1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

No More Dollshe From Iplehouse or Luts?

Feb 11, 2008

    1. It would be helpful if we knew which ones they were getting rid of. I was hoping to buy a tan Hound and a Bernard in the future...but if they are getting rid of them, I would need to buy them now. Problem is I don't know if they are and I don't want to buy them and find out that they aren't discontinuing them.

    2. I ordered my SA Bernard from Luts this morning, my payment was confirmed, and now the site lists him as Out of Stock... I wonder if I got the last one?

    3. Now you're scaring me, Nytshaed. I can't order until I get my tax refund, which should be in about a week, so in time, and I was planning to order from Iplehouse anyways, but still...

      Hurry up, feds!

    4. T_T
      I need clarification:
So Are these molds going to be discontinued for sure? Is that why you are ordering them now?
And If I were to choose one to get right now, which do you think would be the better choice? the tanned hound or Bernard?

    5. I think that's what everyone's wondering at the moment. I'm in the same boat. Personally, I've been thinking of a tanned Hound, or a Saint. I certainly hope they're not being discontinued. Though going from the messages and other users' interpretations, it seems as if the heads will still be available, and that they're simply working on a new body. It just seems that after this month, they'll be suspending sales of all Dollshe dolls to concentrate on the Bermann production. I'm not quite sure about all of this, of course.

    6. Nytshaed, have you posted to Luts' Q&A board to confirm you did get one?

Paragon Dove, Luts now have a notice up saying that they have been advised that Dollshe are stopping production for a while to work on the new doll, that Luts can only sell what they have in stock and once they've run out they will close sale, which is pretty much the position Iplehouse is in as well. Interestingly enough, there hasn't been any notices on Tensiya like this, although when you go to click on the Dollshe dolls order pages, they all seem to have "preparing re-stock" on them.

And Quilibet, from what I understand from Mr Kim's message and what people have said on the houndcalling board, is that Dollshe are going to take sales of their dolls inhouse, via a revamped dollshe.com, that *many* of the heads will no longer be available, and that a *new* doll will be produced, so probably not a Bermann.

    7. Well...I've been reading and I am really disappointed. Luckily, I already have a Hound (Zach), but I have always felt that if I would double up on any sculpt it would be Hound. And of course, with so little notice, I have no money. There could have been at least more notice. Really really disappointing. :(

    8. Well, I have an Order Number on the site, and I have received a "Payment Confirmed" email from the payment service. On the site my Order shows as "Payment Received" so I am guessing that I am going to be getting my SA Bernard. I don't think the order would have gone through if he'd been sold out.

    9. Happened to catch what Luts is saying on the whole issue:

Discontinuance of DOLLSHE DOLL luts (2008-02-16 )
      Hello dear everyone in LUTS.

We got some sad news from DOLLSHE lately.
DOLLSHE let us know that they will stop producing dolls for a while for making new doll.
Therefore LUTS can sell only the stock currently have, and will close the sale when it become out of stock.
Feel sorry for let you know that, and we recommand cusomers who want to have DOLLSHE dolls to hurry to placing order.

Thank you for reading and if you have any questions about this, please contact us.

      -LUTS

This just kind of adds to my belief that Mr. Ki Yong is not discontinuing anyone just yet. This is just my two cents here but, Luts message has me even more strongly thinking that Dollshe is just on a bit of a hiatus till they can get everything straight. I mean from what we are hearing, it sounds like the man has a lot on his plate:

-Last bermann run (since there are lots of people still hoping that this might change I'm just saying "last" until we hear otherwise, so I hope that doesn't offend anyone)
-Getting his website up and running since that will be the new place to find his dolls.
-Finishing touches and any other prepping necessary to release the new boy
      -Handling Dollstown production

He did say in the message posted on Iplehouse that we'll still be able to see the existing dolls for a while. And we do know that Tensiya will eventually have the standard dolls back in stock. So I hope and :eusa_pray that this just means we don't have to panic too much.

    10. Has anyone tried to contact Dollshe themselves? There is an email address on their page, so perhaps going straight to the source would be appropriate.

I'm really disappointed as I've been planning for about 6 months to purchase a Saint and I just don't have the funds right now to purchase one. Bad timing indeed.

    11. :shudder:sigh I certainely hope this isn't the end of dollshe boys!! they are too stunning! this is the worst possible news I could of heard today! I've been planning on getting an SA Saint for over a year! as he is my dream doll!

Does anyone know is iplehouse will still do layaway?.. I hope so!! :(

    12. Shinigaminojutsu, I believe someone already asked, and Iplehouse said that they were not able to do layaways on dollshe boys. :(

    13. ↑↑↑ Hey Cina,

Are you waiting for an SA Husky, too? :D I love that Dollshe sculpt!
Anyway, it's a little bit off-topic but when you get him home, please show us some pictures--LOTS of them please.:kitty2

There's still two weeks left before Iplehouse stops selling their remaining Dollshe stock.

I'm wondering if I should go on panic buying mode and get myself another SA Husky...*_*

The in the response that Tensiya gave me, they seem to be in limbo right now.
I think the best way to know more details about this situation is to contact Mr. Dollshe himself. I'll checkout the Dollshe website that is under construction and see if I can send an e-mail.

    14. Dollshe casts for other doll companies already, Dollstown is just a new account. I know they also do the head casting for K-Doll and I want to say Gomi-doll but that might be incorrect.

I think it's clear that Dollshe plans to open his own website/shop and is cutting off supply to other distributors well before he releases his new body. He's worried about it being copied and wants to try to keep it away from other doll makers (as much as he can). After some of the legal problems he's been through in the last year I'm glad he's decided to continue making dolls rather than wash his hands of the whole thing. I hope people don't start directly bombarding him with their demands as to which dolls he should continue to make. It's his art after all.

    15. Thank you, redcountess. This means I should go ahead and get my boy. I have faith in Dollshe, but still, this is a bit of grim news indeed.

    16. im crying right now...

    17. I guess I'll just hold back the questions until the official Dollshe site have their grand-opening.

Although, I already got the doll that I wanted from them, SA Husky, and I don't need to get another DS boy. :kitty1:

    18. Ahhh!! that sucks so bad!! maybe it's time to ask someone for a loan :sigh
I don't like my chances! if only they could extend the time period for another month I would be able to afford my boy! oh well!

    19. sa saint is gone from luts :( now

    20. this is really begining to upset me...i wont have any money for an afgha for months and the girls are so unpopular. no other mould will fit for my ruriko though : / please dont discontinue them mr.dollshe >_<
