1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

People who like hybrids, why?

Oct 12, 2020

    1. As a person with a preference for MSDs, a lot of companies (within my price range at least) tend to use a more juvenile style of bodies for male dolls. Since I don't want to move up a scale due to limited space, I try to find a body more suitable for the character I'm going for. I'll adore a face sculpt to bits but if the body isn't what I want it to be, I can't be totally happy with the whole doll. Something with a lil more muscle or broader shoulders for more mature looking characters, but I'll stick to the original body if it's more suitable.

    2. I like getting a precise LOOK. Hybrids aren't always the easiest way to go, but I am very picky and I am looking for very specific things usually. So hybrid is the only way I'll get EXACTLY what I want. But it can be VERY expensive. BUt I wouldn't trade my hybrids for anything! They are almost one-of-a-kind in their own way.

    3. Two big reasons for me.

One, it allows me to not have to make as big a purchase at once. Two, the more important reason, I often look at a face (or even a body) and get a character idea, but that idea almost never matches the company's default for that doll. So hybriding it is.
