1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Posability?

Feb 20, 2010

    1. I personally find posing really important. I saw really gorgeous girls like souldoll but i know i wouldnt be happy with single jointed legs ^^ ive added loongsoul and minifee to my wishlist because the are so poseable AND gorgeous... my hujoos that ive preorderd are also very poseable

    2. I'm pretty new to the hobby, so I dont know a ton about all ther different doll companies, but I'm hoping to get a big SD boy at some point. Right now i really like the Ringdoll rdm 3 bodies and the immortality of soul 70cm bodies, but how well do they pose? I also like Soom, but I've heard that they aren't the best posers. Are there any other companies with aesthetically similar but more poseable/ more naturally jointed bodies?

    3. Single joints do not mean that they have a lack in motion. And double-joints are not an automatic ticket into pose-heaven. Dollstown's older bodies for instance were single-jointed and yet it isn't hard for their hands to touch their face. And I've held many double-jointed dolls who couldn't even sit up straight or stand well. In the end, it all depends on design.

If you'd like to know how well a doll poses, try to find owner pictures.

    4. @Choctopi here is a list of beefy dolls 68cm and above. You might want to go look coz some are built like body builders while others are like swimmers. I know you've asked around already but in case you missed anything.

Be With You - age27 - 76cm (have heard great reviews)
      DollClans - S-Line - 71cm (too new to review)

      Islanddoll - Norse - 73cm (ask thread)
La Légende de Temps (hasn't been released yet)
Soom - MegaGem - 68cm (generally known to be pretty bad posers)

    5. @yuan-mdx
This is exactly what I needed! I can't thank you enough! :)

    6. Another vote for Fairyland here! Amazing poseability, graceful sculpts, and just all-around incredible resin engineering! Plus, the Fairyland removable hands and feet are the BEST. THING. EVER.

    7. something that MUST be said... in the end no mater how well a doll is made (meaning made to pose like a pretzel)... it won't work if the owner lacks skill, practice and patience. It is also different for each doll. 2 people can have the same doll but one person can make it pose while the other... no luck.

Nutshell is it's not only the doll it's the person posing it also.... It took me a year to convince my first doll to 'just' stand for me... It took another club member just plonking him down at the first meet up.

There is no doll in existence that will pose perfectly for everyone/anyone who tries. It takes work "most" of the time... and time make the owners better. ^^

Some ppl have a natural talent to pose dolls (any doll ><) some ... like me, do not. But I'm gonna keep at it anyhow. And I own mostly those 'horrid to pose but so pretty to look at' Iples... 9 of the monsters...

    8. Posability is very important to me, I need to be able to put my dolls in various and natural poses. I started with Fairyland dolls and that is probably why I am now so demanding on others dolls I could get because posability is an important point to me with aesthetic. I once got a doll who was not very poseable, rigid and I couldn't bound with her because of that despite she was a beautiful doll, so I ended up by selling her because I felt like I couldn't do anything with her.

    9. I am still waiting to see what Dollit's are like... they have a similar aesthetic to Iple's YID line but in 70 cm size and JID type size... the maker is a former doll artist from Iple who seems to have gone solo... the jointing looked 'interesting' but it's still too new for much in the way of owner stuff out there yet.

    10. The most poseable dolls I have are my dollzone gill, as well as my Fairydoll body. Fairydoll is very well known for their super poseable bodies, and I've taken a lot of pictures of my fairydoll body doing some very extreme poses. Dollzone's double jointed bodies are also very good at holding poses, but I had some difficulties with standing until I hot glue sueded her.

    11. Dollzone and Fairyland were the best for me until I received my Dollstown 18 year-old female.

That body, once you wire the legs ( yes, the knee joint is as ineffective as everyone says, but 12 gauge covered copper wire fixed them, though still hunting for 10 gauge ), and once you suede all joints, is utterly amazing.
That body falls effortlessly into the most natural poses and holds them till moved again.

I am loving it! As to me, too, posing in this hobby is everything.
It makes me wonder if the smaller Dollstown bodies are as good....... :sumomo::sumomo::sumomo:
