It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Outing with Your Bjds - taking your BJDs out in public places

Sep 16, 2014

1. This is actually something that's been bothering me lately because I just don't know where I can take my girls and not get scoffed at. I'm thinking of making a very pretty basket and taking them to anime expo this year. :)

2. No.. never..
I`m kinda paranoid about dirty streets, dirty ground etc.
I don`t like peple staring at me or my doll.
I saw peple waking down the streets with their bjd`s in their hands just as they are without any carrier bags. Well it`s great people enjoying their dolls, taking them for walk, hanging out with them. But.. oh, that dirty streets..

3. Being scoffed at? Don't you dare mind what others say, every one has smell under their pits, before smelling yours let them know they so should smell underneath theres because you are doing nothing wrong by taking them out. On the idea of the anime expo? You should ^^ It's a great experience, or so i've heard, unfortunatly i don't have that kind of expos, only comic con and no one appriciates Bjds in my country, since they never heard of them so i have to be care full where i go :) Walkergirl

4. RatLover , there are dirty surroundings everywhere in the world, even in your house! So you can't just lock them inside :) well i surely can't make you like people staring at you, but you see other people with bjd's in their hands? They are careful enough and have courage to show the world about out cute hobby. You should be like that, i myself like to take my girl out!, in my hands or not and btw i live in a island with just 90 thousand people in it, so we all know each other the word spread that i own a doll that is creepy enough to stare at me rudely, i do not mind at all :) let them stare it aint illegal to have a doll ;) You shouldnt give in at people's stares ^^

5. It's interesting you bring up comic con? Or another comic convention. I'm actually trying to go to both comic con and dragon con as well. I feel like it's ok to take your bjd to a convention because everyone there is strange/ unique so you would get all kinds of opinions. Some people say disney land is another place to take bjd but I have a hard time imagining all the kids pointing and trying to touch. -Shudder-

6. I have yet to take my girl out. I hope once she is complete that I will take her out.

7. I took one of my boys with me too school today, because some of my friends wanted to see him. (I kept him in his carrier most of the time)
In the train I showed him to a friend and a guy on the other side of the gangway started talking to me. He knew what bjd's were and one of his friends owned to.
We had a very nice talk. It's surprising to see how people react to your dolls. I would have never talked to him if I didn't bring my boy with me.

8. I took my very first doll with me to the zoo the day after she'd been put together. She had no face-up, ill-fitting clothes, and a wig I didn't want to use, but she was my darling, and by god, she was going with me.
And she came in handy, when a little girl got lost, who couldn't speak a lot of English. I let her hold my doll (which she was very careful with) and had her stand in one place, nearby where she first approached my family, until her parents arrived again.
My father tends to roll his eyes at me when I take them out, but they're tons of fun, and people tend to want to know about them.

10. Sure, I take my Erin out ^.^ I think it's fun to take pictures in public places, like the movies, or to dinner, wherever I can get away with it really. Here's me and Erin at a swanky little Asian food restaurant.

11. The first time I took my doll to a restaurant, I brought along a table and chair for her to sit at on the table. I really needed some pictures for my blog and I decided to just not care what people thought. (The waiter was a young man and he just smiled nervously.)
Last week, I took photos of my doll in the park with some ice sculptures. I even wore my snow pants so that I could lie down on the ground to get some good shots. Yes, people looked at me, but I didn't worry about it. I don't think people really care as much as we think they do. They just look because it is something different and unusual.

12. I take mine out all the time. Here's one from earlier today - my PKF Mio, Paisley, and the very frozen Hudson River. Not the first time I've photographed a doll there - it's a municipal parking lot near the train tracks and the river.

13. Such cute pictures! and people who are brave to take their dolls out! that's amazing . Keep on being one! ^^

14. The only public place I vistited with my dolls is the local BJD shop.
Maybe one day I will take them somewhere else, but for now I am not really interested in doing so. I agree with Prinz on this one. I don't want to explain these things over and over again. And I don't like the fact that people will be looking very strangely.

15. I often take my dolls out to park or cafe on meeting with my friends. I'm a little afraid of muggles - we called so people that dont know about bjd. They dont hurt us but always ask the same strange question like:
- You made this doll by yourself?
or
- its a boy or a girl?
And sometimes ask to made selfie)))

16. I've taken my doll out once when we went to the forest, and I'm never doing it again. I'm not really embarrassed about the fact that I like dolls, but I was constantly worried that people would laugh at me or talk behind my back. I know I shouldn't worry about things like that, but it's just my anxiety kicking in. I know for a fact that the waitresses at the restaurant we ate at made fun of my doll and that made me feel really uncomfortable. Also, I was constantly worried about damaging or losing her. So no, I won't take my dolls out again, for my own sake.

17. Ophelia137oh, thats really sad, i understand, but mayby your'll try with other doll owners- its much better to go out with friends and dolls, then you together, you dont fell along and other people opinion isn't so important, you dont look like crazy person but like person with cool hobby and friends

18. How you carry them on your hands?
Isn't sunlight is bad for your doll's resin?
I'm even scared to put it out of direct sunligh... Taking it out?
