checked my 1:1 message board today and this is Tensiya's Answer to my question because I'm sure I'll panic and want another SA Husky:

      Hi,dear :D
Thank you so much for your visiting here..
      and about your question..
We are very sorry for you..that the answer is yes.
Temporary, we do not accepting all unlimited doll, yes, including SA Husky doll..
After all shippments of previous orders, and limited doll works,
we will restart our shop again. ^^

      Have a good day..

      sincerely yours

      My interpretation:

They just TEMPORARILY halted production so that they can catch up with finishing the Limited Bermann and all other pending doll orders. I think they were overwhelmed with the number of the orders and then of course the people who are waiting for their limiteds. After they get caught up with everything and had all the dolls shipped out, they will resume operation of allowing ordering through their website.

That's my interpretation from their answer.:o

    7. Thanks for posting that, Alithea.
I would think if the stock dolls were discontinued altogether, Tensiya would be using the "Sold out" symbol on them, which they are not, yet.
I asked about whether they were planning to restock the dolls, understanding of course that they are busy right now with holidays and the Bermann releases.
I told them I would prefer to order two of the dolls I wanted from them which is true - I only order through Iple if I don't want a fullset or faceups, because I only like Tensiya's faceups.
They haven't answered me yet but I figure they are busy, no rush. Really I am just trying to find out if I stand a chance of getting the two stock dolls I want from Tensiya or should I get them at Iple before February's end.

    8. I got the impression that the Dollstown creator joined with Dollshe in terms of business management and productivity. From my understanding of it, the Dollstown creator saw a sampling of the US Smooth-On resin that Mr. Dollshe had used to create a Saint and realized the potential the US Smooth-on resin holds, thus putting Dollstown's doll production into Mr. Dollshe's hand. The Dollstown creator then compares the advantages of using US Smooth-on resin in contrast to the current Korean resin. Yes, we're both reading it along the same line so far...I just dont know how you came up with the conclusion that Dollshe prices will not go up. Where did it say that Dollshe is currently using the expensive resin? I thought the increase to $600 for Dollshe was because of the yen to dollar exchange rate, not because of the cost of material. Did I read the wrong information concerning Dollshe's increase to $600? :doh

I thought they were testing the new resin out and Dollstown was invited to the result....? And I think the new resin is going to be used to prevent future plagiarism, which I think is one reason why Iplehouse had to stop their Dollshe productivity. (It's like you know it's Dollshe cuz they use US Smooth-On resin and not the Korean one, making them unique or something like that XD; ) Therefore, I didn't get this impression that Dollshe is using the new resin, but rather, is testing it out with Dollstown, but plans to use it with future new dolls and new stock.

Ah, them and their vagueness... all got lost through translation! XD; Well if I misread, I do apologize in advance. I had a paper due today and a midterm. I didn't get enough sleep so if it's not what I fear, then that's good. :)

    9. Sorry if I sound stupid - but does it mean that one can still order Dollshe from Iplehouse till the end of February?

    10. all I am right now is curious about this US Smooth-on resin. how it looks and feels like? can anybody post a visual example? (pref. vs. that Korean resin)

and I know I'll be quite heartbroken if Dollshe stops making 70cms altogether, or totally shrinks their molds' heights. Or phases out the Hounds, Huskys, Bernards heads =(. I hope this will not happen =(. it's simply SO not Dollshe if it isn't 70cm (and lanky!)

    11. I am really sad about this. I loved doing business with Iplehouse for my Dollshe boys, and honestly, I am not at all sure that I am enthused about a different Dollshe body, as I really love the lanky Hound body.

I guess I should be really grateful that I have four Dollshe boys already. Maybe I should try to get a body now, for my floating Hound head.

    12. :oOMG!! Are they serious!! No more Hound??!! I don't like the sound of stopping the 70cm Hound and Saint, etc..but geez that was quick. I'm glad to have my Hound, but I got him from Luts, I wonder if they are going to make a similar notice soon as well..now where to find clothes for my big guy:roll:

    13. Here's the latest from Tensiya that they responded to me on their 1:1 board. Some of it is like the message Alithea got and some is a bit new. It sounds like there are some business dealings going on, and stuff is a bit up in the air...

      Hi,dear :D
Thank you so much for your message..
      and about your question..
We are very sorry for you..that the answer is ,
Temporary, we do not accepting all unlimited doll
After all shippments of previous orders, and limited doll works,
we will restart our shop again. ^^a
(since we are very small shop..;;; haha T-T;;;)

Well.. It is true that Dollshe craft will open their own shopping mall site, with new Dollshe doll, I've heard.
He would be very wonderful :D worthy of your long waiting..

but I'm not sure about other information.
      maybe I have to ask about it someone else later..;;;

I'm so sorry for my unenough answer for you.

      have a good day~**

      sincerely yours
      Tensiya.com :D

It's been posted on Houndcalling that others heard from Tensiya that they would be selling existing stocks of their Dollshe dolls, but at least some dolls would not be made any more.

So what I will do is watch Tensiya's site like a hawk for announcements and if they do not offer the fullsets again I will be poking around the secondary marketplace...but I hope they can come up with a last fullset or two for me after the Bermann frenzies abate. One cannot live by Bermann alone ;)

    14. Ahhh...need more updates cos this is confusing me ><

    15. OMG!!! *faints* No more Hound???? :o I wanted to order one by the end of this year, there`s no way I can get the money untill the end of February ... for goodness sake!!! Why now??? Why??? *bangs head against desk*

    16. I got a reply to my layaway question on Iplehouse:

So no layaway I guess. :(

    17. I am so depressed and confused. A Dollshe Saint is all I ever wanted really, and the thought of never having one is totally breaking my heart. I've been dreaming of this boy for over a year now. If I could ever only own one doll it would be him.

As for the bodies, I love how lanky they are, that's what made me love them in the first place.

I'm just really sad about this, and I just don't know what to do.:(

    18. Is the new machine being added or is it replacing the older one???

if it is replacing it would make sence that the production would be halted temporarily so that they can move the old one out and the new one in
and adding the new machine might mean that they have to move the old one so that they can fit the new one
or that they are moving to a new location and therefore have to move both machines in

I just hope that if the new doll ends up being a V3 body, that the V2 is still available, I want my tanned hound to be the same body as my white hound.
