Oceanmoon Hwa-Lan!

I just got through buying Kiya's Hwa-Lan head last month. He is NS and absolutely beautiful. His head is pretty small, though. Even smaller than my Elfdoll SD and her head is smaller than my other SDs.

I love the face-up, though, on the NS on the website. I had originally wanted that one, but the only palce that still had it was in Europe and the cost was prohibitive to get it here. I think I am going to go ahead and get the NS with the faceup from before. Not sure what to do with my extra head, though.

Comparing my NS head with the other BJDs I have around here, the resin seems to match my old Custom House male body from 2006 perfectly so probably Volks as well, but the head might be too small for those bodies.

 

I had my NS head on an old short-legged Volks body for a while, and it looked great proportion wise (and the resin matched fairly well - the body is a little yellowed). But a month or so ago, I got a Custom House body in NS that is now his permanent body. It's perrrrfect! I need to take photos, but he's currently bareassed naked. ^_^;;
And I've already signed up for the ws head. Could NOT resist! That B faceup is so yummy! Of course now, the resin/body-matching game begins anew...

i have few question for hwa land 2nd ed as well ~
the limited mean the head is limited or the time limited? (sorry for the newbie question , i'm no good with english )

 

Nami, the time frame is limited, but when I emailed them back in the summer, they had no plans to offer the 2nd ed. head in NS ever again so I would take the opportunity to get it now if you want one.....oh, and I think your English is perfectly fine

Thanks aernath! Ihave extra female bodies, but seriously lacking in male bodies. I have three floating male heads and another Hwa-Lan would make four. Still, there is just something about the 2nd ed. faceup that moves me and I don't feel like trying to recreate it on the head I already have. I think he will move to the top as far as the body list goes.

I love the CH SD bodies so that is great to know he is proportional for them. The CH boy I have is a LE from 2006 and I know the bodies have been a lot whiter recently than from his time frame. Is your CH body recent? With the current CH sales, it would be a great time to invest in a body if it still matches.

 

Ohh yes, I've handled a few customhouse in person for faceup/body blushing projects and I'm surprised I forgot about them. Their NS probably is a good match! 0.0

 

gracie - I thiiiiiink he's newer? I got him second hand from someone on ebay. He arrived to them with a broken and missing finger on his right hand, so they sold him for very little. ^_^;; I thought at that price ($130?), I couldn't go wrong. Got the body in and it was just a perfect match all around for me. The body certainly looks brand new.

But now... I wonder what white resins will match the OM now...

I don't know what I was smoking when I was remembering the resin tone match. LOL It's totally off. I think I was just so stoked that the body is the perfect balance of muscle definition and proportions for the character, that I was blind to the resin shades. Plus, my guy will be wearing long sleeves to cover up the joining with Midori at his wrist, so there won't be a whole lot of body resin showing in most cases. ^_^;;

I find the proportions are quite nice!
Yes, it's an 8" head, and that yellow fur wig used to be on an Angel of Dream Jade's head. These guys are a little bit smaller than the usual 63-65cm guys. 60cm is a better fit, imho.

 

aernath, it looks like you have one of the newer aidolls body. My CH boy body from 2006 matches perfectly. Of course then the only problem is where to get the older bodies from that time? That is too bad the newer ones don't work. Thanks for the picture, though!

 

He's so pretty, but will he look awkward sitting next to my Oceanmoon Shou-Ryu? His head looks a lot smaller than Shou-Ryu. I don't suppose anyone has THAT comparison anywhere?

When you compare HwaLan to ShouRyu head (which is 9"), it looks a bit smaller on the diameter and between the sides of the head; however, the facial feature (eyes, nose, mouth, chin, etc) and the neck joint's sizes are almost the same as ShouRyu.

Although the diameter of HwaLan's head is 8", his face size is not too small.
HwaLan is designed to be compatible with 60cm class body.

HwaLan wears MSD size wigs due to his head diameter,
but it looks flawlessly natural.

Please throw that worry of yours about size/ratio compatability out the window :-)

We have decided to receive orders for the Normal Skin as well, since we are doing the White Skin.
This pre-order of HwaLan head is the last sale accepted at Oceanmoon's website; however, the pre-order period is longer than usual.

 

Finally found a close match to my Oceanmoon body! ^u^ K-Doll Karon in Volks-ish Normal skin is very similar to Oceanmoon Normal skin. The texture and the weight are remarkably close!

Oohhh I really don't want to miss this beautiful head again this time. Does anyone have an idea if NS Spiritdoll would work for the NS Hwa-Lan head? Meanwhile he could borrow one of my Volks bodies, but only temporaray.

 

I have ordered Hwa-lan today, but I'm not sure if it worked. Did anyone also have problems with placing the order at Oceanmoon's board? My order didn't show up, I have no idea what went wrong. Do you need to be logged in an own account and create a username/password? I didn't see any section for creating an account. So I have sent an email with my order, but I'm not sure if they write back if the order is ok

 

Sadomina No, I haven't had any problem. You don't need to create your own account. You need to put your name, password, and ONLY the red character in the boxes then check the secret. (press 'confirm' not 'comment' I'd pressed comment then everything disappeared! =///..///=")

I think they will answer within 24 hours because they have to translate but they really answer within a day! (That's really nice ^^)

It seems every time I'm looking for a NS body, all I can find are WS, and now that I'm looking for WS, all I seem to find are NS.
He's SUCH a beautiful face! I love him to pieces! ^___^
And the folks at OM are sweethearts! Just give them a day or so to get your email translated. They are really great about replying quickly!

I first thought I'd order the NS version (I have more NS dolls for body sharing and also because NS is easier to find), but I couldn't resist the WS faceup B version... I was so happy to find a WS body just the weekend before I wanted to place my Oceanmoon order.
