1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Posed Doll Hands vs Poseable Doll Hands

Aug 20, 2015

    1. I'm a bit of both; I love well-sculpted hands that are static, but I also adore jointed hands. Only two of my dolls have jointed hands, and even then only one actually uses them. All my other dolls have their static defaults, but some also have optional hands in differing poses. For me it depends on the character and what options are available that fit them.

    2. I would love them some day, but I think I would need to feel out the character's of my dolls. Like, do they really need jointed hands. I honestly don't know what they'd really be useful for besides giving people the finger, haha.

I guess holding stuff? But honestly, I've seen just as many regular hands that people have gotten to hold things. So...we'll see. But I think they're awesome on other people's dolls.

    3. I like all of this feedback! When I find a well-posed, sculpted hand, I can fall in love with it easily. But I do love the idea of jointed hands because then that means that I can quickly have a certain pose without having to switch out hands. Aesthetics wise, I think I might prefer sculpted hands just because it blends well with the doll itself. I don't think I will ever be able to chose between the two, ever.

I think I will have to take more time and stare at hands some more.
I really just want a new pair for my Doll Leaves because his hands have this weird shape and it bugs me just a little.

    4. I'm not a fan of jointed hands. I've always found them to be unattractive aesthetically unless painted and used for a cyborg character like Genos from One Punch Man where the jointed look totally fits. Otherwise, while the concept of my dolls being able to do dynamic poses with their hands sounds cool, I don't see myself giving up pretty sculpted hands anytime soon.

    5. I love jointed hands. If they weren't so expensive I would have one for all my dolls and future dolls. I just think they are so cool and love being able to do more poses and and hold things more easily. I especially like doll family h hands and doll chateaus jointed hands. They are so beautifully crafted and give dolls more versatility. But I can see why people dislike them and there are some I don't like. Such as the ones with excessive vein details and really long nails. But then again I don't like those qualities in posed hands too.

    6. I've never actually owned a pair of jointed hands. (Mainly because I'm waiting for Resinsoul to release some in MSD size, which is crucial because the only dolls I have are not only from RS but have unique skin tones.) But I have always admired them and hope to get them for all my dolls some day, if I find them to my liking. However, I do enjoy posed hands, especially when you can buy many different posed hands, as it looks more natural without the joint system in jointed hands. Who knows... I'll probably have equal amounts of both.

    7. I've always loved the idea of jointed hands, but mostly I just don't like the way they look! After a lot of searching I did manage to find Doll Legend's jointed hands, and they have stolen my heart. :aheartbea I'll definitely be getting a few pairs for future dolls. For now, my only doll at the moment has lots of different posed hands, and I don't think I'll ever get jointed hands for her for her. The hands she has now are absolutely beautiful and there's enough of them that I'm not left wanting for poses!

I don't think I'd have much of a preference between to two, provided I have a good variety of posed hands to chose from.
