Pregnant and Chubby BJDs

Agreeing with the people who mentioned an extra torso piece that could be swapped out for pregnant dolls. I'd love to be able to do pregnancy photoshoots with an exposed belly but I wouldn't want my doll to be pregnant forever, not only do I not wish that for anyone but also it'd probably feel weird over time. So a piece that could be swapped out would be perfect, yep!

As for chubby dolls, I'd love a chubbier doll that's not a tiny. I've seen tinies that are more on the chubby side but I really like bigger dolls and I'd like to be able to have my chubby characters represented in scale to the skinny ones. Not everyone's a top model after all... More like most people aren't, haha.

 

oh man I'd love a proper chubby doll, my fave OC is chubby and I'd love a doll that accurately represents them.

As for pregnancy, I agree with people that it should be stuck on with magnets and be removeable

LOL @ eternal pregnancy. I'm 5 months pregnant myself and I wouldn't wish eternal pregnancy on anyone But I think a pregnant doll would be cute

 

I own a small sized doll that is chubby - well but that's normal for children. As for an adult chubby one it would depend on how it looks!

Pregnant, well, I'd totally enjoy it if I had a female doll that could be 'pregnant' for awhile, I'm sure I'd have a greatttt time doing photoshoots and photo-stories! But it would have to be temporary, mostly because I'm probably never getting more than 1 girl and she should not be pregnant forever haha...


I remember those barbie (or similar?) dolls from my childhood that had those plastic pregnancy bellies that would slide open and you could place a tiny baby doll inside... I think I wanted one of those xD

 

I would love an interchangeable torso so they could look pregnant but not be pregnant forever, no one deserve that lol but it would be fun I think for some stories.

Chubby? I've got them already lol xD I think it depend on what one really wants but recently e.g. I got an impldoll tiny body and... it's the cutest plumpy thing ever The belly is sooo like of an actualy cute, well-nourished child Sure, i'd like to see some more variety around... but it'd have to be well-sculpted and engineered. E.g. I don't really like the 39 cm islanddoll body... it just looks like a one big, shapeless dumpling. i like volks msds thogh The arms, tighs... the sausage-shaped fingers I really just love them and would love to get a volks msd with any head, just for the sake of the body

 

Haven't some people already done chubby bjd already? Maybe my memory falls me. But I had one of those pregnant barbie's when I was young.

 

I'm not sure that I wouldn't pay a good amount of money for a "pregnancy pad" (especially one you could add layers to for progression)... I see it kind of like a body suit garment with a pocket for the pads... I 'need' this cuz I have characters I want to depict pregnant... one whom I'd love to do as the 'omg! are 11 months along?!' type XD The kind of pregnant that makes other worry about suddenly becoming midwives lol. And all my girls are SD's (Iple's)... I also want an 'old man with a paunch'.

An attachable baby bump like Bab's friend Midge would be 'stellar' and yes I have her ^^ I just wish I could sculpt -_-...

 

I have been searching so long for a chubby msd sized body. I find plenty of cute chubby yosds but I want this character to fit in with the rest of my dolls, which are all msd, since the characters around the same age. I feel like if I got a reg body for my character then it just wouldn't feel like him.

Please more chubby/plush bjds!

Sorry to bump an old-ish thread, but are there any chubby Yosd? One of my characters is on the plump side and I'd love to find a good body for her.

So I recently realized that I absolutely adore mature, stylized dolls with chub, but I've noticed that style is hard to come by! Girls seem rare as it is, and boys are practically nonexistent. Is there anyone out there who shares my wish for more pudgy cutie patoots?

 

There was a discussion thread about it somewhere... or maybe in the photo requests section? But yeah it's not something companies seem interested in producing People often talk about it being difficult to engineer, the dolls would be too heavy (big muscly dolls are heavy too though!) and that there wouldn't be enough interest. So it's mainly restricted to artist dolls, chubby tinies, mods, or 'curvy' girl bodies.

 

Freakstyle produced a lovely mature msd that might fit the bill: Salomé. I believe the last few are still available. She's the only one I've seen, though.

 

If you're really set on a pudgy doll you could look around for someone who does mods who might modify an existing doll for you

 

As beautiful as the perfectly fit dolls are, it is a shame that with all the variety, they're all variations of similar body types. With current societal trends encouraging loving all body types and an increase in wanting more body types, it's surprising that no companies are picking up on this. Even Salomé, beautiful as she is, isn't really "pudgy" by real life standards, although certainly by BJD standards.

Well, I suppose which direction I'd go in if I ever got into making BJDs. XD

 

I'm wondering if anyone's ever come across a doll body (thinking SD or MSD) that could really be considered chubby? I imagine maybe an obscure company may have one. Or maybe you've seen a very complicated mod that's accomplished the result? I've seen companies that make pear shaped or oddly proportioned bodies, and while those are cool too, I'd love to see a chubby girl. Particularly for a specific character I had in mind.

 

loong soul has a new line out that are 'chubby'! I believe theyre MSD size. Also check out MYou. they have a line thats like a large YoSD. theyre 40.5 cm so clothing them is a bit difficult. Though they arent CHUBBY. just. cute baby squish looking. Loong Soul though!! Go take a peek!
