1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Now I'm really curious

Dec 29, 2012

    1. I've traveled a couple of times and went doll shopping there.

I've even been to another country JUST for doll shopping since there was a convention and all.

I think the hardest travel was when I went to the US because I wasn't sure if I had enough hand carry storage for my dolls so I had no choice but to pack my doll in the luggage and hope for the best.

    2. I bought my Volks F-20 boy at the Nakano Mandarake branch in Tokyo last year. I'll be going again in March and hope to make some cool finds!

    3. I would love to be able to do that someday. I've wanted to go to Japan for as long as I can remember. For the longest time, it was my dream to join the JET Programme and teach English after college. But after the earthquake, it just didn't seem safe anymore to stay that long. I don't want to spend a year in a foreign country and the rest of my life worrying about developing cancer after exposure to radiation. Still, I want to go for a week or two, see the sites and, yes, look for dolls or doll accessories.

    4. I have not traveled just to get a doll, but I probrobly would. Especially if I wanted to go to that place anyways.

    5. I went to Tenshi-no-Sato for my birthday, and got a kyo-tenshi!

    6. I have never been out of the U.S. for anything but I was planning to go on the summer study abroad program to Kyoto this summer and stop by Tenshi no Sato to pick up an FCS doll and some stuff for my girl (had to change my plans though, can't go now)
but I'd love to go someday, maybe after graduation and/or if I get into the JET Program

EDIT (09/20/2015): I'm still planning to travel with my doll as I'm planning on moving out of the country once I find a job but I'm terrified by the idea of anything happening to her now! Her box is way too big to fit into a suitcase without taking up all of it and it being oversize (so I would be charged an extra fee and/or be forced to check the bag) which is not doable for many reason. I'm looking for a nice padded bag that isn't too big but fits her, my laptop(s), external HDDs and a few other things that cannot be checked and it's driving me nuts.

    7. I have never traveled for the purpose of buying doll things, but I have bought doll things while traveling. I found (and bought) a bunch of doll-sized stuff in Kyoto once. When I lived in Japan I bought four dolls, but they were all from Korean companies and had to be shipped to me anyway so I don't know if that really counts.

    8. Doll shopping in a foreign country sounds like such fun, even though I'm scared to go to a country where I don't know how to ask for the bathroom.:sweat

    9. Been to Japan and bought couple items!
