Oh, I LIKE her! And that wig is WOW! It looks really good on her! And gr. STILL waiting on my poor girl's eyes. I hope they get here by the end of this week, but at this point, I am VERY not hopeful of that! *sighs* Anna, you will have clothes, and eyes, soon. I promise!
@Ayas-Shadow Thanks!!! I'm pretty happy with the wig myself! I hope you get those eyes soon too Where did you order them from?? It seems like they're taking forever.
Vanzinger - are those the glasses from Monstro Designs? I was thinking of getting a couple of pairs for my girls, glad to see they look great on a PD girl!!
I found a pair the hubby and I thought were PERFECT on ebay. Seller has great feedback. The eyes have been shipped, but, as usual with good priced eyes (especially glass ones) it was a Chinese seller. Tracking says the eyes are STILL in Beijing (it's said THAT since the...3rd) so the tracking isn't updating. Or it was sent through slow shipping. Either way, I've done this before. So long as they get here by tomorrow, I'll be OK. That's the long end shipping estimate date. If they're not here by the 25th, though, I'll be opening a dispute on the sale with ebay on the 30 day mark. *shrugs* I've had to wait until the last day on the shipping estimate to get one or two ebay purchases before, and I've never yet had one NOT show up. Add that to ebay's buyer protection, and I'm really not that worried. They were really low cost eyes, and weather ebay reimburses me or not for them, it won't be too much hassle to find another pair in a similar color someplace else.
@Ayas-Shadow Well that's good I suppose. But your poor girl is eye-less... @Katzy Yep!! Hopefully it won't get too tangled, haha
Yeah...I think she's going to get the eyes that were sent with her put in as temps until hers get here. They're brown, at least, just not the right SHADE of brown. But still, that's far better than her going any longer without eyes at all!
Hello All: I just received a Planetdoll Roseann, previously owned. Her skin does not have the depth as your Tara, Katzy. All the skin colors are a bit confusing, but I am wondering, does your Tara have a body blush, special face-up? It may be the old lighting here, but I think my Roseann needs some blushing or something. In her pics she seems milky-pale, but in person a tad more yellow....she maybe needs some healthy pinking? Any opinions? Does planet doll have a standard pale-yellowish skin tone, or is my Roseanne simply yellowing?
I am adding a photo of my new Roseann, does she simply need some blushing? Can anyone tell if she is yellowing from age or if the skin tone seems a normal Planetdoll color that perhaps needs enhancing? I think she needs some color, but can not decide if she needs feature color or all-over blushing or both?
Hi PatriciaAnn. My Tara, aka Alythia, is a tan PlanetDoll. She doesn't have blushing on her body, yet, but she did get a face up. Nothing special. I didn't want it to be overdone. I wanted a natural look to her. I ordered mine through Denver Doll Emporium and they had a comparison picture of all the skin types. White was TOO white and the normal skin color looked too yellow to me. So to answer your question, it's normal and how it's supposed to look. I thought the tan looked liked the most natural color and it's not as dark as they depict in DDE or on Planetdoll's website. It's a nice sun-kissed look. I would definitely do a body blush on your doll. It might help with the yellow tone of her skin. You could try searching through the forums to see other dolls that have your skin color and see how they are blushed. Good luck!
almaxaquotal, YES those are Monstrodesigns glasses. I will warn you, they are a little too small, and required some 'playing with' to get them to fit, but after I 'fixed' them, they're perfect. The arms needed to be splayed a little for her ginormous head, and then reshaped around her ears. Very simple and quick fix.
@PatriciaAnn I don't exactly have an answer for you, but you could always blush her a different color if you prefer it that way. Also, if you're worried about yellowing, you could just spray her with some UV cut MSC.
Thank You Katzy, I am relieved to know she is not "yellowing" prematurely. I do think it is the skin tone as I checked with Planetdoll and this doll came by default in "normal"...which is a yellowish- pale. Her color is completely consistent, not blotchy or different on the arms. Hi Megpie252, I am going to try a body blush for sure, I found some really promising flesh tone pinks pastels on Amazon. What I cannot find is the MSC? Is there a good source for this product, is Junkyspot the best place? Any suggestions? Dick Blick does not even carry it. Our town is so small, I cannot even find Testors DC locally. Obliged to you all. I will post "after" pics. Divine dolly dreams to all.
Well, darn! The eyes showed up today, but they don't fit. I didn't read the description carefully enough...and the eyes are 16mm, not the 14mm I THOUGHT I bought. Hmmm..but I think if I bevel the eye wells a little they might still work...I think I need to think on this some...
Ayas-Shadow do you have a planetdoll MSD? Mine came with default 14mm eyes and I was wondering if I could go a size up to make her look more "anime" but I won't do it if it looks too big on her. Anyone gone a size up on the eyes?
Katzy: Yeah, I have a Planetdoll mini girl. Emma. I ADORE her! But the size 16mm eyes...the get stuck in her eyewells and will NOT got all the way forward to the eye lids. I LIKE how much color they put in her eyes, and how little white, but I need to be able to get them all the way forward to the eyelids! So...as I REALLY like the 16mm I got for her, and REALLY don't want to have to buy her any other eyes right now...or make her some...I'm going to try beveling her eyewells a tiny bit larger, so the eyes will sit properly. Going to have to see if I have a dremmel bit that will work, or if anyone locally has an eye beveler I can borrow for the job at a meet or something! So...yeah...IF 16mm will fit properly in your doll, I think they would look good. Of course...I like more iris, and a lot less white in my doll eyes, and usually go up a size from the defaults. Biggest reason I was TRYING to be more careful with my planetdoll girl is that I've not owned one before, so I wanted to be sure I had eyes that would fit. Then, if I wanted to go bigger, she'd have a nice pair to use until I did. Instead of having the exact issue I AM having with the larger eyes being purchased first...that they don't fit the eyewells in my doll, and so, until modding is done, can't be used. I am TOTALLY assuming all that made sense...I'm rather tired and really SHOULD get getting my kids to bed so I can go to bed now. Heh.
