1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Planetdoll 41cm, 43cm and 45cm Discussion Part 2

Nov 26, 2008

1. Hey Guys! So much long time, no see..
Actually I haven't taken part to any discussion for so long since I have no much time to follow them but I'm sad to see this thread is so quiet, so I thought to wake up it a bit :P
I have a PD Roseanne on a Doll Family body (which yellowed pretty soon and I'm quite complaining the old PD body with all its giant anklers, but a beautiful white skintone...) for 2 years now and I'm contemplating the idea to get her a sister.. My PD girl is so unique and I still fall literary in love with PD girls when I see them around. I still think they've been made with a lot of passion and they have a soul.. I have had and keep having other dolls from different companies, of course, but my PD Roseanne really hit my heart since her arrival. I have always thought she was very special and to me the fact this company didn't become very popular, yet, make me think it's somewhat a fortune for us, since the dolls stay special and unique, just like they are made for each one of us.
To greet everybody, old and new followers of the thread, and wish you happy holidays, here it is my Elyza in a very recent picture (took it last day, finally!)

Hope to read you pretty soon!

2. I'm sad that this thread is so quiet too. But my own life has been INSANE! And I expect others too! But it would be nice to get this thread going again. I love the planet dolls.

3. Elnuyn85 - Your girl is fantastic! Makes me long more to repaint mine, but I'm in the middle of "family vacation" mode so no dolly time for me except on the computer! *L*

4. Here is the Planetdoll Emma who just showed up on my doorstep today. :) She hasn't told me her name yet, but I'm sure she will soon!

5. It is really time to get this thread going again! I've had too much craziness in my life to take pictures- maybe when things calm down a bit.
She looks very sweet.
:)
In the meantime, here is an old picture of Vienna and Manouche. Manouche is a tan Tara, and believe it or not, I can't remember if Vienna is a Cindy or a Katie!! They looked so much alike, I honestly can't remember which one it is.

6. PinkCow your Emma is beautiful! Such a calm and measured gaze in that photograph.

Cirquemom, Vienna and Manouche are a wonderfully charming pair with their pensive and thoughtful expressions.

You all should post some pics in the photo sharing thread, there are only a few there and I would love to see more.

Here is one of my Claribel. She is a Roseanne.

7. She is beautiful! I'll have to check that thread out. I have a lot of craziness happening in my family right now (very ill FIL) but hopefully things will resolve soon and then I can get back to taking new pictures. I love my planetdoll girls- they are among my very favorites and I would never give them up.

8. I love mine too. When I got her I was not really thinking about clothes though. I love that little crocheted dress you have there, did you make that? I sewed the dress Claribel is wearing because I had no clothes for her and my other doll's clothes (an Island Doll 40cm) were much too small. I actually went out and bought a sewing machine and figured out how to thread it and I bought a quarter bit of fabric and used some patternless dress posted in a thread here in the sewing forum. Stuck a bow on it. It looks nice in the photo but actually it has sticky velcro in the back which is now falling off, hehe!. So I am getting sewing lessons which is really fun and will take care of clothes but it would be nice to have some more professional alternatives. I guess I could commission something. Anyhow just thought I would ask.

9. I didn't make the dress. It's actually a vintage doll dress off of an Italian doll from the 1960's. I do sew but sadly don't know how to knit or crochet. I'm determined to learn, though!

10. It’s so great to see this thread moving again, no thanks to me of course ;)

PinkCow: Your Emma is beautiful, congratulations on her arrival!

cirquemom: How lovely to see Vienna and Minouche again. My best wishes for your FiL, and life getting less crazy.
Planetdolls are very special to me too, and along with DiM dolls they are, and I think will always remain my favorite BJD’s.
I can happily announce that I’ve – finally – got an MSD size Roseanne and Riz coming home soon, I’m really excited to get them bigger now as well.
I ordered them on the 41 cm B bodies which is by far my favorite girl (any BJD size) body. Should have asked PD about that so much earlier, as that was one of the main reasons I kept putting off ordering them so long.
Oh, and Vienna is definitely a Katie, I remember from when you were waiting for her and I spammed mine to help with the wait.

Umaeril: Claribel is very pretty. These dolls just have such amazing faces, so full of expression, it gets me every time I see pictures of them.
I’ve been sidetracked by other things far too long, and will try to join you in the photo sharing thread soon too.

11. Hi Wolfboy- great to "see" you again- it would be so great to get this thread happening again. Thanks for clearing that up about Vienna- I just remember having a hard time deciding, couldn't remember which one she is. And you're right, they DO have amazing, expressive faces. I love them so much!

12. You too, and same here!

Did you guys see Planetdoll is having a Winter Event on at the moment? I stumbled on the small printed news about it on the
site when I'd asked about switching bodies for Riz and Roseanne. The event (link) only lasts for a few more days (20th).

13. Hi for some reason I did not see the replies, Nice to meet you Wolfboy! I didn't know Planetdoll was having an event but I am broke anyhow. I am going to sew some clothes for Claribel since nothing fits her and I have no funds to buy stuff.

Have you all done you own faceups on your dolls or left with the default? I am considering a new faceup.

14. Hello all! I just bought my sister's Riz! I hadn't planned on it, but she was my sister's clothing model for 4 years, and when she posted her on ebay, I just couldn't let her go to someone else! She's darling, and just full of my sisters energy! lol! I'll be spamming you all with photos soon!

Umaeril, I was planning on wiping and re-doing this girl's faceup, but after looking at it for a bit, I think I'll just enhance it, it's pretty cute!

15. Congrats Wally on buying your sister's Riz, that is great and really neat that you get to keep her. Are you going to give her a new name? What will you do to personalize her? New hair maybe?

I actually did have my doll's faceup redone, here is a pic, the lighting could really be better actually but anyhow you can see she is quite different and also not as morose as before, lol. ^_^

16. Your girl is darling Umaeril! I love her eye color with her lips and that short wig is so cute on her!
I'll be calling my Riz by my sister's real name, which I have never in my life actually called my sister by (I use a "pet" name for my sis, and even ship packages to her in her that name). I ordered her a new wig today, and just wired her right quick with some bell wire, which I thought would be too small, but is working beautifully! I'm giving myself a day or two to decide whether I'm wiping her face and redoing it, or just enhancing it. Her new wig will show her eyebrows, and they are sad looking to me, so the entire faceup may need to go...

17. wally, congrats on your new girl! Please share pics soon! :D

Umaeril, she is absolutely precious. Her eyes really pop, and I love her expression!

And here's a picture of Meadow, my Emma, in her new clothes:

18. PinkCow, your girl is adorable, and I LOVE her new outfit! Do you mind telling who made it? So cute!!!

19. Sure! I got the outfit from this ebay seller, though she only has one for sale right now. The outfit fits Emma perfectly!

20. Thank you Wally! And how nice I hope you get to take some pics of your Riz I would love to see her but I understand about sad eyebrows, that is why I got my doll her new faceup. I wish I could do my own faceups but my eyes are not great for small work and my hands certainly not deft! So maybe after you decide if you are going to go with or change her we can see her. What do you mean you "wired her right quick with some bell wire"?

Thank you PinkCow! Wow your Meadow is so lovely! What a great outfit, and that headband is so cute! I have not been able to find clothes for mine online. Actually someone is making her an outfit but we're going kind of "circus" with it. ^_^
