Finally got a chance to put a face on one of my boys just in time for the flowers

This head is pretty small compaired to my ShouRyu head. He's wearing a 7-8 wig!

I just got my head, Hwa-lan from the second sale, without face-up in NS. : )

I'm already looking for a body for him, even though I'd thought he'd just be a head for a while. * U* Even without face-up, he is so beautiful~

 

Yay! Someone else that got him! I saw there were so few on the English page that bought him this time around.
I got NS with the faceup, and it didn't hit me until I was trying out wigs and eyes, that he's a dead ringer for Seiji Sawamura!
He's currently using one of my guy's older Volks SD13 body, but I'm thinking he'll end up with either the Doll Family one, or a Miro doll one. I may try the Miro one first, even though it's too buff for the character, it's about $100 cheaper than the DF one.

Both of those bodies are gorgeous, but why not just save up for the DF one, since you said the other one wouldn't work for the character? :3

Augh, I'm looking at the Little Monica body, maybe. I'm not too sure of the resin match, but the body is gorgeous. * U*; Either that or Illusion Spirit.

 

I was afraid the Little Monica body might be too big proportion-wise for his little head. Though that's a gorgeous body too.
I like the Luts Senior Delf body too, but again... I worry his head is too small.
It looks pretty good on the YID Iple body, both model and muscle, but I kind of want something different for this guy.

This is when I really wish there was a store nearby that had all these bodies in it, and you could take your head, and try it on all the bodies until you found the "right" one.

 

Aernath;; Aaah, I guess that's true. XDD Aaah, his head is rather small, isn't it? I don't have another head to compare it to, really. I only have a MNF head lying around. @ u@;

Man, it'd be nice to have a place to try bodies on! XD It'd be so helpful! ha ha ha!

 

The more I look at the Little Monica body, the more I like it. I think 62cm is about the tallest I'd want for this guy though. I tried him on my 65cm M Line Crobi Doll body, and ... it just doesn't work.

I got Hwa-lan this time around also.

I let him borrow my Ducan's body for a bit and he looked surprisingly good proportionally on it, probably because DoT boys have small heads also. Color match wasn't horrible due to the body's age, but good luck finding another one that old. Currently I'm thinking of putting him on a 2nd or 3rd gen B&G body since its muscular but small to match the head size. I'd love to see what bodies everyone puts their Hwa-lan on, yours looks awesome Aernath! Love his faceup too, makes me regret getting mine blank.

I'll try to get pictures of him on the bodies I have here. They're not all that popular or even current, really. But, they'll help with size proportions, I think.
He looks good on the DollnDoll body, but I need him to fill out that school uniform, and it just falls off that body. So I need a bigger body for my purposes.
There's a Doll Family body in the marketplace, but wow, the Normal Yellow resin looks too dark. So now I'm not so sure about that body either. (And now I remember why I don't generally buy heads without bodies - I'm not one to relish The Search.)
I totally fell in love with the faceup, so knew I had to get it! Was absolutely thrilled to see him in person - he's exactly like the photos were! And then to have him just fall so perfectly into this character for me, was just an added bonus.

I see... that makes a lot of sense!! XD If I had clothes for him already, I, too, would be trying to find a body to fit!

I wish I had gotten the face-up, but they were nice enough to allow me to order even though they had ended the preorder already, so I didn't want to bother them. XD And good thing I didn't, I'd be sitting at $0 right now if I did! And now, I get to try my hand at one. * x*;;;;

So... I was just looking at the DnD body, since you said he looked good on that one, and the shoulders are 3cm smaller than the Little Monica body! I wonder if that'd be a problem... Everything else (besides the length of the foot ) seems about the same. But what do I know? XD

 

From my experience Chinese NS-Y can tend to be darkish so if the head is pale NS its probably not going to match well. I can definitely say Hwa-lan is way lighter than my AoD normal yellow body, but only a teeny smidge lighter than my daughter's B&G girl. DoD resin does tend to be very pink but it fades out to a nice cream color the older it gets. My Ducan is 4 years old and had been played with a lot so he's very creamy, though still a little pink next to yellow toned dolls. DoT boys are 64cm but skinnier than most 60cms so I think Hwa-lan would look good on any body that has a less muscular, more wiry build, even if it was a bit tall. My desk is a mess atm so I was only able to take a couple of quick shots of Hunter on the body.

Thanks for the body pictures! The comparison with Iple is pretty surprising. Hwa-lan seems to match my Iple matching 2007 MD Miho but if there's going to be a difference in photos that changes things. Now I need to drag down all my guys and do some resin comparison shots to add to the pool! By the by, do you know what resins match Impl?

 

Holy crap batman, the difference is astounding and now I'm back to having no idea what body to try. I still really hate that Volks body. -.- Looks like long hair and a DollandDoll body from here.

If I remember correctly Impl has a little chart on their page that shows how close they are to different resins. Right now it has only 7 or eight listed. Volks being the closest at about 95%. I thought it was the coolest handy dandy thing I'd ever seen.
