Thank you! I’ll post some more photos soon in her prom dress! (Which is made from, and a replica of, my actual prom dress!)
So EIGHT YEARS AGO (sheesh time flies!) I said: Well a strange thing happened the other night - Having decided I wasn't interested in dolls any more and was even going to sell my AoD Shang Nai, I was really bored & looking through all my doll photos on flickr just to pass time - oohing and ahhing at all the lovelies I've lost over the years (including my darling B&G Sandra in my avatar, Erica). I never go on ebay any more but thought impulsively (as one does LOL) I'll just see if by incredible chance, someone is selling a B&G Sandra... NO they were not! (sigh) But I am pretty darned sure I found my old Claudette! So although I'm apparently "not interested in dolls any more" - this is family! And also FATE - what a coincidence I decided to look at ebay again! Managed to resist sensibly for about 36 hours before putting in an offer - Now just waiting for her to come home again! I may be mistaken - I guess I'll find out on closer inspection but if anyone could post a photo of their certificate for me PLEASE I'll have a better idea of how unique they are (or aren't!) TY
I never came back here to show my lovely MSD-sized girly but I love my Nicola so much! (This is an older faceup and her blushing looks a little Rosacea-ish but I've actually grown to like it )
Oh she is very cute @0bsequi0us - I didn't see this sculpt back when it came out - I love the way you've styled her!
Well look who arrived today I have got thus far with unboxing, before collapsing in an exhausted heap with a cup of tea. Much better packaging than team Mirodol/Arwen managed so no breakages this time thank goodness! Head was not attached to S-hook though so I am currently trying to find something I can use as a head hook pulling tool - might need a slice of cake to help me think better though LOL - I am currently planning on naming my plumptious beauty Delia - that could change though - Lovely faceup by Eludys! claudette 31 aug 2025 by elve, on Flickr
Found a pink shoelace makes the perfect head-hook pulling tool (has to be pink though LOL) FINALLY got Delia wigged up and dressed in some of the lovely clothes which her seller, @jemmilly kindly included! I didn't think my AoD Shang Nai, Daisy, had a very expressive face but she is definitely sulking at not being the only doll in the room LOL oops! LOL by elve, on Flickr
Got this blonde wig $1 from Alice's Collections when I ordered my 1/4 AoD Shang Nai last year - so it's way too small for Delia but actually bigger than the Monique wig she came in (which was 6"-7" held on with velcro dots) This one's 7"-8" so figured it might fit too, and it does stretch between those velcro dots! Had to let the side plaits down to make it more in proportion & it is way too shiny but I really love the style on her. I love her black wig too but wanted something more 'rustic' to suit the DoA sewing project (mori girl) Not that I have sewn anything yet but thankfully she came with sewing patterns by Arwen so I have no excuses LOL I never would have thought to put a 1/4 size wig on her though if she hadn't come with one already - velcro is magic! delia blonde by elve, on Flickr
So! It's been a while I made a basic cream, lace trimmed top and skirt for Delia, for the 'mori girl' sewing project ages ago, and bought some cosy clothes from Alices, to finish the look. Took a gamble and bought 1/3 stockings for slouchy socks, 1/3 boots which zip half way up the back with her chunky calves, and a lovely cardigan/coatigan, listed on acbjd under 'boy tops' - Bought in 70cm size which is perfect now I've rolled the sleeves up! Really liking this look on her so bought the same blonde wig in 1/3 size (8-9 inch) and again let the plaits/braids down from the back to make it more casual. Daisy (AoD Shang Nai) seems to have got over her initial pique at having to share the sofa, and I think they look like mother & daughter TBH - very cute together! autumn clothes by elve, on Flickr
I have loved seeing your progress on her! I'm paring down my collection of 150 BJDs, or trying to, but my Claudette will always remain! I wish I'd gotten another when I could, but I do do live my girl! Maybe next year, in 2026, shell get a face up finally. She's a keeper!
