1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Others Handling Your Dolls

Sep 7, 2018

    1. dolls are mostly in my bedroom where nobody enters , I don't mind people handling my dolls and with 3 house movings in the last few years they have been carried and handled in the moving process and I don't mind people handling them but practically nobody sees them except me and if a family member comes into my room they are displayed as decorations so someone wouldf probably feel like taking a statuette from a shelf to handle except if they were a kid or a doll collector I hardly imagine they would like to handle them , so yes and no if a person gets access in my room they are free to handle them but this (my room) is the avaton of avatons (avaton = space nobody enters) so that's hardly a case happening.

    2. I kinda stress about handling them *myself*... I'm very particular about washing my hands or wearing gloves before touching them. Might be weird to explain to someone who's unfamiliar with the hobby. Also, I hide my dolls in a cupboard. So no one ever sees them. I like it that way.

I guess, I'd only let someone handle them who I know really well.

    3. I am very very cautious with others holding my dolls, this is only because my sisters ex-boyfriend knocked a very expensive and very beloved doll of mine off my desk and onto the floor, needless to say I was seething and I don’t think he understood why I was so upset, I am a very emotional person so I can have intense reactions at times, but he seemed to think that it was just me overreacting because he didn’t know the emotional and cost value of the doll and that my reaction was pretty justified (thankfully my lovely girl is safe and was not damaged) needless to say he wasn’t allowed too close to my doll or allowed to hold her after that

But with friends interested in dolls themselves I will let them carefully handle my dolls because I trust them lots.

    4. If friends wanted to, I'd let them if they promised to be careful and washed their hands. Random people- maybe not.

    5. Nope. I'm a person who has blood half siblings but I was mostly raised on my own. I learned pretty early on that letting any of them handle my things usually ended up with things getting broken or vanishing at worst. I've also lent things and not gotten them back in the same condition and that's just enough for me. I don't mind people looking but touching I don't like much. I'm possessive and careful with my stuff and my experience is most other people are not.

    6. I don’t mind if it’s someone I’m close to who is handling my dolls, especially if they’re helping me with tricky clothing or accessories. I would feel less comfortable if someone I didn’t know too well was handling my dolls. Not many people visit me, and those who do are typically close to me, so thankfully it’s not much of an issue.

    7. Hahaha, my girl sits in the wardrobe in her box and is taken out on rare occasions. Since I bought a couple of other dolls (Kurhn, Menfg, a cheap but pretty articulate 30 cm doll, incredibly cute tiny from DBS MayTree Zodiac edition) and put them in there as well taking them all out and then my bjd is a bit tiresome so I do it less lately. :/

I don't allow anyone touch my doll apart from my mom and I handle her in gloves. Back when I bought her she cost the whole monthly pay in my country so you bet I am not going to let just anyone to touch her. I have shown her to a couple of people, though with positive results.
