1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I think I will do the pre paid credit card too. Some one else is doing that I read. It would help me keep my money separate and easier to meet my goals.

    2. That's a really good idea. A little scary :sweat but a good idea. I'm going to follow your lead!

    3. That's not a bad idea... XD

Sadly, I'm too lazy. All my money is just going to get stored away in my little Japanese music box or something. XD (As of now, it has no proper place. >_> Except my wallet, which could be a very bad thing.)

    4. They absolutely are! I work at a bank and the interest rates we're offering on a regular statement savings can't touch the rates offered by ING - 4.3% versus about 1.5%. Plus, it's so easy to transfer the money and it's out of my immediate reach (which is the most important thing!)

Do they offer a referral bonus? Dang, we could totally set up a scheme, couldn't we?? ;)

Seriously though, it pays to do a bit of research online for high-yield savings accounts that don't have a balance limit.

    5. I believe I voted yes awhile back. I do have a savings account for my dolls. It doesn't collect interest though... D:

    6. Yeps. And I already opened an account where I'll get my future bjd purchases from. :)

    7. I'm soooo super bad for not even visiting this place for a long time! However, I thank all of you who participated in the polls and responded to my thread. :D

Yeah, I moved my BJD money savings to a PayPal account so that it will be easy to pay for stuff when I buy things for my dolls! Other saving strategies are good, too! Well, whatever works. :D

    8. OMG, thats what me and my sisters do.
We have a seperate money box that we only use for doll related things like: shipping fees, wigs, eyes.....only small things like that^^

    9. My only savings account is my Doll Money account. The only time I ever put money in there is if it's for a doll or doll related things.

    10. I already have an account that I opened to pay for my dollie habit, lol. I put money away each month into it. It means ill be able to pay for my 3rd doll when I am ready to order him. ^_^
I also transfer any money I make from selling on ebay to that account. I can budget so easily this way and you get used to putting aside a small amount each month that now I hardly notice the money going into my savings. ^_^

Its a totally seperate account to my main account plus I can access it online to transfer funds from it to pay for my dolls quickly and easily.

    11. I've been thinking about doing just that for the last week or so. Not just for dolls though, for their clothes and anything I need to buy online. So, I'll have one bank account for buying online, and one for saving for a new computer, perfect. :)

    12. not a separate savings account - but i have a "doll money envelope", that i add a little to each paycheck.

    13. I use ING Direct - I personally would probably end up using cash stored around, and it'd have to be deposited eventually anyway. Since my paycheck is direct deposited, that'd mean I'd have to get the money out, store it away, and then put it back in to use it. Plus ING pays interest. If you're saving up pennies it makes sense to let someone else put pennies in for you.

    14. I need to transfer some funds into mine but it seems like it takes forever to transfer it!

    15. Yes, 100% yes :XD: I have already maxed out on credit card, just getting my 60cm Bobobie male BJD. I can't wait for him to get here, but yeah... my poor poor credit card. I am seriously getting a savings account just for my dolls!

Nah, seriously... I need to get an apartment before I can go that far, but heck yes. If I had the opportunity, I would in a heart beat.

    16. I have my savings and checking account, and I'm pretty good with working out my budget without having seperate accounts for things. For me its not hard to just add something into my current savings budget and know what money goes where.
A seperate account may be easier for keeping small emergencies (like the transmission on your vehicle dropping out,) but in that case the money in a seperate account if its all there is to cover it, is also likly to be used anyway.

    17. I have a dollie savings accout through a credit union so there are almost no fees. I then have money automatically deducted from my pay check, so that I never touch it. I don't have too taken out, that way I am not tempted to dip into it to pay for other things.

This is also my paypal account so I can only spend what is in there. This helps me not run up huge dollie bills I can't pay for. And...it is MINE! No husband's allowed. That way there are never any arguments about what I am spending on my dolls.

    18. I've thought of this. I'm really not too great with money and opening a second account just for dolly stuff would help out a lot in terms of saving up for something.

For now, I just keep dolly funds in a little bank at home.

    19. Sounds like a wonderful idea and if I knew my parents and bank would be cool with it I would definitly open another one just for dolls. But I always find what happens and is much less of a hassle is saving actual cash and putting it in a safe location at home or whatever your preference. If you do that with cash you can always have a constant count and it's right there for you till you need a paypal or whatever else you use.

    20. I've been thinking about opening an account that I keep at the minimum to connect to my Paypal. Then when I decide to buy a doll or clothes, etc. I can deposit some money and avoid the credit card issues, but I don't have to worry about someone possibly accessing my account and taking money out of it since there won't be much in there normally.

Does anyone else have something like this set up and think it is a good idea?
