1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Pros and Cons of Soom Mecha Angels

Aug 26, 2008

    1. Just got my Vega. She is awesome! No thunder thighs. Darned near perfect figure and even has a tad bit suggestion of elfish ears. The neck is a smigen long but I can live with it for a while. I am going to order another in NS. She is exactly (close enough!!!) what I have wanted in a doll since I was 12. I am utterly thrilled with her!!!

Update: I don't count the face up. They smeared it apparently and I had to have it removed. I figured out I can't do faceups. Hands just not capable of doing one yet. In time maybe, but until then will have to get one done for my lovely Vega. I named her Eleanor, btw. Means LIGHT and THE OTHER which I thought perfect!

    2. Heh, I'm having so much fun reading up on your guys posts, I'm learning alot and this just wants me to have one much faster :D

....There's just one problem though, and I bet you All can figure it out right away.....That's right, I don't have a job and so far have only 30 bucks towards him, which was made in the last 4 months via chores around the house :sweat :(

    3. Please moderate me if this is in the wrong thread. My humble apologies for being a newbie and a BJD virgin. I am searching for more measurements for the Soom Mecha Angel female body than are available on the Soom website and some of the measurement databases/charts I have been able to find on DoA. I was going to get the Domuya Ida with supermodel package, but when I saw Soom's Saiph, I immediately changed my mind and would like to make/build a dress maker's dummy so I can start drafting patterns and making wardrobe for her while her purchasing bank account accrues.

      Thanx
      ^S^

    4. wyverdreamer: No idea if this is the place for it. Probably on the sewing etc threads. But I have a lovely Vega (and a Unidoll Dalia) and I am working on sloper patterns and converting Lutterloh patterns for her (and for Dalia for myself and a good friend who owns a Selina/Lagann). Will be posting those (sloper patterns) on the sewing thread once I'm done. Making a dress form would be best after you get her.

    5. This is really interesting; i am expecting my saiph next week but im really excited that she is so big! I am only 5 feet tall, so i am really in love with the fact that she is so big.
Question though; does anyone have a guess as to how heavy she is?

    6. They aren't as heavy as you might think. They're not light, but they're lighter than any of my cats, and mercy knows I drag them around often enough. :) I'm 5ft also, so I'm in the same boat. I wouldn't call them easy to drag around, as they're quite long-limbed, but I've had no trouble.

    7. My personal idea of Pros and cons of a mecha angel (I have had a Sabik Cyborg and I currently own a Saiph)

Pros: MA males have a wonderful sculpts.
Cons: MA males should have a body proportioned to the MA females ^^

The females are wonderful, well proportioned, just a wonderful female scaled to 80cm size... I can't understand why Soom cannot make a 80cm version of a Super Gem, the female MA is a super gem female in larger version so she has nice arms and well shaped legs.
I don't think the weight is a problem if they add a bit of resin here and there XD at last who own a MA knows that you cannot carry it around so easily ;) and I think my Sards are heavier than my Saiph O_o

    8. Cenarius...You are right about the MA males being in need of a change! I love the female MA's! Other then the neck being too long they are great! They aren't really heavy in my opinion. Males even lighter then the females. They are big but if you take them places you will want a bag anyway. Around the house it's just a matter of holding them properly. If you can hold and/or carry a very small child you can carry a MA three times over!

    9. Just wondering comparatively, those of you who have a Super Senior Delf and a Mecha Angel Sabik. Are their leg length relatively the same? It seems their waste measurement is and the thigh width. Would the SSD pants fit him? If they are a bit short.. would boots cover it?

    10. i dont know how i missed this thread before!!! im so glad i found it!

if im not "soomed" by a zodiac doll first, ill be bringing sabik home for my first doll =] so this thread should be really helpful

    11. I have a Super Senior Delf and a Sabik MA The MA is about an inch or so longer in the leg. I've tried the MA pants on SSD and all you'd have to do is hem them. As for the other way....fine. Any problems and boots would cover. Obviously I don't own all the SSD pants! But the one's I do own are fine.

    12. Thanks for the info, that will help a lot Paulajtm. My boy needs clothes.

    13. Heck... SD13 pants will fit them just fine if they aren't super tight to begin with. Mecha angels are more well-endowed than the typical SD13, and obviously the pants would be pretty short, but they'll /fit/.

    14. Does anyone know what size chair or sofa would be good for them to sit in?? Or should I stick with a doll stand??

    15. Biggest problem I'm still trying to hack is the bendy ankles :(. I know people said go with boots but what do people use to glue the ankle bit to the foot? I heard superglue isn't good for resin, I tried hot glue gun but I don't think I applied it the right way though.

    16. Do you have access to epoxy? I know I have had my hubby use epoxy for my Hypermaniac screws in his foot and hand and it hold much more stronger than Superglue. You do have to work with it rather quickly and not have any of it touch your skin.

    17. No but I can go look for it. Do I basically just slap it on in between the ankle bit and the foot bit like a sandwich or do I also need to plaster some on the outside as well?

    18. Once you have it you can put it on between the ankle part and foot part to secure it and let it set overnight. It is very strong stuff so if you find any use with caution because as my hubby warned me it drys very very fast.

    19. Sweet, I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

    20. I used a Hot temp glue gun and glued his ankles so they are more sturdy and Heat wears big shoes, MA's tend to have really small feet anyways. For soem reason the hot glue is sooo different than the regular temp glue and is much more sturdier. Also be careful cos the hooks in the feet can breakm Heats did so i had to get new feet from Soom, the recent MA I got also had a broken foot, luckily it was the other one than Heats so it worked out!
