1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Pros and Cons of Soom Mecha Angels

Aug 26, 2008

    1. Has anyone ever tried Iplehouse super hero's jackets for a male MA?

    2. No, but unless you want a super super oversized look, it wouldn't work. I had my Sabik next to a Super Hero at a meet, and he was way taller, and about half as wide in the chest. The arms would probably be too short as well...

When I made a jacket to fit MA, I used a regular 60cm boy pattern, made it 120% larger and then took in the sides because he's just soooo skinny.

    3. Thanks, that is very helpful.

    4. I have a sweater that looks good on my MA and also fits Iplehouse E I D, but it is stretchy. I suppose that's why it works.

    5. There's not many clothes for the dolls, If they are they seem to get sold quickly but then soom doesn't really restock them. Like for instance i'm STILL pining after that purple jumper they had ages back, like twoyears ago.

    6. My Vega female poses way better then my Deneb male. She even fits regular sd platform heels with a little push and shove. I have no trouble finding shoes and clothes for my Mecha's. There are always some pants here in the market place and a few tops on ebay every once in a while.

    7. This thread is incredibly helpful, I have a Rex on layaway which I hope to pay off this month, anyways thank to everyone that helped clear up my questions!!!

    8. if you like tall long legged dolls... i strongly suggest you get one or two Mechas. But be carefull of their fingers. Out of all the stories i hear and of my own...... when one of these towering dolls falls over... you can practice your finger glueing skills.

    9. I have 2 Mecha right now and love them alot but have some minor problem. 1st mecha that came to me one of the foot keep falling off and Soom send a replacement which is good. My 2nd mecha came and Soom forgot to send me the tattoo I ordered also there is a chip on his leg and Soom send me the wrong head. Soom paid for the return head and now I am waiting for the correct head, tattoo and replacement for the chip leg. I am glad Soom is very helpful. I love the company but this last two order I don't know whats going on with Soom. Right now I am still waiting for the head. I think the company is swamped with orders and making these mistakes. Is anyone else having this problem or just me ?

    10. I'm new here, so I hope I am asking this question in the right forum. I really like the mech angel Saiph face, the one on their website with the hat on. I see the other Saiph, with the "crown", are they the same sculpt? Is the only difference in the face up? Is the cream white skin really white looking or "normal" color? What color of skin would you call the one with the "crown"? Would anyone out there have pics of both up close and personal so I can see the difference "in real life"? Sorry for all the questions but I don't want to order her only to be disappointed with the skin tone. Thanks for any help you can give me.

    11. This Saiph is listed as having 'Cream White' skin. If you look at her legs, they are very pale. This Saiph seems to be a darkish normal skin. She may be blushed in those photos. All the yellow she's wearing looks like it's reflecting the light a bit.
Their headsculpt is the same. It's amazing what you can for expression with a faceup, eyes, and a wig.

Try using the advanced search feature to find the images you want. You could also post something in the BJD-opedia, picture requests.

    12. Wow, I'm glad this kept going after I was done with all my questions ^_^
Well I didn't get a MA for my first doll, but I'm glad I waited because I have fallen for NS Saiph <3 I normally don't go for girl dolls (if you see my wishlist I have like 50 boys and 2 girls ^^; ) but she caught my eye and I keep looking back at her.
Won't be able to get her for awhile but that's fine, I can just admire the pictures til then X3

    13. Thanks for your help/suggestion!

    14. All right, here is my report on the Dollmore Glamor Model clothes fit for a male MA. I took a chance ordering a black striped suit which comes as pants, jacket and white shirt (http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=7071), simple blue jeans (http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=6519) and an overcoat (http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=6300). They all FIT PERFECTLY. The suit jacket is a bit too short to my liking, but it is the style, not the fit. The shoes (http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=7117) however look like my poor boy is wearing grandpa's shoes, not only way too long, which was to be expected, but also uncomfortably wide. With some padding, though, they will still look good for photoshoots, if you don't zoom in on the feet.

BTW, the craftsmanship of the garments and shoes is SUPERB.

The images below illustrate the fit. Sorry for crappy pictures, was in a hurry to share my discoveries. Hope this helps!

A quick update: the blue jeans are a bit tight in the waist. I managed to zip them up, but the top button will have to be adjusted. In the meantime, nothing a wide belt can't hide.

    15. Wow, that's fantastic! Now I wish I would have bought something for my Sabik on the last Dollmore GO I participated in. Thanks so much for the report! :D

    16. That's great news Katyok!!!

I should watch out for the next Dollmore GO :)

    17. I have a mecha angel Rex he is stunning,
I know lots of people have a problem with MA size, I don't see why?
they don't stand that easy, but everything else it great
I love my Mecha Angel, and he's size just makes him that much cooler
the Mecha Angels also seem to stand out more at doll meets and people are interested in seeing them
I have a dollmore model shirt on my doll right now its fits good, the sleeves are a tiny bit short but he has gloves on so you can't notice,
I actually bought shoes from dollmore that are too big for him haha
      they're stunning
anyone thinking about buying one, I say, Do it cause they're so cool!

    18. I just wanted to know what other heel shoes fit the girls other than from soom.

    19. I'm deeply attracted by Vega boy now....... If neither DM 75cm body nor DS 74cm body fits him, I'll be most likely to just get the MA body!

    20. I have a Mecha angel Corvi.
Pros He's so handsome and he looks very realistic. I love how tall he is too and his hands are very expressive.
Cons He's heavy and clothes are hard to find for him.

I know a lot of people have said standing is impossible, but as long as he's on a solid surface he stands pretty well, you just have to hold his feet down while you rock his body back and forth till you find "the sweet spot" I've had him standing on the table for about an hour or two. I love that he stands like an Abercrombie model lol. I think the upper arms look a tad...strange. He has the older "skinny" arms so it seems odd in comparison to the rest of his body.
