1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 1. I don't need any of my girl dolls to look pregnant, even if their character has that experience. My dolls are character avatars, so they don't need to mimic all the story action. My one character Lena has kids... they are 7-9 years old anyway, a little late to be pregnant.

Most of the chubby dolls I see are tinies, I'd like to see some of these dolls grown up to a larger doll size but retaining the extra weight. I personally don't need a greatly overweight doll but a girl with some heft, heavy thighs and butt, a tummy and some muffin top would be great. It seems to me when you do see a fat-bottomed girl doll, she then has a tiny waist, and skinny arms (in the Euro art doll style)... Dea Vivente is a porcelain doll shop that makes dolls with a very womanly shape, but I've yet to see something like her in resin and again, in a larger size.

    2. Depending on the size of the event, I think it'd be cute if they paired up to LEs or their most popular models as the parents and you'd get little updates via email or something. there could be little ultrasound pic that are made up, maybe around the 7 month mark you get to hear the gender, and there's a rare chance of getting twins.

I love to see such wide variety of preferences. Is there a specific reason you like slim bodies or is it purely aesthetics?

    3. variety in humans why not dolls?... the magnetic tummy like "Midge" (not Bab's)... is an okay idea... looks not 'too' bad... and the baby is just really tiny... not really creepy ^^ yes I have it. but I would kill for 'pregnancy pads'. Maternity shops sometimes have them so you can try on the pad for what you 'will' be so you can shop ahead of time... also theatre work let me see some amazing ones (pro made ones). complete with 'popped' belly buttons lol... if they can make 'pregnancy simulators' for men to experience some aspects of what it's like for their women... why not a pad at the very least for a doll?

And defiintely a chubby doll... only you'd definitely have to be ubber creative to keep the dolls mobility... unless you made some parts with some kind of softer material... chubby gets tricky on the issue of keeping the doll able to move/bend/pose... I saw some dolls (more barbie-like) made in the images of characters from a popular show who were 'fat' and the posing.... just sitting with straight legs was ... awkward looking... the sculptor that can capture a chubby and keep mobility will be a god!

    4. Oh my gosh, little outtie belly buttons would be so cute! My brother when he was little used to call them belly nipples and dimples for innie and outtie belly buttons.

I imagine a creative way to pull it off or even make it like a "fat suit" kind of thing for slimmer dolls would be to use a rubber-like or latex kind of swim suit-ish thing that would go over the torso and/or arms and legs, covering the joints, but also giving realistic skin folds and flab when in posing that wouldn't be there when standing.

    5. I think temp preggers is best. As someone who's been pregnant twice, it's not exactly fun... I'd never force my poor doll to be pregnant for all of eternity.

    6. I'd looove a chubby doll XD !

    7. Had to look her up; awesome :)

    8. Hmm, this is good to know. I've been toying with the idea of marketing my own dolls, and different body sizes were definitely a thing I've been considering. In general, I want my dolls to be a little meatier than the average BJD, seeing so much interest in it definitely encourages me to continue making and designing more dolls.

Who knows, maybe I'll kick start it in a year or so when I have my prototypes and a few extra designs set up.

    9. Oh! Well, I'm glad this thread could help. I look forward to seeing your work in the future.

    10. Pregnant or chubby dolls are not my cup of tea. For a pregnant doll I would prefer something similar to the pregnant barbie like this...even though it might seem a little bit creepy but as I don't need a pregnant girl...and I don't buy girl dolls...I would never order one. ^^

As for chubby dolls, it depends on the doll and the poseability. I get frustrated with dolls that are not on the skinny side because it is difficult to dress them, pose them and find them the right clothes to look good. But I would buy a chubby Yo-SD or baby doll like Nappy Cho they are so CUTE!!! *___*

    11. You know that I've never really thought about it? Ahah X° probably it's only an aesthetics reason <: I just prefer them ~

    12. Chubby yes, pregnant no - that's just weird imo.

    13. I'd love to see some chubby dolls, both male and female. While I like slim bodies, I would love to see more variety in body types. I understand there are aesthetic reasons for making "perfect" slim bodies, but I think not everyone wants all slim all the time.

As for pregnant dolls, I wouldn't want an "eternally pregnant" doll (i.e. one that's sculpted pregnant). That would be a bit unnerving to me. I really do like the idea of the interchangeable magnetic belly plate as an option part, though. Pregnancy can be beautiful and the photos can be visually interesting.

    14. I'm personally not interested in a pregnant doll, if I want my doll to look pregnant I can always use temporary ways to achieve that. A chubby doll on the other hand would be amazing! I really hope one day there will be a little more variation in body types, though I understand it might be more difficult in terms of stability and pose ability. Fingers crossed, I guess :)

    15. I've always toyed with the idea of making my own BJDs, their body types mimicking my own art style, thick thighs and tummies. It would be great to see more body types for dolls, seeing as how the slim hourglass and child bodies have been done to death and back (as cute as they are). I would love to buy a chubby/fat doll, but any companies I see just aren't fluffy enough... Hopefully some day I (or the many talented others) can take off with sculpting more diversity in bjd bods.

As for the pregnant bellies, I think it would be cute! I wouldn't be able to own one, though. As the others said, perma-preg would be odd to see on my doll  Having a snap-on belly sounds nice, but I'd be most concerned about how noticeable the separation lines would be... Perhaps a swappable torso/tummy piece would be best! :fangirl:

    16. Yeah, a separate torso piece is what I was thinking would be best for it.

    17. Do they actually exist somewhere? Does anyone have a pic of one? I think I would love both!!

    18. It's a interesting idea ^^, but it would have to be temporary, and include a baby :). I liked those barbies that were pregnant so why not BJD's. But a changeable torso would be best. I too would not wish for a poor dolly to suffer pregnancy forever, poor thing..

    19. I don't know about chubby, but Dollmore Alex/ia is chunky and perfect and I want one so badly.

    20. Cool ideas everyone! :)
