Only really liking one company?

Jan 3, 2015

1. I started my collection with dolls from 3 companies - Dollmore, Dream of Doll, and Mythdoll. And then I saw Luts/ CP/ Fairyland. And I was lost. Of my entire crew of 12, 8 of them are from Luts or Fairyland (mostly Luts). There's just something about those faces!

I'm trying to branch out a bit more and I've seen some Iplehouse and Soom dolls that I like but none have yet to walk in my door. Maybe someday.

2. I think what attracts me to a company is the personality/look of their sculpts. I'm drawn to more ethereal beauty, and I've really fallen in love with Souldoll and Crobidoll. I used to be an only Fairyland girl because of their beautiful girls, but since my tastes have leaned more towards boys my eyes started to wander!

3. I thought I would only like one company when I first started looking. I'm really picky with noses.

But as I started exploring other companies and see what was offered, I noticed that almost every company I run into has one face that I really like. When I find a face I like, I start looking at the bodies. So far I've found 4-5 companies whose dolls I really like.

4. It would be easier if I had this problem. But unfortunately (or fortunately?) I tend to like a wide variety of aesthetics and have or plan to have dolls from all over creation.

5. I got into BJDs after a single look at Supiadoll's Giyom. I've been thinking abt buying a bjd for years, and never found a boy I'd really want to have by my side, untill I saw Giyom at Supiadoll's. Seriously. That was love at first sight.
I still find my Supia boy the most precious doll ever, and if I ever want to buy a second doll like, a boyfran for him, he's gonna be a Supia creation most likely.
This doesnt mean I love all the Supia dolls, I dislike a lot of them Supia earlier girls, for example. But all the Supiadoll boys are perfect to me. They have such unique, well sculpted faces, with a lot of attention to detail.

6. I started with FL and have 13. Then fell in love with Leeke and have 4. Now I like Peaks Woods. So I am fickle but I always keep all of my dolls and still love the brand I am not currently buying. I do not see a future without doll love in it!! :)

7. I definitely have my favorite companies, but I don't really stick with any. Whatever fits what I have in mind or whatever comes out with something I love. I'm just all over the place

8. I'm extremely picky with what sculpts make it to my wishlist, I'm very particular about eye/mouth/nose proportions and a lot of companies tend to exaggerate or diminish these features. Buuuuuuut I'm obsessed with the Little Rebel sculpts, I love them, I think most of them are on my wishlist too XD

9. I think I've become partial to PeaksWoods without trying and without even having a doll yet. I look around at a bunch of different sites but I always go back to PeaksWoods. >~<

10. Soom dragged me into the hobby way back when. I am put off by their rather recent price increases, but still can't completely let them go. If I collected MSD and YoSD size, I'd want to buy all those from soom too. I love to browse iplehouse but have always a hard time getting on board with their high prices, and if soom goes up anymore they're going to be in that same boat...which would probably be best for my savings account anyways...

11. It happened to me in the first time I saw those incredible dolls that did not look like anyone else, and voila - I fall in love with Doll-Chateau dolls. I had no any other doll before. Now awaiting my very first DC Lydia.

12. I don't have a favourite >.< I really love Doll Chateau, Peakswoods, Leekeworld Art dolls...... I'm always looking at other companies too... My tastes have changed a lot since I first got into the hobby.

13. Most of my dolls are from Migidoll but I like Luts too. :) Also I adore switch dolls.

14. gummiepink Omg I love Migis too <3 That's one of the first companies I ever saw when delving into bjds, and I'm still into Jina, Cho... I used to own Ell for a while too :) they're all adorable :) So, yeah, if I *had* to own several doll and all of them from one company only i'd go for the Migis, I guess :) A year ago or so I had this Migi Phase, I admit ;)

15. I stick to primarily Soom, because they have beautiful girls and I love their fantasy styles. I have had numerous others in the past (AOD, Resinsoul, Souldoll, Luts, Volks, Obitsu, Pipos, FairyGarden.... I'm sure theres more that I am just not thinking of...) and although I really like some of the others, they never stuck around for varying reasons. If I decided to ever go back to collecting tinies again I would venture back into pipos or fairygarden, but since they don't make large girls and that is what I am trying to limit myself too then I am safe from them for now.

16. Fairyland.
I'm a super snob when it comes to posing.
These dolls are supposed to pose well (and HOLD that pose on its own), so I have very high expectations for it.
I've yet to meet a brand that is superior to Fairyland with regard to posing abilities.

17. CutieKitty I adore ryu sculpt, I saw him when I start this hobby and I fell in love *-* :) Also I like Jina and Cho aww they look adorable <3

18. The first doll I ever saw was from Volks, but I never did plan to have a collection made out of nearly all Volks sculpts. However, it kind of just gravitated that way. I don't actively limit myself to it, but I enjoy dolls with a similar aesthetic and with a similar resin feel. I've tried collecting from other companies, but I always end up selling them off. >.< Even though they don't pose so well and my wallet cries everytime I buy one. Lol.

19. Dollmore~! It's a no-brainer for me since I love the size. And they are the only ones offering 100+ size... besides one doll that I have which is ot.

20. I plan on getting dolls from different companies, but I really like Doll Chateau and DreamHigh Studio. Ironically I don't actually have any specific dolls from ethier company on my wish list but I really like the weird faerie aesthetic and tend to enjoy most of their work. I also wound up with two of Batchix Mini-Machina, and one hybrid with a Mini-Machina body so...
