It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Petition to get Little Jr. know as a Mini

Jul 24, 2007

    1. let me point out that it say "35cm and under" meaning that 35cm'ers or included, but i personaly would class it as a mini regaurdless of this specification ;)

    2. The 35cm is actually part of the problem, because without more clarification, that would place 35cm Little Junior female in Tinies and her 38cm brother in minis or homeless.

38cm and up plus Little Junior female might work as a simple change for now - at least so far all of the 38cm dolls are mini-like (Little Junior male, Leibchen, and Happydoll Elf girl).

      Carolyn

    3. Exactly my point. If being pragmatic about a situation is dismissive, well that's silliness.

    4. the problem with the little Juniors Dark Rouge is that the male doesnt go into a category and is taller than the Little Junior female. they are 38cm and do not fall into a category. being only 2cm away from MSD, most thinkg they should belong there.

    5. Why is this a problem?

    6. Not meaning to offend anyone here, but I think if you blurr a line its only going to cause confusion. The lines for the mini catagory seem pretty wide as is, and if they are opened it might leave owners of tinies with sizes near and between the 2 LJ genders feeling "why them and not us?".

It gets me thinking about the Mixed sized doll families I've seen in gallery, with a mini or tiny being a child of the larger doll or younger sibling because the scale is right. Even if a Mini has the correct scale to be in the family of a 60cm doll, they are still a mini due to their height. I don't think it should be different for a Tiny in the family of a Mini.

Having a doll classified as tiny should not be something to be troubling, it doesn't make you cheap, or less of a dolls owner. my PF boy cost more than my mini boy did and I really like them both.

    7. because the boy is 38cm and the minis cut off is 40cm, and the tinies catogory only allows for those 35cm and under. . .

    8. I think a lot of people are misunderstanding. The reason that this thread exists is because if your doll is between 36cm and 40cm, there is currently no place on DoA to discuss them because they are too big for the Tiny subforum (i.e. NOT 35cm) or too small for the Mini subforum (i.e. NOT 40cm). Yes, the LJ female is 35cm, but her counterpart is not. This is where the confusion comes, because there is not a place to definitively talk about these dolls.

It depends on whether you class the boy's measurements or the girl's measurements as more important as to which category they are put in.

I think most LJ owners would agree with me that, regardless of which category they fall into, we'll love them all the same and their height won't change (i.e. they'll still fit in with an MSD-sized family). All we want is a definitive answer to which category they should be in.

    9. i hope this can all be sorted out because i wana make 35cm tween-bodied doll myself

    10. OK, so putting the male in the mini category and the female in the tiny category would solve the confusion? *_*

The female, as defined by DoA standards, is clearly a tiny. The male falls in between the cracks and has no set definition, true. But since the female version is a tiny, it seems rather obvious that the male would follow along with her for the purposes of categorization, lacking a place of his own.

I think this is being made far, far more complicated than it needs to be.

Perhaps the mods will adjust the description for the tiny forum so it reads "39cm and under" instead of "35cm and under." That would eliminate the problem of dolls falling in between the cracks, definition-wise. However, based on a lot of what's been posted here, I don't think it would actually solve the base problem, which seems to be that many owners of LJs want to avoid the tiny classification altogether. (Why? Does it have cooties?)

    11. I actually hope that the cracks are covered up. I'd be perfectly happy with my Little Junior as a Tiny, if that's what he is classified as by the board's mods. I'll be equally (note not more) happy if he's classed as a mini. To me, it's just that he's classed as something. I'm not worried about catching 'Tiny' cooties, my next two dolls are going to be Tinies, I just don't see Little Junior as one. <- That's an opinion, not a plea to the mods to movie him from the Tiny section if that's what they decide.

    12. Why not just stick it where you want to put it and label the thread with the doll size? If it that vauge, people shouldn't care. It's a doll size. It doesn't matter. I don't care if I see a pretty LJ in the mini section or in the tiny section. If I look for something specific, I'll search for threads with it. I won't waste my time poking in the mini section looking for LJ things when more are found in the Tiny, or vica versa. There's really nothing to worry about. DOA is too big to file through forum pages hoping to find something. As long as the title is labeled, who cares? :3

    13. I don't care if they end up falling into the Tiny category, I would be much more happy if they be place in the Mini category because that is how I see her. I have nothing against tinies.

I know I started this stating I want her in the minis, and I still do. But if the mods decided she goes with the tinies I will be happy because she has a place along with her male counterpart.

AGAIN I will state that if you think this is stupid and a waste of time, read something else. No one is make you read it, besides yourself.

    14. Junia... I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish. You want your doll classified as a mini, not a tiny, and anyone who don't share your confusion that a 38 cm doll isn't a mini when the cutoff is 40 cm has to either misunderstand you or should read something else?

I personally don't think it's stupid. I just think that a doll too short to be a mini shouldn't be classified as one. Yes, to centimeters too short might be seen as nitpicking, but no matter how much difference there is with body shapes in minis, you can trust it to be long enough at the limbs. (unless you have a doll you know is an exception (lati blue boys, for example)).

    15. So I have absolutely no opinion where these dolls should go. But, it should probably have a set place. I've seen lots of examples of one person having a WTB thread in the Tiny section when someone is selling one in the Mini section. Sure you can, probably, use the search function but it'd be a lot more consistent if people at least knew where they ought be putting inbetween sizes.

    16. Are there any 35 cm dolls that really should be in the tiny section?

    17. Maybe Narsha and Classic AI (both 35cm) don't belong in minis. And maybe even 38cm Vintage AI because they are enlarged Petite AI toddlers with a chubby toddler body.

At 38cm, there are already some 38cm's in minis that are short minis - Leibchen and Happydoll Elf girls. There are few of the Happydoll Elf girls around but all of the Leibchen info is in Minis and she's always been there. Little Junior male is the same size and I think belongs with them. The odd one out is his sister at 35cm and I think there should be an exception for her to be with Little Junior male.

There is no place to draw the line that will cover future dolls properly because we don't know what they will be like. Putting everything 35cm and taller into minis goes too low in my opinion.

Here are some useful comparison photos of Narsha's and Little Juniors with minis:

I think Narsha looks like a tiny when with a mini. Little Junior girl probably would too. But I think she should be with her brother.

      Carolyn

    18. I think on Narsha, it depends on how they are dressed. But I still class them with my mini's!

    19. I think she's a mini.
When I picture tinies, I picture either babies or teeny elves.
She seems not only taller, but her body looks 'older in age'.

    20. On DoA Tinies is a size classification, not an age classification. There are quite a few older immature and mature tinies.
