1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. When I get a fulltime job and after I move to the city, yes. Right now it's all I kind of spend my money on, other than saving to move away. So yeah. I think it's a great idea.
      <3

    2. If I made a saving account just for dolls, then I would end up feeling guilty for spending so much.

    3. Yes I would to prevent me from spending food and bill money on dolls. It has happened before and I fear it shall happen again.

    4. I haven't done it, but I don't think it's a bad idea. Seperating out the cash used for things like dolls from the cash used to pay bills can make it easier to not overspend. I've considered adding money to my paypal balance as a way of doing that, but right now, I have no cash to spend anyway, lol.

    5. That's my method too. Of course, it's easy to spend that money on doll things instead of saving for the big doll purchase, lol

    6. Moving my money to Paypal is also a method I use, as well as keeping a piggy bank and mug on my desk for change and spare bills. Later, those are taken to the bank and moved to Paypal. Yay for two-step processes! :sweat

    7. I voted no because I don't keep my doll money in the bank. It goes into my Paypal account which I use for doll purchases. My doll funds come from selling other dolls & since most people pay with Paypal anyway, it only makes sense to leave it there.

    8. I just use my PayPal account as my "play money"....all funded from the clothing that I make....so I have to work extra hard to have enough for more dolls! ;)

    9. Wow!

I answered "maybe" because I never actually thought about it before. But it would make a heck of a way to keep better track of myself!!

      *slinks off to ponder*

If I opened one at the same place my kids have their savings accounts, I could make it a rule that I had to walk over there to deposit money. That way I'd be shedding pounds too ;)

    10. No, but I am an adult (did I say adult? I meant old person LOL) with the ability to spend money on a hobby in a different way than if I were a younger person. I think however that it is an excellent idea especially because you can earn interest on the money that you are saving. I have an Orange account on line, it's very good. Also some people save better that way, the notion of holiday savings accounts has been around forever, for a good reason.
Baakay, that's a great idea. I wish I had a bank in jogging distance!

    11. I voted yes, because it is a good idea.I will definetly do that one day. Then you know your doll money and your other money are separate and dont get confused about how much you've actually got in doll savings. :D

    12. I wouldn't open a seperate account at a bank, per say, just because I'm too lazy/busy to go through all the paperwork. But I do have a special jar at home where I keep money I'm trying to save. I can't just put it in my checking account and say "ok, no spending that" because I use my check card for everything. But I never use cash, so (and I think this is completely backwards from most people.. :sweat ) if I have the cash, I won't spend it. So I'm safe with it in a jar at home. :sweat

But it is a very good idea, I think.

    13. actually that sounds like my paypal accoutn XD

    14. Well it's not a bad idea at all!
That would mean no more money transfers between different banks...
But I'll stick with mr piggy bank, it's more (good old fashioned) fun :blush

    15. I have a jar in my room where I put the money I save for dolls x) I don't trust bank-accounts, lol.

    16. I have one checking account and savings account just for fun stuff, like dolls, doll clothes, clothes for me ect.

    17. I voted "yes" because I already have one! It's my Paypal account.
It is very convenient to have a seperate "doll account", for several reasons. XD

    18. It's only worth opening a separate doll savings account if one it doesn't cost you fees to open one with a low balance and two it earns interest on the balance otherwise it's more worthwhile to put the money in a "piggy" bank

No for me but like Stella Maris I'm an older person. I have an e-savings account that I earn 5% interest on I usually buy via paypal and pull from my account to pay my credit card at the end of the month. I do tend to hold a budget though. I only buy what I can pay for in a month and don't run the balance on the credit card

    19. Heh, I'm quilty :sweat I thought it was a good idea and opened account like that a week ago.

    20. Thanks for responding, everyone! :D

A lot of people have various ways of saving up for dolls!

I just tend to overspend when everything is all in one pot so I opened a different savings account that is just dedicated to spending on stuff I don't need (ie: dolls, doll accressories, etc).

For me, it is just a way to organize my finances. In the future, I'll open a time CD for bigger things (ie: plane tickets, vacation money, future big-ticket purchases).

There was a time when I did not have an separation between what I would spend on dolls and what I would spend on necessities and that I almost wiped out my whole bank account. :o

I learned my lesson and that's why I opened a different savings account to put extra money for dolls, etc. :sweat
