Pregnant and Chubby BJDs

I think I'd be interested in an exchangeable torso sort of option for a pregnant one. I'm not so into the chubby but I think it would be nice to have more of them made so people who WOULD want them would be able to buy them.

 

Well, while a pregnant doll would probably creep me out a little, just a bit more 'fat' on them probably would make them prettier in my eyes. I know ultra slim is kind of in the bjd job description, but the ones others think are too chunky usually are the ones I like better

 

I took a quick look and it's a Cartmen -like child from Ringdoll. I think it's too soon for me to say I'm not interested in a chubby bjd. Afterall there isn't that much exposure for us to give a fair decision before it even exists! I'd be concerned if it's even posable since the extra fat would be as heavy as an Iplehouse EiD guy.

 

did I imagine it or did the forum rules say that dolls with 'sculpted body fat' were off-topic a while back? Has this now been changed if I didn't dream it? I think it's a great idea for a character doll rather than a typical 'fashion doll' (ie shaped like a supermodel)

 

The only thing with the word "fat" that I've seen in the rules is the "baby fat", I think that's related to infants dolls and weird baby-looking head sculpts.

 

What a great idea to have imperfect dolls and doll bodies!
If dolls are for us, humans, they can imitate any of us. Yes, everyone wants to look perfect somewhere inside, but chubby faces could be so cute! I'd like to see more of them. As I'd like to see more smiling and happy looking dolls - and these are rare.
Not sure I would like to have a doll that could only be pregnant all the time. But ability to look pregnant for sometime is wonderful - whatever way can it be done. If a woman can be small and adult and old, and pregnant also, why not to let dolls to play it out for us?
The topic is fascinating. I already began to think how I would make my doll pregnant for some time. (and get a small one afterwards) It can be funny!

 

It'd be kind of cute if you could order a "pregnant" doll and nine months later a tiny BJD arrives in the mail.

The only pregnant doll I've seen myself is Ringdoll's Eva, who is a zombie (bride of Frankenstein, to be exact) and she has (or at least had in early production stages) a creepy fetus in her see-through tummy. lol She's a pretty doll, though, and I really wanted to get her.

This is a weird thread..I like it!!! Your opinions are cool, I find it fascinating,that the majority would own a chubby dolly, as opposed to one that's preggers.
How old would the dolly have to be?
Toddler chubby, and grandma chubby are two different looks, I haven't seen any granny bjd though, has anyone?

 

While I think the pregnancy option would be useful for my friends that do that sort of roleplay with their dolls who are married and having a family, it's not for me. It's not for me, however. Pregnancy.. sort of creeps me out, especially for dolls.

I also would never want a chubby doll. It's not my thing. But, I feel like it'd be really cool for people that want to have that option to be able to have it.

So.. in conclusion, I feel like both are a good idea for people that want those options, even if I am not one of those people!

 

I am all for chubbier dolls! I love that my luts girl in on the thicker side, I am not sure why they have more of an appeal to me. However, I would be really creeped out by a pregnant doll. Especially sense a lot of dolls look very young.

Yes, these dolls are stunning. I would absolutely be interested in resin dolls with these kinds of shapes and proportions. As far as a pregnant doll...I don't really know. I mean I do not have issue with it. I think it could be really cool, but I do not know that I would necessarily want to own one. I guess I would have to see one first and then decide.

 

OK, I would totally rethink this if a tiny bjd arrived in the mai la few months later

 

This is how I feel as well. Neither are really my thing and I'd probably never get one, but it would be nice for those who do want the option

 

I checked the name mentioned for reference above, her artwork is nicely done. I think I would prefer a more voluptuously sculpted, resin, smaller waist, and hips, bigger legs, and I wouldnt mind a prego, bjd either.
When everyone says fat, however, what are your thoughts? Obese, like 600lbs, love handles, or just junk in the trunk?

There was a doll a couple years ago that had some mini cult following.
She was sized somewhere between an MNF and a LTF, and had an extreme pear shape.
She was nearly flat chested, but had a gut and butt and thighs.
Next to the standard MSD she looked short and fat (gosh her hips were bigger than theirs and she was a head shorter) XD
I think she was made by someone on the forum?
I know she wasn't made by a major company...
I remember when she was body blushed she looked super adorable and I favored her to the usual twigs C:

 

I'd definitely like more variety in body shapes. Chubby, maybe one with bigger hips.. only breast sizes changing can be kind of a drag. What if I want my girl to have modest breasts, but super shapely hips? Those don't exists that I've come across.

And when I say chubby, I do mean chubby. I think a lot of people mean just a tiny bit more meat on their bodies when they say chubby, but I'd want them to be like.. like an average woman, but maybe even a bit heavier. Realistic, I guess is what I mean.
