Question for all male collectors

I was really into the anime and manga culture back when I was younger. This is partially because I drew a lot. In any case idk where I found my first bjd, I just know it became somewhat of an obsession. I suspect it was probably a image I saw somewhere. Oddly enough I think I know which one even. I didn't get my first doll until around a year ago.

 

When I discovered that BJDs existed I was failing to get into action figures. I felt I was on the right direction but the wrong hobby. Recapping my problems, I didn't care that much about the current anime season's characters (or anime in general), I wanted something like a canvas, bigger and sturdier than at least 1/6 (small plastic joints are flimsy and the better articulated the figure, the flimsier it is), with fabric clothes and real hair that wouldn't limit the posing and could be changed. I thought that's a lot like those cool resin dolls (was a bit obsessed with DC/DZ). I still resisted the idea for about a year because I felt weird about it, but the research and lurking were probably for the best.
