1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Other people handling your dolls

Jul 13, 2005

    1. No one wants to handle my dolls for fear of breaking them. Though the people I show Marc to are responsible and respectful people, and I trust them. They always think he's like porcelain...xD It's sort of funny to watch them hold Marc like he's very fine glass work or something.

They tend to be tons more gentle them I am, actually. O_o

    2. My children already know not to touch mummy's other dollies and ponies unless I let them HOWEVER my bobobie will NOT be touched by anyone except me. :?

    3. I hide my dolls whenever a kid is close.. They won't even know the dolls are there :F I panicked cus my mother was fixing my AOD Rao's hair.. And the kids saw her.. So I grabbed her and ran away with her and let my mother finnish up when the kids had gone to bed

    4. Ugh, the whole idea of kids messing with and breaking my dolls just makes me shudder. I like kids in general, but my ex-boyfriend's nephews were hellions like this. Their parents would yell at them not to touch other people's things, but then the parents wouldn't watch them, and by the time they'd yell at the kids again it was too late. I couldn't say much either, because they weren't my relatives. Now I have a dog who's a hellion--so no dolls anywhere near the floor!

If I ever have kids . . . yeah, they aren't touching my dolls until they can treat them carefully and gently. But they'd have their own (less expensive ones!) if they wanted them, of course. :)

    5. I just don't like parent thats don't take responsebility over thier children, sheesh! If I where you would call your stepsister in advance and tell her about the rules och what will happend if the kids disobey. Sure, she will take it in a bad way, but it's your house and your rules!
But do put locks on the doors to the studios and hide the dolls.

    6. My boyfriend is so clumsy, once he threw down my Seed dragon, I was furious! Thankfully nothing happened, he doesn't even have a scratch!
Yesterday he upsetted my two LTFs and my two PKFs and I heard something fallen from the table, my heart skipped a beat because I thought it was a faceplate. Thankfully it was "just" my rare Kuroo sheep horn. I won't let him come near my dolls any time soon anymore... :o

    7. I shivered when I read this, hehe. (The laughter is because I understand all too well, not because I think the situation is funny.) I wouldn't let him come near my dolls either! My dad is like this actually . . . When I moved home, he kept slinging my boxes of dolls and collectibles around and dropping them on the floor instead of setting them down. I tried so many times to tell him nicely to be careful with them, but he just acted like I was being anal and kept doing it. Sure enough, some of my little ooak clay figures were broken. Ugh. :/

P.S. What is a Seed dragon? It sounds delightful. :)

    8. im thankfully an only child and my dad hates my dolls enough not to mess with them and he does sometimes help me dress them when i bug him to help. I tell everyone to wear white cotton gloves i suggest investing in them, its the one thing i can trust when it comes to handling dolls!! :D

    9. Update from, what was it, 2005? : My niece & nephew are now in high school & I'm happy to report that after all these years they're still kind of uneasy about going in my house...let alone touching anything. Come to think of it, so is my stepsister. >__> They all seem to be much happier checking out pictures of the resinlets on Facebook! Did I do too good of a job in defending my house--savage tales of exhorbitant doll replacement fees (with no Family Discount) & the threats of cobalt paint ingestion or stained-glass gashes or calligraphy quills through the eye that live on from mother to children like specific-home urban legends? Hey, whatever works. Also I now have an Oriental Shorthair cat that they all find pretty eerie. :sneaky My Sacred Doll Temple Guardian.

Most of the dolls are in cabinets now, & every so often my niece (when my cat's asleep & she actually ventures past the front door) will skirt over to take a look in one...rather as one looks at a tiger through the cage bars. Amusingly enough, my haughty glaring Bermann unnerves her more than any of the (weirder) others. Victory is mine.

Perhaps you don't have a creepster house full of Dangerous Stuff & a Guardian Kitty, or even some method of physically separating your dolls from inquisitive/insensitive hands, but this thread is packed with years & years of accumulated wisdom--good ideas for any situation. Best of luck to everyone, & thanks for all your help! :D
