1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I having two savings accounts - one for entertainment (dolls, video games, manga, etc), and one for emergencies/retirement. The entertainment account is new. I think this will help me keep everything in balance.

    2. I already have one. It's actually a normal savings account, but I use it for dolls. Currently it has 8 euro though.. ^^;

    3. I already have one too--for anything doll/paypal related. Big rule is that none of it is supposed to go on the cc, so a separate account was something I actually did early on.

    4. The way I save for dolls is pretending I spent the money in my balance book and keeping a running total here on DoA  I suppose eventually I may start putting the money into a savings account but as it stands now I don't have the time to go to the bank and set that up :sweat

    5. I already have a saving account that I'm using specifically for dolls. My other saving account is for emergencies and packing back my student loan.

    6. I have a on-line savings account which is really handy as i cant access the money unless im on a pc. It makes saving so much easier as i dont get tempted to spend it. Ive used it to pay for holidays to the us before i found out about bjd. But now its my fund for my first ever doll!

    7. That's actually a good idea. I didn't think of that really. But I like that idea. I could put a little in it everynow and then... or every pay check. (doesn't get payed much)

I was wondering what I was gonna do for money. XD

    8. Oh dear...I never even though about that...probably not for me...I think that I would appear a tad obssessive if I did that. I manage my money well and when I think my funds are good, I get a doll. Usually I'll have a reason, sorta like "If I manage to lose 20 pounds, I'll get a doll" and for me...20 pounds is hard because I'm at my set weight but I could lose more and gain more muscle...I haven't been able to successfully do it for years...stupid weight...

I wouldn't be surprised if someday in Japan or Korea they came out with a BJD Mastercard where you get points for getting a doll when you buy stuff with it...I mean...hell they already have a WoW one...

    9. Hmm... Maybe... As I don't trust myself seeing my funds in my bank account, I'm a total shoppaholic who rapes all the funds from her bank. This is why to this day I still don't have a doll - yet. :doh

I think making a separate savings account that I won't be able to withdraw from or something like that, would be great for me. :)

    10. I do already have 2 seperate bank accounts- 1 for daily cashflows & the other is for savings (which would eventually go to buying dolls). I'll set aside $500-600 every month once income comes in into the savings account, pay rent & bills before leaving the remaining for daily expenses. ^^b It's a great method for me~ (I don't ever let myself spend first before saving & paying fixed costs)

    11. I keep my Doll-money in an extra Piggy bank or money box . At the moment that is is enough for me. ^^

    12. Allo~:aheartbea

since i was having trouble deciding if i should get paypal or not; after reading everyones opinion this is something id like to consider doing :) currently i only have a savings account, no paypal and the credit card thats not my own but my dads :sweat

      thanks to everyone~

    13. Yep - in a very cool box I got and have tucked away...:)

What gets me is that I have never been good at saving - never really tried very hard I s'pose. And yet I am having no problem whatsoever with saving for these gorgeous creatures. :dance Guess you can always learn something about yourself.:cheer

    14. I have a bank account that is linked to my Paypal account. I consider this to be my dolly fund, since I don't use it for anything else really.

    15. Not yet but I'm planning to in the future. Just easier! Plus it's like a reminder to not touch the money XD

    16. i think i SHOULD have an account for doll saving (but opening an extra account costs 20bucks overhere hehe) but i dont know, i need to save for a lot of different stuff which are more important than dolls. so i should have a saving acount for all that stuff first

    17. I did do this! I had a seperate savings account just for one of my dolls. I even named it for the doll I was saving for. ^_^
...but after I got the doll, I closed the account. I would do it again though, if I needed to save for another doll.

    18. I have two savings accounts; one at my bank to save for normal expenses, then a high-yield one with ING Direct that is for my major purchases that I want to save for, like dolls and travel. Since it's an online account, I can't get to the funds as easily as I can with my regular accounts, hence I'm more likely to save it faster. I currently have almost enough to buy my next doll, a Lati Rei Christopher!

    19. Those Orange savings accounts are awesome, and I was just going to post something that suggested people looking to save for a doll check them out, but I'm glad to see someone else here has already done that.

Plus, don't you get like $25 every time you refer someone? If everyone wondering here about savings accounts got together and worked out some crazy account referral pyramid scheme, you could make money for dolls that way! >:D

    20. I feel really inefficient compared to everyone who has opened an account for specific things. :sweat
I keep my doll-collecting money in a jar (I have $80 over the past fortnight, which is good-going!), whereas any other money from working goes into my bank account. Though I still need phone money, petrol money, God knows what else. :...(
