Petition to get Little Jr. know as a Mini

Jul 24, 2007

    1. I think a new terminology for these dolls needs to be found altogether. My Mom suggested tiny-plus. I think thats pretty good. Wonder what the Mods would think about it?

    2. lol. I thought Little Juniors were already in the mini section. Wasn't aware they were ever considered tinies. I never considered them tinies that's for sure.

    3. I think the Mods are, generally speaking, for fewer categories. *^^*

We'll start moving Little Jr threads over to the Mini section. *^_^* (This reminds me that I need to post pictures of mine someday soon!)

    4. The "Tiny" category always seems confusing to me since there are so many different sizes included... everything from Junior size to Yo-SD size to pocket fairy/handheld, then there are your "mature" tinys like the Unoa Light... and various other sizes inbetween as well! It's quite confusing! Mini category is pretty straghtforward, mostly consisting of mini and mature mini, Large is generally 60cm scale and your few larger dolls (some of which just seem to be taller but in the same scale, some like Sabik are waaay huge).

But you can't have a category for every size or it gets to be too confusing. Otherwise I'd say split "tiny" into a few different categories since they're all quite different. : / If Junior-size has to be categorized in either Mini or Tiny they seem to be closer to Minis, but "fit" the Tiny category as it's a bit of a catch-all. : /

    5. I absolutely disagree. I own both Little Junior and Narsha, and they are much more proportionate with YO size dolls than MSDs or Minis. They are about a head taller than a YO but so much shorter than a Mini. It's also quite laughable to say they can share clothes with a Mini, I'd like to see it, but on the other hand, they share quite well with YOs. And in fact, Little Junior heads and Petite Ai heads are exactly the same size. I think any argument to the contrary is just sentimentality.

    6. [IMG]Old volks MSD (wearing Minifee outfit btw) next to Vintage Ai Odree in a dress meant for Yo size (yeah, bit short).

Little Junior are more Tiny than Mini size, imo.

-My Vintage Ai Odree (Little Junior body) can even squeeze into a pair of Dollheart Yo-size boots of mine (white winged ones).
-She's can wear a knit Barbie dress, is stretching it a bit, but still...
-She can share wigs with my YoSD, Bambicrony, Leeke (all are Tinies). Not the MSD size wigs I have (too wide).

-There are many mature Tinies on one hand & many childish Minies on the other. So that can't be a reason. In fact, my Odree has bigger breasts than any of my taller Minies. Look at my childish Sinsiya in the pic above, a girl with no chest at all!

    7. In response to Stella Maris, I have a little junior and he comfortably wears my mnf & dollmore kid's clothing and shoes as you can see:
      That's a volks MSD T Shirt and Luts MNF cargo's he's wearing.

I really never saw them as being anything other than on the shorter end of mini's and since I only have tall mini's, I just figured the difference was down to my crew being from opposite ends of the spectrum.

I also really don't see how they can be compared to Yo's and bambi's at all, I have a bambi and absolutely NOTHING that fits her fits my LJ! The difference in their height is most definitely more than a head too, this is my bambi and my LJ next to eachother:

You can see she barely comes up to his ribs!

I also have a LatiGreen and HE can share her shoes and clothes much more comfortably.

    8. I've always split the Tinies up into two in my mind-- "Tiny" for the truly tiny (Pocket Fairy, Banji, Monday's Child...), abd "Petite" for the small (Yos, Bambis, Petites, LatiGreens-- and Narshas with Little Juniors). The LJ boys are much, much bigger than the LJ girls, so if we got really picky... LJ girl for "Petite," and LJ boys for Mini. I like Soula's points, though. There are more reasons to keep it in the Tiny section for convenience of what they use (mostly tiny stuff-- aside from clothes for the LJ boys), it seems.

    9. actually, the way we discovered that LJs really aren't tinies was the fact that *nothing* my Bambicrony wears can fit Junia's LJ girl.

Soula, you seem to be somewhat admitting that it is a struggle to get LJs into Yo-sized clothing. (you have to "squeeze" her into DH boots, the Barbie clothing is a "stretch".) meanwhile, you can see from Lulu's input that LJs can fit into MNF clothing comfortably.

I'm not suggesting we make an entirely new category for them, I just suggest we transfer all LJ-related threads to the Minis section, and also put them on the Mini size comparison list.

thank you everyone thus far for your input and support!

    10. My boy wears normal 43cm style MSD clothing and, while the pants needed taking up at the bottom, the shirts and jackets fitted fine. I would certainly class him as a mini, rather than a Tiny. At 38cm, he's actually not even in the Tiny category at all no matter how you stretch definitions...

    11. Yea I agree def a mini ok on slightly smaller side, but I would def not say a Tiny, my boy wears MSD clothes, 3/4 look fab on him, at the moment he is wearing MSD tracky bottoms, I bought at the Volks Dolpa in Tokyo from a lovely seller, so MSD stuff is fine, he is wearing a baggy hoody, but I did it purposely for the look lol

these below are all MSD clothes and shoes

so yep MSD lol not tiny

    12. I never even knew that people considered them tinies @__@ But yeah, I would say they were minis - especially the boys - there's is no other way to classify them, as they're definitely too big to fit into most tiny clothes.

    13. I've always called my LJ a sub-mini, but he really does fit squarely in with my mini group in terms of personality. He's kind of got his own wardrobe, neither mini or tiny size, but I sew for him. On occasion he wears mini sized clothes, but currently he's wearing a Volks WTG shirt, which is 1/6 scale, and that's shared with my OD Il, a mini, and on rare occasion, my Yo-SD Kuuta. He's seen here with Takira's LJ Benus.

Here's Azrael again, with his sweetheart, a Sharmin/SR mini 14 hybrid. Both of them are wearing prototype/test Rini doll shirts and most of the Rini doll stuff fits slim minis. Isn't he lucky to have such a pretty, and mature, sweetie?

I agree with the mods. We don't need another category for Little Juniors and Narshas. Just some clarity. I really don't think it should be about what clothes size a doll can wear. That's pretty subjective. I've got minis that wear SD size shirts and SD kids that skinch into mini shirts sometimes and look hot in them. I see Little Juniors as minis, mostly because of their relative scale and it seems the mods do too.

    14. I was there for the comparison shots, that's my soulkid Tiffee girl she is next to in the picture, I would not consider them tiny sized, they are much closer in proportions to MSD.

    15. so where then does that leave other dolls of the same size such as Liebchen and Narsha? shouldn't they be included in this too?

    16. i have liebchen but not narsha included. But if people want me to add narshas I can

    17. Liebchen was never considered a tiny. Narsha and LJr are though and that makes total sense to me.

    18. Well for Little Jrs. I put on there that they are smaller and such (same with orient dolls about not being the same proportions) I have never seen Narsha posted in the mini section which is why I never even considered it :sweat

    19. Narsha is the same exact height as Little Junior females (35cm) and has almost identical body measurements as Little Junior boy (1cm smaller chest, but identical waist and hips).
