1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I have a habit of using the original company names for my dolls because I just get used to it! For a couple of them, I don't mind keeping the names, but there are some I wish I could come up with a better name for.

    2. I tend to name my dolls based on what comes to mind before I buy them, while staring intently at their photographs (lol). The dolls I've brought home, I named long before they were ever in my hands! And yes, I did give them new names simply because I didn't feel like their original company names fit. There is one doll that I wouldn't change from the original sculpt name, though. It just suits her too well and is so unusual a name too. I don't think I'd change it at all! <3

    3. Usually, I have a character in mind and then find a doll that looks as like them as possible.
However, this time around, the perfect match to my character has the same name as she does!
      It was total serendipity.

    4. Whether or not I have a character in mind, I give them all new names. This turns them from "doll" to "my doll" in my head. Bonus points for everyone being named for flowers, giving them a sense of unity.

One of my dolls has a piece of her original name though, to commemorate her rarity and the circumstances in which I got her. She went from Shinku (Crimson) to Kouzubaki (Red Camellia.)
